Cidade de Deus
(2002)

Greatest Movie you will probably See in your Entire Life!
the editing and directing is astound, you will be engaged by the plot. There's no need to get into a huge comment about it, it is simply the best movie you will probably see, definitely the best post 2000. So enjoy

A Huey P. Newton Story
(2001)

smith is astounding as this revolutionary
smith is an excellent actor, and this documentary actually showed this to me. Before when I saw him in miniature characters in Malcolm X, All About the Benjamins, Do the Right Thing, etc. he wasn't scene-stealing. But this Doc. could change your view on him. His timing, delivery, and emotion that he brings to the character actually makes you believe your seeing the real Huey Newton. Everything is well-performed, top notch acting, from the Notorious B.I.G allusions(such as "that boy was notorious" "he said this is the rhymes I'll do when I get big, he was small but figured he was gone' be big") to the dog tom allegory("that's a good boy Tom, get that...chicken...fetch'it, fetch'it) which was about uncle toms, stepinfetchit' "performances".

This a must on your my movies

The Boondocks
(2005)

great comedy which will leave you laughing with gasps!!
the boondocks comic strip, which appeared in April of '99 was a thought inspiring strip, which more times than once, was pulled for it's raunchy messages.

the strip has garnered so much attention that it has become a TV show Broadcasted on Adult Swim. the story centers around the lives of two comical children. the older brother, Huey freeman, is a leftist revolutionary open to racial conspiracy theories. the younger brother is a thug-in-training, whom gravitates towards cliché ghetto-thuggish subjects. both view things differently but makes for much hilarity. the show is a fountain of subtle messages, gushing out through scenes, flashbacks and commentary. so far, in my opinion, the boondocks is a catalyst for debate and discussion(whether you like it or not).

One on One
(2001)

This show is garbage!
this show is one of the stupidest shows i have ever seen. besides the heinous line-up which UPN holds, this one is the most vile. like that All of Us it is pointless. the UPN shows try to portray the black middle-class but instead merely make senseless humor that has little to do with African-Americans PERIOD. Unlike the Cosby Show which was a blueprint for the future description of a black middle-class family(i.e. the Fresh Prince and My Wife and Kids) these shows fail to grasp the Afro-American experience and culture. whereas Cosby, fresh prince and my wife and kids SHOWED and didn't TELL of Black Family Unity, this show as well of All of Us is shows foolish baby-mama drama and the disrespect black men would have for they're child's mother. Cosby, exemplified the sophisticated black middle-class, with witty humor, exemplary fatherhood and taught his children respect for jazz, blues and the like. this show is more about a frivolous child whom tries her father's patience. to say the least the father is not that good, or well played. the child is snappish something which even when will smith joked, he always knew his limits.

my conclusion if you ever see this show on you can either

1) change the channel

2) turn off the TV and run as far away from the TV as possible

or

3) watch the worst programs of the UnderPaid Negro channel
