I work in healthcare and this show is an accurate depiction of what takes place in a very busy urban Emergency Department. The scenes of intubation, codes, and family grief are real and something that happens on a daily basis if not hourly. People complaining about camera angles need to realize that healthcare workers that are part of the "action" often feel disjointed and out of control we just have a better way of disguising it! This show shows that there are always subplots to the action that is occurring and occasionally that are bright spots! With only 2 episodes so far I say give it a chance you might learn something about healthcare. Noah Wylie is a great person to headline this show.
I'm not sure what people expect from shows. But they have to know that there violence and horror involved with westward settlement. This depicts the tough times and the perils that were faced. When you see the headings at the start of the episodes you know that there is graphic violence and unsavory episodes that are going to be shown so instead of trashing the whole franchise move on to a fairytale instead of a gritty depiction! That being said this is a well acted period piece of the westward expansion. It depicts women's plight during this precarious period in our history. If you can stand the reality, it is worth the time to watch it.
What I hate about reviews these days is that so many reviewers project their political views into giving nasty and hateful reviews so they can try to influence if a show is likeable to a majority of the viewers!
That being said this show is brilliant in showing that a woman can be both intuitive and insightful. Kate as an ambassador is very adept in discerning what is the best way to navigate the terrorist attack that occurred against the British government. She is able to see the nuances and hidden agenda of nefarious individuals.
The series gives a little of everything: espionage, romance, and intrigue. It was very addictive and well spent time. I'm looking forward to Season 2!
