After sitting through what was a tolerable but not great series, we are presented with an ending that suggests that bigotry and violence are the way to go. If it was intended to show that this was the case, at the time this series was set in, you could perhaps get some satisfaction. I suggest that this is not the case for the majority of viewers..as least I hope so. I never quite understand programs that do this...there are others and I suspect most viewers have seen similar. Perhaps it is not always probable to present positive outcomes. If this ending was a statement then the closing vignettes should have been more pointed.
An unfortunate waste of good talent, acting, that is. The conception is muddled, scattered and mostly boring. If "Ember" is supposed to be an inspector(?) then the police are in more trouble than usual. The lack of a comprehensible plot is the biggest problem with the script. By the fourth episode, the viewer is desperate for some sort of comprehension and is left floundering. But that doesn't happen. A whole series of "explanations " is flung into the script...no reasonable expectations, but what the heck! At least a decision was made to NOT extend to five/six episodes. One person seems to be credited with the writing...definitely a problem, script should have been edited by a seasoned, reliable script developer.
Season 1 was enjoyable. Season 2 is a slow descent into the land of TV garbage that American TV shows excel at. Someone decided that all the other characters needed extensive development, at the cost of the main character (Trent). The first few episodes of season 2 are a tedious plod for the viewer. The rest of the episodes are a continual decline due to continuous inclusion of Trent's childhood trauma.it would have been fine if this matter was dealt with in a couple of episodes and then finished with. But it goes on and on, overlaying every plot line. This could be a good series if the producers would stick to the season 1 development. But they won't, and any further seasons will probably be rubbish.
