The Dark Knight
(2008)

A Freaking Masterpiece
Before reading this you should probably know that I am a Christopher Nolan fanboy, but that in it's entirety is probably do to this film (along with Inception). That being said I think it's pretty obvious that The Dark Knight stands out as the best and arguably the most important super hero movie to date. Spawning a rebirth in the super hero flick franchises, and turning most of the industry on it's head, this film is by far one of the best films of our generation and all time. The Dark Knight has some of the best (most fast paced) editing (By Lee Smith) that I think has ever been seen in a film. That on top of Heath Ledger's stunning Joker performance; and Chris Nolan's incredible, massive, style of directing makes this film a must see for everyone. An absolute game changer for an entire industry, and above all a film, that is almost too entertaining to bear; there is not a dull moment throughout.

The East

Absolutely Stunning Film
This stands out as one of the most cinematic independent films that i have seen, felt like a real film. Independent films almost always have a great story to tell, as it requires such dedication from the cast and crew to make; therefore wouldn't be made if it did not have something to say. But most independent films seemed to find it except able to feel like and independent film, not saying they suck, it just doesn't feel like you are actually watching a film, and is (rightfully so) normally excused by the audience at film festivals, and in the select theaters it plays at, this film was highly cinematic and overall just told and utterly amazing story. It's the kind of film that keeps you thinking for weeks about the ideas portrayed in the film; and actually makes you want to rethink how you live your own life. All in all a great film to watch, amazing values, a great way to learn about a new life style; and a picture that really just gets you thinking. I'd recommend it for anyone to view.

Brilliant
This film is the perfect example of a no budget film that was only possible through the effort of people who are amazing at what they do. One of the best short films I have ever seen. Great for anyone who wants to be a filmmaker. This film was made after the budget for Ryan Connolly's last short film fell through. But rather than give up, he made this short film with the people and equipment that were already down to help him. Not only because of the fact that it was written and filmed so quickly, and still has a nice flowing and interesting storyline, but also because of the fact that this film is so inspiring to the audience of aspiring filmmakers it was directed towards; I am giving this film 9 stars out of 10, for being a work of art!
