Love, death and robots isn't youtube so why did it just feel like I came across some random video on youtube that I probably wouldn't have even been bothered to click the like button for, visually it was fine, little boring with no real treat for the eyes, basically looked like celebrity death match with strings, can't think of another episode where there hasn't been at least some sort of story in it, honestly the kind of video I would expect to see made by an up and comer, not the forth season of one of the most refreshing and interesting gold mines of entertainment i have ever come across in years.
Gave it a go after seeing it had a high rating of 7/10, but was cautious as there weren't any reviews yet. It's not good, the sausage party film was passable as I was a huge fan of most of the cast and it was somewhat original but by the mid point of that one I grew tired of the amount of crude humour and was relieved when it was over so I could do or watch something else, this new series suffers from the same issue, it is like being tickled, after the first ten seconds you are done with it. There are moments of heart in the series and some thought obviously did go into the story but keeping engaged with it was from start to finish wad an uphill battle where I had to do the heavy lifting.
Like simon pegg I have basically had to sleep through the first 3 episodes, the writing since season three as been poor but right now it is atrocious, I am sure they know what makes the boys the boys, but the "tweaks" they have made have downgraded this show to mediocre, There is some light at the end of the tunne, but so far has anything actually happened, it all seems like filler and as season 5 has been slated to be the last, I can believe they are just stringing us along until then. Caring for the characters has become hard and apart from Homelander no one is being interesting, the bad guy is almost the only character I care about, how backwards can a program go.
