I think that that the negative reviews are borne from people either not understanding or trying to apply logic to what is undoubtedly the quirkiest, funniest series I've ever seen. Highly unconventional, totally bizarre, and above all, hilarious, this series is without logic - don't try to understand it, just strap yourself in for a helluva ride. The humour is not quite American, not quite British, but takes the best elements of both. I was spellbound by it, unable to recall what the original 'plot' was, as the story flew off it multiple tangents, each more surreal and ridiculous than the last. Try it, you won't regret it.
Beautifully shot, brilliantly acted (Sean Harris is a real standout), this Australian thriller/drama will have you enthralled. It was 2 hours but I was utterly ensconced in the cinematography, bleak landscapes and characters that I didn't lean over to pick up my phone (a hallmark of a good movie?) once during the film.
In my humble opinion, those who gave negative reviews probably were not prepared to sit through something so tense, visceral and uncomfortable - it requires the viewer to be in the right frame of mind for it to be imbibed and enjoyed. It will leave an indelible mark on you and is well worth a watch.

Much like Colin Farrell's character, Penguin, this film was nonsensical, toothless and bloated. By the numbers action, laughable fx (wait for the batwing scene) and Robert Pattinson has all the presence of a wet lettuce. At the conclusion of almost 3 hours we asked "what was the point of that?". Save your money and give it to something deserving like Michelle Yeoh's "everything everywhere all at once"
