Club Zero is categorized as a comedy/drama/thriller but in my opinion it's just a drama. Not really thrilling and certainly not funny or whatsoever. Not a bad drama though. It's all about control, brainwashing, dieting and self control. Almost like the beginning of a cult. Everything looks very minimalistic, from the decor to the dialogues to the cinematography. The acting was good and that from the entire cast. Mia Wasikowska plays the weird brainwashing teacher and did a convincing job. It's all watchable, just don't expect too much action as it's mostly deep conversations about basically eating disorders. I don't know if they tried to make a point, but it's a fact there is a lot of bad food on the market, just look around you if you live in the USA and you will see the results of bad nutrition everywhere. It's not a coincidence the vast majority is obese or has diabetes, it's all about what you eat.
You can rate Fight Or Flight totally differently. If you are looking for some easy entertainment then I would rate it a seven as it was non-stop action spiced up with some light humour, all fighting scenes well choreographed and a cast that did a good job playing their respective characters. If you are looking for a serious story then you will probably score it much much lower as it is anything but serious. Almost nothing makes sense in this story, certainly not in this day and age where you can't even take a bottle of water on board, so knives, guns and chainsaws smuggled onto the plane is just ridiculous. That said I enjoyed watching it as I don't take anything serious. Just think about what you're looking for before watching this one.
Bring Them Down is a good Irish drama/thriller. Not easy to watch sometimes if you love animals like I do. Even if you know an animal is not really getting hurt in a movie I still have difficulties with it. You can chop a human in thousand pieces in a movie and I can't be bothered but when it's an animal I find it hard to watch. And in Bring Them Down there are a couple of those difficult scenes but that's what makes this movie stand out as you feel real anger towards some characters. Also great acting from the entire cast, especially from Barry Keoghan and Christopher Abbott. If you don't master the Irish dialect you will need subtitles though. Luckily there are not a lot of those scenes, personally I didn't understand a word of it. A good watch if you have a strong stomach.
