Jane the Virgin: Chapter Eighty-Six
(2019)
Episode 5, Season 5

Gut wrenching
These last few episodes have been stressful to watch. In the beginning I was not team Michael but I grew to really love his character and his relationship with Jane after toning down the Rafael jealousy. At the same time, I wanted Jane and Raf to end up together at some point. So even though Michael's death was so sad (I cried hard), it was finally a way to let Jane and Rafael be a couple. HOWEVER, Rafael's attitude in this episode is appalling. I understand he's hurt, but it's not Jane's fault that her dead husband came back! Also, HE was the one that originally pushed Jane away and claimed he didn't love her, and then changed his mind later. None of this would've happened if he hadn't been so immature, and he's being completely immature again! Letting Mateo hate Jane when Raf is the one who busted up their family, and putting so much pressure on Jane in such an unfair situation! Michael had the right response, saying he just wanted Jane to be happy. He's selfless and Raf is always selfish. I'm not even done with the episode yet, but Rafael is really making me mad!! So it must be great acting and a good story!

Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin: Chapter Ten: Final Girls
(2022)
Episode 10, Season 1

Finale wasn't as good as the rest of the show
So, I loved the build up to this finale. The show was really good...much more suspenseful than The Perfectionists spin-off. But this is what I don't like. First of all, making the principal the one pulling the strings was pretty random. He didn't seem old enough to believably be Angela's father, and it was completely unnecessary. Knowing that A was Angela's brother was enough of a twist.

Secondly, and even more ridiculous, the girls' mothers were supposed to be targeted because they did something WORSE to Angela than sheriff Beasley raping her. They ignored her?! That's it???? Everything else the mothers did to Angela was far worse. Unless they're intentionally leaving something out, because the very first episode showed Angela begging for help. It looked more like she was assaulted that night, not before then. It just doesn't make sense that their huge "sin" was ignoring Angela. There should've been something more devious to make someone that angry and to make Davie feel guilty enough to take her own life.

It was kind of a lame finale to an otherwise really good show. I'm definitely going to tune in for the next season though! I'm hoping they fill in some blanks.

Criminal Minds: 100
(2009)
Episode 9, Season 5

The most emotional episode of the series
To see the ever stoic Hotch reduced to a helpless and distraught mess is agonizing. You feel the tension throughout the episode as you try to figure out exactly what happened. You know something terrible took place but you're not exactly sure what. The entire story is executed perfectly, all the way to the end. Hotch, and the entire team, actually having to listen to Haley's final moments was the breaking point. Hoping there was time to save her but knowing Foyet would never be that merciful. And then Foyet thinking he had the ultimate power over Hotch by "surrendering" after murdering Haley...because he never believed Aaron would bend the rules, never mind BREAK THEM, by not taking him into custody. He wanted to break Hotch but didn't expect him to lash out like that...fatal mistake. I think they ended this story arch perfectly because there was no way Hotch could properly feel closure with Foyet alive, especially knowing he'd escaped once before.

Saddest episode, but definitely one of, if not THE best.

Community: Digital Estate Planning
(2012)
Episode 20, Season 3

Best Episode
I'm a new Community fan....just started watching it on Netflix and have already finished the series and started it over. THIS episode is definitely my favorite, with the claymation episode as a close 2nd. The nostalgia factor is fantastic, and it's just super hilarious. One of the most creative things I've seen on a sitcom. Makes me wish this game actually existed, lol.

The Handmaid's Tale: Sacrifice
(2019)
Episode 12, Season 3

I'm disappointed in June....and Serena...and a bit confused
Maybe I'm not understanding her motivation, but I'm disappointed in June. She seems to be very selfish lately. Poor Eleanor was suffering, but 1) June could've saved her and then helped her escape to Canada where she could get the real treatment she needed. 2) Without Eleanor, what does Lawrence have to live for? Why was June so sure he'd still help her when the whole reason he agreed was because he wanted to get his wife out?? Eleanor was becoming a bit of a liability, but they could've controlled her for just a little longer. I don't like how this played out at all.

Also, I was starting to like Serena at one point, but now I don't. She, too, is purely selfish. First she wants Nicole out of Gilead for a better life, then she's desperate to have her back and will stop at nothing to get her? I appreciate that she loves Nicole like a real mother (I think?....I'm still not completely sure), but now that she's out of Gilead, what does she think is going to happen? She can't live happily ever after with Nicole in Canada. SHE ISN'T NICOLE'S MOTHER. And she CERTAINLY can't go back to Gilead with her.... especially without Fred. Serena should be kept locked up. She's not sorry about anything and still believes in Gilead and her husband. Makes no sense.

It's like everyone went rogue and lost sight of the endgame. Guess I'll see in the last episode.

Jacob's Ladder
(2019)

I Liked It
I've never seen the original, so maybe that's why I don't get the hate for the movie.....but I thought it was good. It kept you guessing until the end. The ONE clue I picked up on was when Jacob and Issac were in the car at night going to see who makes the drug (allegedly), and BOTH reflections in the car windows were of Jacob. So, I liked it....I'll just have to see the old one to see the fuss.

Dark Phoenix
(2019)

Confused
I love the X-Men movies, and started to love them even more when they brought in First Class and Days of Future Past....I love when things tie together neatly....but this didn't. The X-Men films aren't without their flaws, but generally I find them to be entertaining, and the X-Men were always my favorite Marvel heroes. Other than them and Spider-Man, I'm more of a DC fan.

This movie just didn't make sense to me. Why is Kurt part of the team now when he didn't originally appear until X-Men 2? I think he showed up in an earlier movie too, but I'll get to that in a minute..... How the HECK could they have killed Raven, when she's supposed to become Mystique and join Magneto? How are you going to make Charles Xavier quit being the headmaster of the school and CHANGE THE NAME to Jean Grey School?? How do you kill of Jean Grey before she's even met Logan??!!!

If there was some sort of timeline alteration, then it would explain (and then fix) Kurt, Raven's death, and Charles leaving the school. What I was expecting to happen was Jean's powers allowing her to go back and change time. I watched until the end of the credits to see if maybe there was an extra scene to explain an alternate timeline or SOMETHING...but it didn't happen.

The movie itself wasn't terrible...I think it was a decent movie for what it was, but it didn't fit into the franchise at all and I don't understand why....

Secret Obsession
(2019)

Meh...
There are a lot of stalker/obsession movies out there, and this had the potential to be somewhat original! Unfortunately they missed the opportunity and fell flat.

First of all, you gave the key plot point away in the trailer. We already know this guy isn't her husband, so I was expecting there to be some other twist, but there wasn't.

Secondly, what was the importance of the creepy guy in the convertible? They made him seem super important up until "Russell" killed him and buried him in the backyard. Why put so much emphasis on his presence, his testimony, and him bringing Jennifer flowers if it was literally for no reason. I guess they tried to use him to show that "Russell" is a homicidal maniac, but they went about it the wrong way.

Thirdly, how long ago had "Russell" killed Jennifer's parents that they were already decaying in their bed? The timeline wasn't well established so you couldn't really get a sense of how long it took for events to happen. Also, no one noticed or seemed concerned about their neighbors?? The mail was piling up and I would assume that level of decay would cause a reeeeeaaaally strong odor.

Fourth, what was the significance of the detective's missing daughter, other than trying to humanize him and give him an interesting back story....btw, it did neither.

Lastly, how in the world did "Russell" think he was gonna take Jennifer home in the midst of a police investigation and the detective wouldn't look into the fact that he gave a fake address and phone number?? Not great villain work dude.

I was disappointed because, what I thought was happening, was the mystery convertible guy was the actual mastermind and "Russell" was just being used....or something. But no, he was just some random concerned citizen.

All in all, it was entertaining like a Lifetime movie, and most of the acting was decent, but it was just a poorly written story that fell short of what it could've been.

Singularity
(2017)

Yikes!
It's like a knock off Hunger Games, Maze Runner, Eagle Eye, and Terminator, except 1000 times worse......what was John Cusack thinking?!?! He was acting more like Nicholas Cage, *shudders*. Not even laughably bad, just painfully bad. If you see an amazing trailer of some obscure movie you've never heard of, chances are the actual film is horrible....this movie proves that point.

What Still Remains
(2018)

It's Like a Pre-teen Wrote It...
So my mom and I watched the trailer of this and we were like, "hmmm, this looks interesting!".....boy were we wrong. Like other reviewers have said, it was like the pilot of a bad tv show. The story was so muddled and confused like a distracted adolescent had written it. The pace was very strange too....it all happens so fast you are left wondering "what did I just watch?" It probably could've been an interesting story if anyone involved had actually tried, but it definitely fell way short. If you took some popular movies and shows, Cut them up, and glued them back together in a large collage, this movie is what you would get.
