Anna Karenina
(2012)

A word about McFadyen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Alicia Vikander
First of all, I share most of the bad reviews. Kind of long, the theater set up is weird at the beginning, and so on. On the other hand, the rest of the cast that I don't mention on the title of my review, impresive as usual. That said, McFadyen, every time I see him work, I remerber his powerful portrayal of priest Phillip in The Pillars of the Earth, that guy never dissapoints, even when he portrays a secondary. Vikander, you know guys, the first movie of hers that I watched, was some thing about guns, with Ewan McGregor. She was a secondary there as in this movie. When I watched the gun movie, I wondered myself, Who is this girl?. Great actress and beautiful, but next door beautiful. Not something that you couldn't dream about. I love her. I am glad to see how her career has taken off since this movie. But the most impresive thing for me , was Aaron Taylor-Jonhson. Kick Ass dude. You know that it was watching the credits that I realised that he was Vronsky in this movie. And this is not the first time that this happens to me with one of his portrayals. It was the same for me with Outlaw King. A secondary character there too, but I couldn't believe that for the second time that I had watched him act and I hadn't been able to recognize him. All of this, after having seen him on Kick Ass. This guy is gonna have a great career. He is young and chameleonic without changing his weight or anything. Pure acting. So there, this is what I have to say about this movie. It's worth the watch, considering all the bad reviews. At least once. I gave it an 8 just because of the pleassure that I had watching the aforementioned portrayals. But the movie itself, not that great. Iwatchet this movie in February 2022, by the way.

Rocketman
(2019)

It kept remainding me about Eddie the eagle
Of course, same star(Tareon Eggerton), and same director,( Sergeant Martin from Band of Brothers). Dexter Fletcher. You know, all the musical bits from this movie are awesome. The acting, awesome too. Jamie Bell, Bryce Dallas Howard, and everyone. The grandmother too. But there was something about the movie, that I can not really put mi finger on, that didn't work. So that's the reason why I give a 5 to the movie, but it's worth a watch.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It
(2021)

Nothing new here
Full of the same chliches than most of the "scary" movies. There are at least a couple of scenes that are a copy of The exorcist.(When the priest arrives at the house in wich the exorcism will take place, the way the kid moves when possesed). The only thing I liked of this movie was a couple of moments almost at the end, in wich every one of the "good" women save the live of their love interest. Just because of that, I give this a 4.

The Story of Diana
(2017)

I'm in my late forties,
And I grew up with the story of Lady Diana. This before cable tv. I really think that she tried to use her position, her place in the world, to make lives of unfortuned people, better. I really think that papparazzis are a bunch of assholes and they should all be shot.

Army of the Dead
(2021)

Even for a zombie movie standar, this is really bad.
It's really boring, the soundtrack doesn't seem to fit in the movie, there is a song that was in the soundtrack from Excalibur (John Boorman), the one from the eighties. I had more fun remembering that movie while I was watching this other junk. And another thing, ¿Is there plagiarism for movies?. There are 2 or 3 scenes that are exactly the same as some scenes in Aliens (James Cameron). Even a female character uses the same kind of bandana around the head as used by a female character in the aforementioned Aliens. Check it out, if you want. And watch this pile of garbage of Army of the Dead on your own risk of absolute boredom. I give this a one.

Death Wish
(2018)

A nice surprise
Bruce Willis lately has not been doing really good movies, kind of the opposite, but this one was pretty entertaning. It's an action flick, so your expectations must be accordingly. I have not seen the original one, since this is a remake, but I kind of wanna watch it now, to compare. All in all, a really good paced movie.

Star Trek: Discovery
(2017)

Star Soap Opera
Boy did Netflix drop the ball on this one. It just got so melodramatic and cheesy. In almost every episode someone cries(mostly Michael Burnham), someone gives an inspirational speach, and so on. The most terrible thing was to watch Captain Pike telling more than once that the crew was "his family" or even worse, Spock saying "I love you". I must say that this second season was very hard to end watching. I cringed at every one of those excesive cheesy lines or scenes. I would cut some slack to the actors an even the directors, though, they just work with the material they are given. I blame the writers and the producers. Having watched every Star Trek series and movies, I must say that this one goes very far from what Star Trek is about. Granted, human relations are an important part of this show, but this time they just overdid it. I share most of the negative reviews . I just wonder how does it get kind of a high score.

(T)ERROR
(2015)

FAKE. ¡MOCKUMENTARY.!
It didn't take me long to realize that this was totally bogus. I watched it on its entirely, though. These kind of mockumentaries don't help. Waste of time.

Ray Donovan: A Girl Named Maria
(2018)
Episode 6, Season 6

I love this show, but I'm just reviewing the sixth episode of the sixth season
Deeply impresed with Dash Mihok's acting in this one. And Masan too. You know, the scene with the Mihok's character daughter. Dude, I almost cried.

Stalkers Who Kill
(2015)

They droped the ball...
The idea for this series was great, have some actors to act out the part of the protagonists, but the producers really messed up when they decided not to act up the final events of every chapter. There is no real climax here, the show failed at that. So, having said that the idea was great, the execution was really poor. Just for that, I give this a 1.

Definitely, Maybe
(2008)

God, this movie was so bad
Even my wife fell asleep. And this is a chick movie. Really unbelievable script. Really like the actors, tough, nothing to criticise here about them, but the script was so bad....

He's Out There
(2018)

I expected less
For an "slasher" movie, this is pretty good. And it doesn't seem to have a big budget either. Loved the acting, from the starring mom and from the little girls, too. I am not an actor,so I guess it must be really tough acting really scared, particularly if you are a kid. They pulled it off. Good flick.

The Devil and Father Amorth
(2017)

Beautiful landscapes
That´s the best thing that I have to say about this sad attempt of documentary. And being a lover of William Friedkin´s movies, ( Cruising, To Live and Die in L.A, The French Connection, 12 Angry Men and The Exorcist, of course), I just don´t get how he could fall so low to make this. The "exorcism" shown here looks so fake. Really disappointed. I really hope this is not his last work. I give this a 1.

Is Genesis History?
(2017)

Mockumentary.
It is so sad watching grown up people trying to convince you about the truth of a fairy tale. Are there some true facts in the bible?. Sure. There are some Babylonian, Asirian, Egiptyan and Roman people, kings and whatnot, mentioned in the bible, who are mentioned in another sources. Even some facts, as the Carian rebelion against the Persians. And the Flood, is mentioned also in some other sources, from different cultures around the ancient world. But trying to explain what is mentioned in the book of genesis, as historical fact, that is so far fetched that is not even funny. Kind of scary, actually. I do not have any grievance against these people beliefs. But this is a mockumentary. They don't even interview scientists who could refute the views of the people who is given voice in this sad attempt of science. The only thing good about this, is that it is a good example of Freedom of Speach. I give this a 1.

Random Hearts
(1999)

I had already seen it once...
... but I couldn't remember the ending. I caught it again in Netflix, and I realized why. What a cheesy ending. But the premise of the movie is good. Entertaining.

House of Cards
(2013)

Just once before I have seen such a bad ending,
....for a show that started so well, and had many good seasons. It was the show Lost. And the breaking the fourth wall thing, just worked out for Francis Underwood, not for Claire. And they over did with her. Even the few times that Doug did it, worked out better. Everything else has been said. I'm glad it's over. Big disappointment.

The Walking Dead
(2010)

It's all been said in the last reviews
I just don't get how the ptoducers of this show don't realize that it had a good run, but it's over. Kill it with some dignity.

Velvet Buzzsaw
(2019)

Really boring
God this movie was boring. As I always say, it's seldomly the actors fault when a movie turns out to be this crappy. It's ussually the script the guilty part. This movie reminded me about a Tom Berenger's work in a short series based on a Stephen King's book. It's about a painting. Don't remember the name now, but it was made in 2006. Way better than this piece of crap.

Den of Thieves
(2018)

Great action movie
Great action scenes, decent work on the character development. Great acting as usual with this actors. The only thing that spoiled this movie for me was that it has too many scenes that reminded me of Michael Mann's "Heat". Maybe it's a homage, I don't know for certain. The ending reminded me of another great "heist" movie, but I'm not gonna say which one so not to spoil it for anyone. I really would like to see more work from this director, just with a more original script. I give this an 8.

The Nun
(2018)

For the sake of the Universe, this movie is bad
A poor attempt of a mixture of some Harry Potter and The Mummy. You are supposed to get scared, ¿right?. I laughed throughout most of the movie. This is a comedie. I give this piece of jumk a solid 1. Hollywood just stopped trying...

Bullet Head
(2017)

The subplots spoiled this movie
This could have been a very decent action flick, the main idea is great, but the personal stories of every one of the main characters kind of breaks the pace. I loved the way in what was shown the "main villain" point of view. Great cast, but at some points, the script was really bad.

The Mercy
(2018)

¡So boring!
God this movie was boring. Really boring. Nothing to do with the performances of Colin Firth, Rachel Weisz or David Thewlis. They are all great actors and I have enjoyed many movies with them. In my humble opinion, this is a good story, poorly, very poorly told

Gehenna: Where Death Lives
(2016)

Ha ha ha haaaaa
Children playing with their friends would make a better story than this very sad copy of The Mummy. At least I got a good laugh.

Danny Collins
(2015)

What a great movie
Good Jupiter, guys and girls. I am not a particular fan of Pacino, nor any ofe the guys from the eighties,But what a great movie this one was. Besides the script, you get to realize how important the direction is, and the script. Bobby Cannavale, I have followed you since Third Watch. You did a greatjob here this is a drama, ¿right?. You made me laugh with those subtle looks, to your asshole dad, in the movie. Great, great movie. I give it a ten.

The Lovers
(2015)

The bad reviews for this movie are unfair
It really bugs me that some people trash this movie. Sure, it was not perfect, some things are not really explained, but all in all, it is a nice love story with some good action scenes, nice music and photography. If you like movies set in historical periods, with a fairly good love story in it, you will not regret watching this movie. I do not think it deserves a 10, I give it a 6, but I will rate it with a 10 because of the other unfair reviews.
