No pun intended and for those not initiated or rather in the not know (you lucky .. ones), the main "actor" (it is a stretch calling him that, some even argue if he is a comedian, though I would not go that far, humor is always in the eye of the beholder) has a ... well let's call it saying ... where he says "totally normal"! But he has a spin on it (the way he speaks those words) ... I reckon people find it either super funny or super annoying. There is no in between.

But even his biggest fans - I can't fathom many actually liking what was done here ... what they produced. You can like skits, funny bits as standalone. But I do doubt that the movie as a whole will work for many ... if any. Predictable is one thing ... but this is just ridiculous and even suspension of disbelief won't help.

There are some recognizable German faces (from the entertainment industry, comedy and otherwise) ... not sure if that helps anyone actually enjoying this ... you decide. Weak script, weak story, weak "performances" overall ... I do like the pig ... I like animals in general in case you were wondering ... which is a trivia that is as helpful as anything you will see in this ... or not at all.

No pun intended - did you read the comic books (and I think you can call them that - they were not graphic novels ... unless the term changes over time again)? If you did ... well the beginning will feel refreshing in a sense! The Asterix movies were successful I suppose ... since there are quite a few of them. They vary in quality and in what they translate from the comics.

In this case we start with the pirates ... the pirates that are quite unsuccessful ... to say the least! Or are just bad out of luck (that is the saying right?). And the movie shows us exactly why ... they never seem to be at the right place at the right time ... and they are no John McLane (those who know ... know).

The rest has some interesting choices - especially with the special effects! People being thrown all over the place ... like in the comics. You will either love this or find it annoying ... I thought it was done decently. Not sure if Catherine Deneuve got anything more out of this than a paycheck though ... the humor is borderline ... love or hate it kind of way. So my rating will either be too high for some or too low for others ... which I would argue is me being exactly right (I am half kidding here of course - using the humor of the movie)

Would that be worse than a woman scorned then? No pun intended obviously. Also fair warning and I was surprised too by this: the movie is dubbed in German. Now I don't just mean for release purposes, but generally speaking. Back in the day movies in Europe were shot in multiple languages - and then dubbed upon completion ... Spaghetti Western are the most prominent ones when it comes to those movies.

Jess Franco is quite infamous - and the movie (plus the amount of nudity) is almost insane. There is also some violence (and blood) - but that really feels out of place and quite dated ... like when someone is cut open ... or should I write "cut open" ... as in so little blood, you may think something is wrong.

The main focus is revenge and killing - but there is also a big (fair?) amount of nudity and sexy time (I am calling it that) ... is that something you are comfortable watching? You decide ...
