I had put off watching Presence because of the trailer. I hate when films claim they are going to be the scariest film you have ever seen. That is the phrase that you know will condemn it as not even the slightest bit scary. And of course there was nothing remotely scary about Presence, but it was enough to intrigue me and want to get to the ending. I liked how it was filmed, experimental - yes, but I like the quirky. Do I have questions? Yes. But I don't particularly need them answered. It is a film that you need to take away from it what you will and ponder what it actually means. Would I recommend it? Not if you don't like slow burns. I enjoyed it though, would I watch it again? No. Would I add it to my DVD collection - no.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I put Celebrity Bear Hunt on, but I can at least say that I was not disappointed. I loved watching the chemistry between the celebrities, watching male egos get trampled on and the unlikely succeed. I give all the celebrities full credit because this looked tough. I am 100% sure I wouldn't have made it past one activity, let alone be able to go into the Bear Pit. I wasn't overly impressed with who Bear selected as the winner, but nevertheless, Celebrity Bear Hunt is a great show if you just have some time to kill and enjoy a bit of survival reality television.
I have been following Gabby's case since I first heard about it. I was intrigued to watch this documentary to put all the pieces together and watch the clips. This documentary is as fascinating as it is sad. To see such a beautiful vibrant young lady like Gabby have her life snatched away by an insecure cretin is heartbreaking. The fact that the Laundries who knew what was going on were not prosecuted in any way is shocking too. There are so many if only in this story. If you like watching true crime documentaries then this one is definitely worth the watch. It helps build awareness and makes you want to keep your children a little closer.
