Gravity Falls
(2012)

What alll cartoons should be
When this show first aired I wasn't much interested, it just looked silly and confusing. I watched a couple random episodes and didn't watch again. Was that ever a mistake. You really have to watch this from the beginning to understand what is going on. It's basically a mini-series and unlike most animated shows, shouldn't be watched out of order. The characters are fun and interesting and the shows, even when they are bizarre and a little frightening, always keep a level of fun and wonder that is missing on much of TV.

Menu for Murder
(1990)

Silly but fun
A low budget made-for-TV movie with no big surprises or disturbing images. The fun of watching it is the great cast of well known 80's TV stars. None of them have much to really work with because of the rather dull script but it's still great fun to see them all together.

Sir Billi
(2012)

Wow....
This has got to be the worst film I've ever seen. The animation is difficult to look at. The characters are rather creepy (why exactly does the goat wear clothes and talk??). And the story, what there is of it, makes little to no sense.

Mary Poppins Returns
(2018)

Very good, yet not perfect
A fun movie that if considered on it's own would be practically perfect however it's a copy of the 1964. Although it's fun and clever and well cast, it's not the original and so has to be considered in respect to the first movie.

Sherlock: Undercover Dog
(1994)

Bad dog.....
I'm a big Sherlock Holmes fan and when I saw this VHS in the .25 cent bin at the local thrift store I though it might be fun to see a dog's interpretation of the classic literary figure. Wow what a terrible movie. It has nothing to do with Sherlock Homes methods, the directing is just plain terrible, even for a low budget movie. The bad special effects and corny storyline, that makes little to no sense, create the impression that nobody cared to make this a good movie, which is a shame since the basic idea of a Sherlock Homes dog solving crimes might be fun. Only watch this if you are really into badly made movies and love watching all the errors.

Sherlock Holmes und das Halsband des Todes
(1962)

Watchable
A watchable movie. The dubbing is a bit odd but the acting is quite good and the story is interesting enough.

The Emoji Movie
(2017)

I hate my phone now
I can usually find something good in any animated movie I see but not this one. Ugh. I'm not sure I even want to use a smart phone again.
