Madeline
(1989)

My Childhood Right Here.
I don't know why, but this show suddenly popped into my head. I remember watching this show when I was little. They always featured this show in the Philippines. It was a nice, heartwarming TV show for children. It was enjoyable and while there are lessons to learn, it wasn't preachy and wasn't being shoved down our throats. This brings back wonderful memories.

Dragonball Evolution
(2009)

This movie is THAT bad.
I hated this movie from the get-go. I knew that this was going to turn out to be so bad just from watching the trailer and behind the scenes of this movie. I didn't even wanna see it, my mom dragged me to see this monstrosity. There I was sitting in the movie theater with Goku training with his grandpa and such.

Then he is the typical bullied boy in high school... HIGH SCHOOL I tell you. Why would Goku be in a high school? That makes no sense. Oh, and he falls in love with Chi chi. Now I didn't watch Dragonball Z when I was a kid but even I KNEW that it wasn't how that happened.

Ugh... I wanted to leave the movie theater so bad because it was just too terrible. From the plot, dialog, script, character casting, and EVERYTHING. Most of the actors don't look like the characters but then again, it was based off an anime so that's understandable. I hated how they portrayed Piccolo in this because he looked so ridiculous.

Anyway, even for a non fan like me, I knew that this movie isn't exactly like the anime and manga. I wasn't even a fan of the anime/manga but even I knew that this is so inaccurate.

I regret spending money on this but I didn't wait for the DVD version of this movie. I saw this movie on television back in 2012 and I still couldn't bear to watch it.

Hey Arnold!
(1996)

This will always be a classic.
I remember when I first saw this cartoon back in 2003. Hey Arnold was one of the first cartoons I saw when I first arrived here from the Philippines.

Despite the fact that it's been a decade since the show ended, I still love this cartoon. Hey Arnold is one of the best cartoons of Nickelodeon because it was realistic, the characters were believable, there's character development, and most of all, it doesn't only focus on Arnold. There are episodes that focus on Helga (who is my favorite characters of all time), Harold, Rhonda, and Gerald.

Whenever I watch this cartoon, I always have a city feeling.

There's always a lesson to be learned after each episodes. This will always be Nickelodeon's classic show and I will never forget this. I recommend this show for everybody. Even adults will enjoy this.

Los amantes del Círculo Polar
(1998)

I LOVE this movie.
This movie is so poetic, deep, and soulful. It all started from Otto's point of view where he was in school throwing paper planes and asking a question. This movie is about coincidences and how the world goes around. After that, we get to Anna's point of view where she is in school with her mother after hearing the news that her father just died. Anna ran away, tripped, and saw Otto, who reminds her of her dead father.

Their names are both in palindromes.

The only thing that I have problem with is the ending. I didn't feel satisfied and I don't really know what happened. In Anna's version, she gets ran over by a red bus in Finland and saw Otto while in Otto's version, he and Anna reunites. I didn't get a resolution.

The biggest coincidence of all is that Anna's mother broke up with Alvarro and left him for a man who is also named Alvarro. The other Alvarro is the son of Otto, a German pilot from Otto's story while Otto is the son of Alvarro.

The sad part in this movie is when Otto's German mother died of depression. I felt really sad for Otto. She must've thought that her own son abandoned her when he left their house so that he could be closer to Anna.

This movie is a work of art and I can tell that the director really worked hard on this craft. He deserved all of the awards that he got for this film. This is my first Julio Medem (last name is in palindrome) movie and I became a fan thanks to this.

Every Witch Way
(2014)

I 've only seen the previews but even they look stupid.
I tried not to be mean since I am aware that this show isn't for me. I am not the target audience of this show (I'm 21) and that this tends to be targeted towards kids.

Now, my cousin likes this show but then again, he's only 6 so it is understandable.

Before the pilot came out, I KNEW that this show is going to be stupid. Blonde, preppy, mean girl? CHECK. Main protagonist who is oh-so-nice? CHECK. Love interest of main character who used to be the mean girl's boyfriend? CHECK. This show is uncreative and it's too cliché.

Plus, the graphics are just horrible. It looks cheap.

The acting sucks and it felt forced. The blonde girl is just trying too hard.

If you're around ages 6-12, then this show might be for you. If you're older? Please, don't bother with this show. It is not worth the time and the energy.

Zoey 101
(2005)

It's been said before, this show is highly unrealistic.
I liked this show when it first came up in 2005. Even then, I KNEW that PCA is beyond unrealistic. I've never been to a boarding school before but a boarding school like PCA doesn't exist. No boarding school has a sushi bar, flat screen televisions, and laptops for each students.

What I liked about the show is that while it isn't believable, I am able to escape reality. Yes, the show isn't the best but it helps me escape from the harsh reality and enjoy living in a fantasy.

The thing that bothered me about this show is Zoey's character, I didn't realize it before but this girl is a big Mary Sue. She is little miss perfect. I couldn't relate to her. In fact, NO ONE could ever relate to her. Who would? She is too perfect-she is smart, pretty, kind, and almost everybody gets along with her. Every boy wants to date her. It is ridiculous because it tends to be exaggerated.

I didn't notice it before but people here have pointed out that Zoey is always right and that she is always the leader. Now that people have mentioned it, they're right. They are doing re-runs of the show yesterday and was able to see it in a new light. Wow, this show is so boring. That's because Zoey has no flaws.

There are some things that I disagree with, the characters are seen studying, opening their textbooks, and being inside a classroom. BUT they only show them doing these Occasionally. Most of the time, they just hang out in the lounge.

I hated the treatment of Quinn and Stacy in this show. They are both weird girls that get treated badly. Sure Stacy is a chatterbox and talks too much but she doesn't deserve to be treated like crap. Quinn's characterization is just awful. They assume that every nerds are weird and such.

Anyways, those are my two cents on the show. I enjoyed the show when I was around 13 since that was when the show first came out. I liked it but I did notice a lot of flaws in the show.
