  • This movie made absolutely no sense! First let me say that I'm not a big fan of comedies, but I have loved just about every Chris Rock movie until this one. For me Top Five was painful to watch. I was thirty minutes in and was begging for the movie to be over already. The only thing that worked for me was the chemistry between Chris Rock and the female co-star. I thought that their storyline was pretty good at times. But other than that this movie was dry. I feel that this was Rock's poor attempt to give us an inside look into his personal struggles, as if we care. And the title "Top Five" makes no sense. I still don't understand the point of him having a conversation with his friends in the middle of the movie about their Top Five rappers. That whole scene should have been a Youtube video instead of a scene in a senseless movie because it had absolutely nothing to do with the movie. There were many elements in this movie that had nothing to do with each other which is why I only gave it 2 stars.
  • War Room is AWESOME! I just saw it today with a couple of sister's in Christ and what an experience! I was extremely impressed by this movie and I already expected it to be good based on the trailers. This story was told so beautifully and with so much heart. The actors were great, especially Karen Abercrombie who played Miss Clara. The messages in this movie were very strong and the prayer at the end was so impactful that I wanted to rush home so that I could do some praying of my own. This movie was so good that our theater was full to capacity (Gainesville, FL), we all laughed throughout the movie, then we gave a tremendous applause at the end and praise unto our God! I've been to many faith-based movies, but never have I experienced anything like that. So I'm calling all warriors to go out and support this movie. You will not be disappointed.
  • First of all let me say that I did read all three books a couple of years ago and I thought the books were OK. Unfortunately, the things that I enjoyed about the book, such as the development of the plot, were non-existent in the movie. Had I not read the books then I would have had no idea what was going on in the movie because the story was poorly told. Of the 4 or 5 sex scenes, I only enjoyed 2 of them. It's important that I point this out because the movie was centered around the sex. Honestly, the books were also centered around the sex but there were other layers that kept me interested. When I read the book I skipped through most of the sex because it was boring and redundant, and the same can be said for the movie. This was one of the most boring movies that I have seen in a long time. I knew that it was bad when couples started walking out of the theatre. I was tempted to walk out as well but I chose to stay because I wanted to see the ending that I had been hearing so much about. All in all, I was very disappointed.
