A horror classic A priest hangs himself, opening the Gates of Hell. Can our protagonists close them in time? This taut zombie thriller has guts, which are proudly put on display. The music has a haunting, almost dreamlike quality, laying on a heavy atmosphere of dread. The gore effects are top-notch, as to be expected from Lucio Fulci. With Fulci stalwarts, such as David Warbeck and Catriona delli Colli (Katherine McColl), the acting is on par with other Fulci classics, such as Zombi. The suspense builds to a fiery climax, with an unexpected (and unexplained) twist at the end. If you are a fan of Fulci, or zombies and gore in general, this movie is a must-add to your collection.
