Black Swan
(2010)

Perfection comes at a cost...
Perfection comes at a cost. Pain. Doubt. Fear. It's a sickness really. The thirst to be perfect will drive a person mad. And that's exactly what happened to poor sweet Nina. The White Swan turned black as everything grew out of control. As the swan finally rests she did so contently. Finally reaching perfection in her eyes. Which leads us to think was all this all worth it?

After all these years I finally got a chance to watch ' Black Swan'. As the credits finally began to roll I was left speechless. I don't remember a time when a movie left me feeling this way. I was watching this movie way past midnight and I was hooked to the screen throughout. I was invested in the character of Nina and her descent into the Black Swan.

This was such a beautiful yet tragic film. I will go as far as to say it's a masterpiece of cinema. Darren Aronofsky did an outstanding job crafting this film. I would like to check out his other films now. I did see ' Mother' though. The entire cast was phenomenal. Natalie Portman deserved every bit of that Oscar win. She has never been better. Truly remarkable. Vincent Cassel, Winona Ryder, Barbara Hershey, and Mila Kunis, all did great jobs as well. I was invested in all their characters. Even if the character of Lily may or may not have been real in most of the film.

Such a well-crafted story that's truly haunting. It was scary in more ways than one. You feel every emotion, every broken glass, every snapped bone. Nina who started out as being a sweet, timid, fragile, and innocent, little cygnet, transformed into an adult Woman swan by the films end. By the films end, I didn't know what the hell was happening in the most wonderful way. I just can't describe this film. It stays with you long after the credits roll.

Joker
(2019)

Send in the clown...
Last night I finally got to watch this film. 'The Joker' is thrilling from beginning to end. This take on the very iconic character was just so intriguing. Arthur is such a fully realized character. His story is both a tragedy and a comedy. The movie follows this character from the misunderstood tragic clown to his descent into madness. And Joaquin Phoenix captures all of this really well with his Oscar-worthy performance. He's one hell of an actor. This movie works so well because of him.

Yes, there are a lot of similarities and homages to several films like ' Taxi Driver' but I think Todd Phillips and everyone did such an amazing job making this movie so it stands on its own. The score by composer Hildur Guonadottir was terrific as well.

I think a lot of people can relate to a character like Arthur. He's the forgotten man. The weirdo. Cast aside by society. No one gave a crap about him and it's a real shame. The system failed him and many others. Mental illness is such a big problem in society and I feel we all need to be better at understanding and being supportive. You never truly know what's going on in someone's mind. We as a society create monsters. A person can only take so much until they just snap. And Arthur definitely snapped. His message may not be entirely wrong and we can all agree with him on some points, but his actions certainly were wrong. Send in the clown...

The Walking Dead: A New Beginning
(2018)
Episode 1, Season 9

It truly is " A New Beginning"!
I thought it was a great premiere. It did everything it needed to do. The IMBD score doesn't do it justice. All these ridiculous 1 star reviews. The character work was great, the dialogue, writing, score, direction, cinematography, and acting, were the best they've had in years. Lauren Cohan and Andrew Lincoln were great as always. And their dialogue together was great. It set up a intriguing season ahead. All the acting was really good as usual though. It was a very character focused, and zombie focused premiere. It got back to why we loved the show. The smaller character scenes( mainly the original cast),and the look and feel and how fresh it is, are the best parts I think in the episode. I can't wait until episode 2! It should be a good one. Maggie's decision to execute Gregory, may start some dialogue within the communities about the rules and what happens if they don't follow them. I agree with Maggie's decision100%, but I think she should have had a vote with the community leaders first. I bet they'd agree. I like how Angela Kang is writing this Maggie and Rick disagreement. These characters will have to choose which side their on. And Daryl has already chose. In the season 8 finale the whole Maggie, Jesus, and Daryl, revenge plot scene was ridiculous and dumb. Making them seem like villains. They respect and love Rick, but they just disagree with Rick's decision to cater to the Saviors and keep Negan alive. They all have different leadership styles. There's no wrong or right way.

Lastly I agree with the decision of not showing Negan in this episode. Next episode he will appear though. We spent 3 seasons with the Saviors and Negan, and this poorly executed war, that people were getting tired. This was a breath of fresh air. It's truly " A New Beginning"!. I encourage all past and present fans to give this season a chance, I know with the departure of Carl, Rick, and even Maggie for a short period of time, it will be hard, but this season is shaping up to be the best in years, with a new and improved Showrunner. Season 7 and 8 may have not been good, but season 9 will be. So please stop hating and nitpicking this season, and be glad that quality is back on The Walking Dead. This episode deserves at least a 8.5 or higher on IMBD, but my personal rating is a 9.2. And that rating could change during rewatches.

Preacher: Angelville
(2018)
Episode 1, Season 3

Welcome Home Jessie!
The first episode of season 3 was fantastic! It had great performances, great dialogue, and fun fantastic action as well. I'm intrigued at the story for season 3 so far.

The opening scene is as weird and great as always. Jessie,Cassidy, and of course Tulip, are as great as always. And they introduced some very intriguing characters in TC( Colin Cunningham), Jody( Jeremy Childs), and of course the creepy and most intriguing new character so far Gran'ma, played brilliantly by( Betty Buckley).

This show has everything. It's very funny, the action is violent, bloody, and well choreographed, it has a creepy horror element to it,great performances and writing, a interesting and intriguing story, it has weird and wacky characters and story. Every season has been great. I'm looking forward to watching more. Oh and the moment Gran'ma says " anything" in her great southern accent, you know you're in for a great season.

Ant-Man
(2015)

Marvel is the bomb, not a literal bomb of course....
I gladly got to see Ant- man on the Thursady night premiere on July 16th, and I got to say Marvel you are literally the bomb. A lot of people were skeptical about this film, but I wasn't one of them, I'm a huge Marvel fan and I own all their movies and watch all their shows , and they haven't let me down once, so why would I have reason to believe they would make a bad film? That's right I didn't. This movie was filled with the most original action scenes, and the humor was hilarious throughout. The script was well written, and that lead to pretty good pacing. The performances from Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, and of course Corey Stoll were excellent, and the rest of the actors did great. The story was good, the direction was good, the costume designs are great as well. The villain is one of the best Marvel has done, even though Ultron was top notch as a villain. Corey Stoll was intimidating and downright psycho, he even was horrible enough to kill a sheep and hold a little girl hostage. I hope we get a sequel real fast, and I think we will, Marvel will be stupid not too. I think Civil War will generate enough buzz for a Ant-man sequel to make money. I'm really looking forward to Marvels next installments, because I love Marvel. I highly recommend this funny, Heist movie, with great original action scenes, and great performances. Please go see this movie.

Fear the Walking Dead
(2015)

A great spin off...
A great spin off from the popular and beloved series the Walking Dead. I loved the original, I tune in every season. This show is as good as the original maybe even better. This show is intense, frightening at times, and filled with great performances. It may be slow for some, but I was entertained throughout. The slowness provides great character development and succeeds in building up for the finale where bad things will happen. Some nice set pieces, great makeup, and a great location. This show is great for horror fans. Hopefully it gets future seasons, and maybe we will eventually get a crossover. So in conclusion I gladly recommend this amazing show, and I hope you do too.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
(2015)

This movie is fantastic...
A stylish action/ thriller with great performances by Henry Cavil( Napoleon Solo), Armie Hammer( Lllya),and Alicia vikander( Gaby). I absolutely loved the humor and the banter between the three leads. The action sequences were well done and entertaining. The script is great, leading to a great story and excellent pacing. This is the definition of a entertaining movie. I'm huge movie fan, I love any genre. I highly recommend this movie, for 60's vibe spy lovers, or if you love fun movies with excellent action sequences and great humor, and if you like entertaining movies. I haven't seen or plan on watching the older series from the 60's, so I don't know how many changes it has from the show. I'm disappointed that this movie didn't make enough money back, because I'm really hoping for a sequel. In conclusion as you can see I loved this movie and hope you do too.
