Debbie Does Dallas
(1978)

It was like watching a porno!!!!! Well, duh.......
I find it remarkable some of the comments that are made in these "reviews"??? One gentleman thought it was like watching a porno? I wonder what he thought it was gonna be.....perhaps a love story, maybe a sports competition. Someone has to have been deep, very deep in the South American jungle to not know the premise of "Debbie Does Dallas". And others comment about how unattractive most of the actors/actresses are. And I imagine all of them are out of the molds of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. I might guess that most of them would give their right arm to spend one night with any of the actresses in the film. One has to remember this movie did not come out of the 2000's. This movie is 30 years old. Much of the technology of today's filmmakers was not available then. As one post commented correctly, this film gave some of the Oscar nominated films of the year a run for their money. And it was not even shown in the mainline theaters for the most part. It was one of the many examples of the destructive forces appearing in a film such as this can have on a person. Many actors/actresses have attempted to start by appearing in a non-participatory sexual role of an X rated film, and some cases a very limited participation such as this one. Bambi experienced a downfall that apparently led to her very untimely death. Kristen DeBell, who was in "Alice in Wonderland", found that even though she was attempting to get into the mainstream films her involvement proved to be her death knoll in the industry. However, Julianne Moore who appeared in Boogie Nights didn't suffer the same results. So when we talk about these films we need to realize we are talking about a very volatile, unpredictable group of films and participants involved in their making.

Big, Bad John
The only negative I can think of regarding this film is that it was filmed two years after Holmes was diagnosed HIV-Positive. And he withheld that information from the industry. How egotistical of him to expose these gals and not have made them aware. And only a few years lated that he succumbed to AIDS. The film itself takes on the comedic charm of Ron Jeremy. It was one of the earlier films of Ali Moore who was also on the edge as far as age, much like her following costar Traci Lords in Wild Things. I have thought Ali brought more appeal to the screen than Traci ever did. But each of us are entitled to our own opinions which accounts for the variety we have available. Christy Canyon has always been over the top for me. Always been outstanding body, but little more. Again I would select Ali over Christy every time.

Ripper
(2001)

C'mon, does no one get the connection?
I viewed this movie basically because of A J Cook, who is now in the new TV Series "Criminal Minds". In the beginning I was like many(most) of the commenters on here. I played the ending twice to determine the killer. Then, the switch went on. This IS a movie with connections to Jack the Ripper. And there has never been definitive proof of who he was.

Aha, there is no definitive proof of who the killer is in this movie.

So, let's move on. Perhaps this is the answer to the oft asked question about the ending, perhaps not. But the logic makes considerable sense. As far as I know, none of the directors dialogs has ever addressed this issue.

I vaguely recall a movie back in the 60's that had an ending that was left entirely to the viewer's interpretation. It began as a black and white movie, and then as a female is killed and she begins to bleed the blood turns to red and the movie becomes a color movie. One of the best transitions I can recall. I cannot recall the name of that movie. However, at the conclusion you were left to decide the ending.

Cant even be considered horror
This camcorder tape cant even be classified horror, and would be an insult to the outstanding horror directors to have it labeled as such. It is the result of two very sick and twisted depraved examples of individuals who think they can be the next Blair Witch producers. Nothing is further from the truth. It is a fine basis for them being able to commit a heinous crime and be able to present a defense of INSANITY. It would appear similar to the result of two freaked out, doped up teenagers who would next think of attempting to simulate the Columbine incident. I have viewed most of the top listed horror or disgusting films and would not even consider this to be in the running. As I started my comments, this is not even a film. And I would not give it the satisfaction of being something worth rating. I listed it as 1/10 because that is the least one can to to proceed with their comments.

It don't even fall in the category of the Guinea Pig series. Those can be seen for what they are. This is nothing.

The Inside
(2005)

Am looking for it in the coming season
I have found this on my must see list of shows for the week. It has a number of hooks that brings me back each week. The reference to Silence of the Lambs has definite merit. However, I have seen a number of other comparisons such as Coyote's vague similarity to Mark Harmon. But, I still go back to the show for it's own merit. I have hope that the show will survive and be on the coming season's lineup, or brought back in at mid-season. I think Locke has the ability to carry the character which she has demonstrated up to this point. She recently made the adjustment to become one of the crowd, and attempt to lose her standoffishness.

Show has its flaws, but give it a chance
It is frustrating to see the people who seem to feel a new show, in particular it's pilot, should be able to stand up the the 4 and 5 year old shows that have had their opportunity to develop during their first season and then become among the top ten programs of the week.

We have read comments about the character Kyra is portraying, and set aside the fact that we(at least I don't) don't need another character such as we see each week in Law & Order, CSI, etc.

The writers are developing a character which Kyra is doing a fine job of portraying. She has several characteristics which don't belong among those of a leader. But I have always found leaders over the years have found varied ways of leading. There are no set guidelines and rules to be followed.

One of the comparisons I read was one that I had, after watching only two episodes. To me, she is the female Columbo. And look at the success that program had after Peter Falk had the chance to develop his character. She exhibits the seemingly forgetfulness at times and the innocent entrapping approach in some of her encounters with citizen characters. The comments eluding to her eating habits should take into consideration, again this is a character developing.

Referring to her seemingly bad southern accent needs to be subjected to the real south. Not the large metropolitan areas where the southern accent is no longer existent, since it has been diluted by all the migration of the non-crackers. As I first was subjected to the south when relocating from Indiana, I found at times I couldn't even understand some of the conversations. Yes, Toto there are still areas where "Hey, ya all" is still a much used term.

I agree that the scene with the "Sue me" response was outstanding and caused more laughter on my part than anything has for some time.

This is only my second comment to any TV show, and I find it insulting that someone would be suspicious of me due to the fact I have not made a number of comments yet. I wonder if that commenter's initial reviews were also suspect. I have only done two since this has been my initial entry into this field in response to IMDb's effort to direct people here from it's homepage. I would tend to believe that could be the reason many others are making their first review. I don't sluff off the fact that there are undoubtedly corporate people who attempt to weight the reviews, but give the masses their due respect and you may get your respect.
