finally ABC gets it right !! LoveLy Laura Vandervoort VEE VA las lizard aliens !!! very happy to see this remake got the green light from the powers that be at ABC, my number one reason to tune in of course, is the lovely Laura vandervoort, the same gorgeous Canadian-dutch beauty who saved smallvilles ratings on the WB or the CW or whatever next alphabetical configuration they will call it next. i saw the first V series in the 80's , yeah the ''big hair'' eighties HAHA, from that V, a young Freddy Krueger (rob england) was cast as a lizard alien which was fun ! pretty good casting on the current V, with Morena B. as the evil alien lizard queen, but did not really buy the FBI agents? the set decor on their office looked pretty cheap by network standards. slow to start and some of the dialogue was kind of lacking, Scott Wolfe not really the best choice to play a world known anchorman, excellent FX on the UFOs and designs, really top rate and on par with stargate, etc.
best lesson to come away with is this ---->> you don't need dozens and dozens of background characters to make a good show effective, which is why V works so good !! they have about five or six main players which allows the viewer to follow the action, a far cry from how bungled mess shows like LOST and flashforward have ''too much going on to ever keep up with'' i used to watch lost until they started adding all those new people they didn't need , nice direction on V last night by the way !! not choppy at all, and no vegematic slice em dice em editing fakery like on flash forward, which i watched one time but it left me ice cold. smart to see ABC run V against that horribly over rated ncis show, hope it takes a alien bite from their wildly inflated ratings.
