Blackhat
(2015)

Michael Mann at a low point
Blackhat is fairly good overall, has high points, but many weaknesses and overall a clear step down from Mann's previous work even Miami Vice. It's really a damn shame. I'm a huge fan of Mann, huge, understand his stuff completely. Blackhat doesn't have enough character development and is overall just off feeling most the time...not like Mann. Honestly makes me wonder what was up with him. 70,000,000$ budget. It could of been a masterpiece. Mann had the right idea but things definitely did not com together as envisioned. I have a high standard for Mann but in terms of the average movie this ranks above average.

The Exorcist
(1973)

Masterpiece
Complete masterpiece. Defining horror film. Films like this don't happen today. It's truly such an incredible film beyond what saying that typically means today. It was such a serious accomplishment to have made this masterpiece in the early 1970s. One of the most important films ever made. It's a landmark in film and more. One of my favorites. Best horror film ever made. As film critics Mark Kermode's favorite film I agree and it has high re-watch value

Bad Timing
(1980)

Masterpiece
This film has very fortunately been restored by Criterion so now we have appropriate access to the film and an excellent remaster of it. The film is better than I original anticipated. Timeless film. The story and themes are relevant today. I can think of a couple films like it from more recent years, but this one is like the master of them all. Excellent characters and performances. Arguably, the casting could not have been better. This film was ahead of it's time. Even the sense of humor it has is just modern. There's a lot of depth. Definitely a film that must be seen again and again to fully absorb. It should make one wonder. May this film go down in history and live on.

True Detective: Church in Ruins
(2015)
Episode 6, Season 2

Exceptional
This show is beyond words. Everything about it is perfect. There are only positive things to say. To put it simply, this show is a masterpiece that is at the top with the best(Twin Peaks). Anything I can think to say feels like I'm stating the obvious.

Spoiler Alert:

Velcoro's character has developed in a very interesting way and Farrell is exceptional in his performance. Have to say, Farrell really does shine amazingly at this point. Farrell is definitely the one for the role. I think Vaughn, also the one for his role, performed exceptionally as well in this episode, maybe his best so far. This episode was very intense. Learning a lot more about what the main characters are after in life while the investigation just got a boost from their successful objective of obtaining the documents that include the signatures. Looks like there's going to be a very impressive finale. Again, speechless. This show is one hell of a ride.

True Detective: Down Will Come
(2015)
Episode 4, Season 2

Truly Amazing
Excellent episode, of course

Spoiler Alert!: Similar to season one's 4th episode with the big shoot out; this time with an L.A. setting style. The three main characters are the only survivors...wonder why. Starting to get deeper into the characters issues. Emotions are heightened and their lives are very seriously stressful. It will be interesting to see what the consequences will be and how they move on. Also, how will the character feel about continuing their line of work after almost losing their lives and having lost friends on their team. I sense an explosive finale. Really feel like one of the main characters will die, maybe even more than one, but I hate to say it. If I had to guess, I would say Colin Farrell will be that one, but maybe that's too easy. Either way, it will be amazing and I look forward to it.

Maelström
(2000)

Great Film
Excellent first major independent feature from Villeneuve and it demonstrates real, intelligent, talent. The lead actress, Marie-Josée Croze, is perfect in her role, I wouldn't want it any other way. This is one of those films I wish I could have been creatively involved in in any way because just being a part of it is a special thing. It's a special indie film from the grand year 2000. This is a film for serious viewers with deeper interests in film. I wouldn't recommend to someone just because they say they love Villeneuve's Prisoners. I would recommend it to someone who is really into film.

Lana Del Rey: Shades of Cool
(2014)

Del Rey is beautiful
This video is special. Del Rey is amazing as always and of course, beautiful as always. It's a very Del Rey video and another landmark video for Del Rey. She confidently expresses herself and I can always appreciate that. Shades of Cool, the album's title song, is extraordinary. I think the video shows Del Rey as very youthful and her feelings towards men, specifically her taste for an older man. Shades of Cool is a 60s-esque, noir-ish, dreamy, romantic, genuine, and wonderful album. The visuals of Del Rey singing in the video are done very well and really work perfectly for Del Rey. She continues to be an icon of her own.

La double vie de Véronique
(1991)

Beyond Incredible
I love this film. It's the work of a true master filmmaker and it's a masterpiece. Irene Jacobs is perfect in her two roles. Her performance is truly flawless. Everything about this film is beautiful. Just the fact it exists is beautiful. The fact that it happened. Krzysztof Kieslowski made one of cinemas most important films ever. I really wonder what would have came next after the following Three Colors trilogy. This film will continue to inspire me for the rest of my life. I'm taking it to the grave. I love this film on a personal level and I pretty much think anyone with a soul would. Those who agree with me should understand how masterful this film is.

Lana Del Rey: West Coast
(2014)

Lana Del Rey is the best
I think West Coast is a good direction for Del Rey. It's been some time since Shades of Cool's release, and especially since the Shades of Cool video release. Looking back, I still think the album is great. It's definitely in Del Rey's vein. However, I think Del Rey will come out with a better album next time. She still seems to be "working" her way to the top. Hopefully she will release a few more legendary albums that really demonstrate master crafting over style. Shades of Cool is a landmark for Del Rey. It expands upon her already established character. As mature as Del Rey is, I think she is still developing as an artist. She has accomplished A TON, I'm just saying I think she's getting even better and hopefully she will create at least a few more excellent albums.

Lana Del Rey: Summertime Sadness
(2012)

Epic
I'll get this part out of the way first... This song and video has already established itself as a legendary work of art. Summertime Sadness is a historic song. I remember it playing on the radio every single day and night multiple times for a long time. This song owned the summer of 2012 music. Teens and young adults of this time will never forget the song. Del Rey really blew up in popularity with this song and it made her a super star. Currently, I am anticipating her next album and think it will be better. She still sounds very young on Shade of Cool, although matured a little; she's still growing. I hope Del Rey sticks around for at least a couple more decades because I think her best is yet to come.

Belle and Sebastian: The Party Line
(2014)

Excellent!
I love this wonderful musical video. It's fresh, innovative, and amazing. I can just watch it over and over again. I find the music and the video addicting to experience. This is a truly special work of art. I've only listened to a few songs by Belle and Sebastian some few years ago, so I basically stumbled upon this song and video and fell in love with it by the end. The beautiful lead actress, Sofia Banzhaf, is perfect in her role. I'm very unfamiliar with the artist, so my 10/10 says a lot in that way. It gives me that impressed feeling when you experience emotions and sensations on screen for the first time. It would be a dream come true to have been involved in making this video. It's a gem and I'm surprised I'm the first one to review it! I expect the current Youtube Vevo upload view count of half a million to increase well into the millions over the year of 2015.

Antiviral
(2012)

Great Film
I think it's good. Syd March is a great interesting character played by Caleb Landry Jones who is the best fit for the role. Brandon Cronenberg has made a very impressive debut with his first feature film. At my time of writing this, the film has a 5.6 score, which I think is a little under rated.

Tropico
(2013)

Amazing!
Watching "Tropico" was very intense the first time. It's one of the greatest ideas ever. It's still intense. Lana Del Rey did her music justice by doing this. Del Rey's music demanded more than just sound. It's cinematic quality needed this video to communicate the fully. I feel extremely inspired by "Tropico". "Tropico" is going down in history and it's surely just the beginning of what's to come from Lana Del Rey.

Heat
(1995)

in my opinion heat does not get enough credit what do u think
This movie is in my top 10 all time favorites. It's score is 7.9. id give it a 10. its also only 245 in the top 250 movies of all time list. It definitely beats a lot of the movies which beat It's 7.9 score. This movie is great and perfect. I see nothing that should make it only 7.9. you have to agree it should at least be a 9 and closer to 1 then 245. everything in it is perfect. The movie is perfect. it makes me made that its not rated higher. De Niro and Pacino are great in it and its one of their better movies. It's nice and dramatic. This is all just my opinion on the movie. what is yours. And what would you rate it for its score and in the top 250.
