Unknown Dimension: The Story of Paranormal Activity
(2021)

Palatable, but disappointing
While Unknown Dimension offers plenty of insight into the making of the Paranormal Activity films (seeing as I'm a huge fan of the series) and some rare behind-the-scenes pictures and videos, it doesn't really deliver much in terms of deleted scenes / unseen footage aside from what comes up in Parts 4 & 5. It opened up a lot of doors and then all of them slammed shut. Not to say that the film is bad, I just expected more footage, specifically scenes that were cut out and used in the trailers, but I think it's as good as it gets. I've haven't seen the latest PA film, but I'm sure that one didn't fare any better than this documentary. That being said, it's worth a watch, but don't expect too much out of it.

The Disaster Artist
(2017)

A good story to one of the greatest bad movies ever made
Oh hi Mark, I was hyped to see this movie ever since I saw the trailers. The Disaster Artist is a biography of what it was like making The Room; which seemed to start out as a good concept in the pre-production stages, but once it got to the troubled production - the movie goes to show that life can be hard and that accomplishing your dream is far from easy. The cast was noble especially the Franco brothers as Tommy and Greg, and overall, I thought the film delivered a virtuous significance. Now that I think of it, this is probably just as good or even better than The "actual" Room! Don't you agree?

Transformers: Dark of the Moon
(2011)

The last GOOD Transformers movie...
I love this movie, especially by the fact it's an action one - and Michael Bay sure knows how to do an action film right! The last hour or so of the film really blew my mind, so much fun and games for everyone. Not only that, but I find it to be in my top list of the best films of all time; I may have seen most of the greatest films ever made and had different opinions on them, but none of them I have seen can top this film here! An exhilarated masterpiece to the live-action Transformers saga out of the three films I own and the last GOOD one that I know of. Going forward, the films fluctuate in quality: some being good or bad, but none of them can recapture the magic of three.

My Little Pony: The Movie
(2017)

A very resplendent movie
Wow, there's "No Better Feeling" that could describe this experience; I can see a rainbow after all. When the intro begins, I get chilly over the staggering soundtrack. There it is, in all of its glory: MY LITTLE PONY: THE MOVIE. And almost instantly, we dive into the exploit.

The one thing that REALLY stands out for this movie is the animation; it looks magnificent and resplendent for its time especially in contrast with the TV series. It really makes the characters all vivid and vigorous; did I even mention the celebrity cast involved? Songbird Serenade blew my mind, especially by the fact that she's played by Sia herself - and while her original song "Rainbow" wasn't all that astonishing, I'll still give credit to the grand soundtrack that this movie provided as I was told that Daniel Ingram would be composing it with a full orchestra.

Sure, the movie did remind me of "The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie" and "Lilo and Stitch" based on its borrowed elements - but it was still stunning for this type of storyline. Overall, I thought that the movie was all bright, smart, clever and observant - especially the collaborative, action-packed ending - even if it didn't meet up to all expectations. As for any-pony? Feel free to take time out of your life to enjoy this cinematic masterpiece. We got this together!

It
(2017)

Genuinely terrifying
Just got out of the new IT movie and I utterly thought it was spine-chilling! I'll have to give as much credit to the cast, direction, cinematography and musical score for what made this film all that worthwhile. There's plentiful scares often at a nightmarish level and most certainly, I have to agree with the critics that this movie is an immense improvement over the TV-miniseries - which can be seen as tame by today's standards. If you get the chance to catch this movie before IT'S too late, you'll surely float too!

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic
(2010)

So... awesome!
I became a Brony back around 2012 and heard about this show called Friendship is Magic, so when it came time to watch the whole series on Netflix - I thought it was good. Sure, there was probably a few episodes I didn't appreciate - mostly because the characters make dick moves (i.e. Twilight going insane on the episode: "Lesson Zero") - but easily those moments are resolved in the end.

Another deliberate flaw I found in the series was this character named Diamond Tiara, who was mostly a manipulative b*tch at the Cutie Mark Crusaders for being "blank flanks" and on several occasions would harass other ponies (which is why I started to dislike her immensely); but even she shows faith in the episode: "Crusaders of the Lost Mark" and I assume the reason for her reputation is because of her family reprimanding her and that's the reason why she got pushed over the edge.

Returning to the pros; the songs are terrific and quite catchy for its time, especially the Babs Seed one - which is now stuck in my head and pretty much remains my all-time favorite song of the series. Likewise, I thought the characters were sympathetic (though sometimes melodramatic) - especially Pinkie Pie, since mostly she's there not only as the most fun and outgoing pony out of all of the main characters, but can also be seen as the comic reliever of the series.

What also impacted me on the show was the season finales; pretty twisted stuff! Overall, I would recommend this show to any-pony who's a fan or for those who want to pass the time.

Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony
(2012)

Better than A Brony Tale
Just when you thought that "A Brony Tale" didn't meet too many expectations, this documentary will go down a treat. It heavily relies on the bronies and the convention, rather than being slow- burned and relying on ONE person making part of this fandom possible: Ashleigh Ball. Would recommend for the whole family. In spite of some profanity - the movie would've been given a PG- rating either way.

Baby Driver
(2017)

Best two hours of my life!
Coming out of this movie I thought that those last two hours of my life were AWESOME! The action sequences and killing were fast paced and had happened right on time; especially for the opening and ending scenes as those moments were simultaneously insane and engaging. I also adored the cinematography and editing that went with this movie. And the best part: the whole movie is set to an awesome soundtrack! I would advocate this movie to anyone who's into this much fun as I was.

The Nice Guys
(2016)

Nice! Just nice.
One of my other favorite movies of 2016! The 1970s setting was fantastic - I'm always up for a movie set in those times, if they were to do it right - especially for the humor, action sequences, soundtrack and characters of Crowe and Gosling. The film's tag-line admits "The Nice Guys" are "far from nice", but this movie has a stand for nice. You know you only live once? So, why not see this twice like I did!

Paranormal Activity 3
(2011)

It'd be more interesting on an actual VHS or have it longer!
I can't believe I've seen this more than once, it's just too good just like all the other movies. It would have been so much better if the filmmakers had made this longer; incorporating some of the footage you only see in the trailers and make the movie two hours of fright! The house fire should've been in here as part of keeping in continuity with the original Paranormal Activity, and the movie would've made more sense and would've been more scarier! But for now, this is a go.

Straight Outta Compton
(2015)

Great old Compton fun!
Loved this movie from the start of it; by the fact, I listen to their music all the time. The time period that the film settles in works, the soundtrack is epic, the characters are great and the story was just top-notch and powering. Way better than "Notorious" and by far, the best movie I have ever seen in 2015!

A Brony Tale
(2014)

Quite good
Being as I'm a brony myself, I went ahead and had a look at this documentary. Managed to endorse the whole thing and best off, it was never boring. I even saw some familiar faces in there! Would be good for the whole family to watch; just has some thematic material so it would've most likely gotten a PG-rating by the MPAA (as the movie's not been given such a rating).

Like the one Ashleigh Ball said: "As long as My Little Pony exists, there will be Bronies."

Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension
(2015)

Tense, but could have been better
I remember seeing this in the theaters, especially in the 3D format, back in 2015 and just got the chills just watching it like any other PA film I've seen; in fact, my heart was pounding against my chest from start to finish! Even though, this wasn't the movie I had hoped to give a satisfactory ending to the series - it could've been better at the end.

Remember in the trailers with all those kids and the coven? I had high hopes for that. And that way, the movie would have been more interesting. But no, they left it out. Another feature I found decent was an alternate ending - only on home video - but it's nothing special. I'd like to see a sequel where someone finally kills off Toby, because at the end - all he needed was one drop of blood from one of the coven and he becomes human. Who knows if we'll get that for sure.

Tense just like the rest of the franchise, but it could've been better.

La La Land
(2016)

Best movie of 2016!
I did not except to fall in love with this movie, but I'm glad I have.

I thought that the musical scenes were great, especially the cinematography and score. Gosling and Stone are both top-notch in this and it quite relates to my love and passion of making movies. This movie deserves the Oscars it had won, but BEST PICTURE?! Boy, was I ticked off this didn't win Best Picture - it did at first, but it was a mistake.

In general, I consider this to be one of my favorite movies out of all of 2016: THE DEFINITION AND EMBODIMENT OF DISAPPOINTMENT AFTER DISAPPOINTMENT!

Mr. Bean's Holiday
(2007)

Adequate, but I hate the so-called "losing personal belongings" cliché
The movie was as much as necessary when I watched it back then on TV; the only fault I have for this movie? Losing personal belongings. To my way of thinking of this cliché, I don't like specific films on account of the protagonist losing his / her personal belongings, because you never know if he / she gets them back.

I would have loved to see an additional post-credits scene where Mr Bean inexplicably gets all of his personal belongings back and returns to civilization, but that never happened. I would have given the movie a plus, if that were to happen.

Overall, humdrum little movie.

Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones
(2014)

Never expected it, but kinda did.
I remember seeing this in the theaters years back and it scared the holy s**t out of me.

Several of those scary scenes had me either cowering in my seat with my ears and eyes covered or ones that virtually made me fall out of my seat. The advertising embodied "an ending you'll never see coming" and I never expected that ending!

I'm personally a die-hard fan of this franchise and I certainly think that this is the one that takes the cake. Watch these at your own risk!

Glitter
(2001)

Superb!
I never expected to watch the whole movie in its entirety. Carey isn't that bad in this movie as considered by many critics for her acting to be amateur; I think opposite of what critics say. The soundtrack is top-notch and I thought that the movie was powering. If you're a true fan of Carey, I truly would recommend this movie - even if it doesn't meet up all expectations.

The only problem with this movie and the reason as to why it failed was releasing it after the 9/11 attacks happened (the Twin Towers make an appearance in this movie); they should've stuck with the original release date and the movie could've been a hit.

All-in-all, not bad.

Lalaloopsy Ponies: The Big Show
(2014)

Garbage.
I thought this one would be better...

But just like all the other Lalaloopsy movies when compared with The Search for Pillow, this movie sucks harder and harder; but not to an undesirably great or intense degree as The Search for Pillow. While ponies please me (like My Little Pony), the execution was crummy, the characters were imbecile at times and the main song "A Carousel Life" is something that I couldn't-care-less - especially when it gets to the choir version over the end credits; it's sullen, dismal and disconsolate.

Kids and fans of the show would admire this, but I would not recommend these kind of movies over the age of 12.

Baby Einstein: Baby Van Gogh World of Colors
(2000)

Sentimental soundtrack
Baby Van Gogh encourages kids about the different variety of colors along with pieces of work by Vincent Van Gogh. The problem I have with the video itself is not by the fact that it is a bad product; it's the soundtrack. There's times with the soundtrack that it can sound both sentimental and gloomy, but other than that it still works with your younger ones. If you don't like the video either, just avoid it and stick to better BE videos.

Mil gritos tiene la noche
(1982)

Bad horror movie, but has some life in it.
Wow. This has to be one of the WORST (if not severely) horror movies I've probably ever seen; there's more crud aside from this. I know everyone likes this movie, but not for me. Terrible voice acting, cinematography, gaffes and the most godawful ending in horror history - that back then when I first came to this film and watched that horrific scene - it utterly scarred me for life. After all, it's been five years since that unexpected ending had scarred me; today it's futile and I'm used to it. Especially with this movie.

The only acclaims for this movie are the special effects and definitely the Spanish version of this movie - the dialogue is not as shoddy as the American one, seems to be darker in tone and the music is more upbeat. It took me this far and nearly the end of my high school career to come to this point and watch the whole film again in all it's glory. Watching it today doesn't have any effect on me like it used to - it's just downright fruitless.

The only tweak I'd like to see today is have this film re-cut - not for just some of the violence, but to cut down on the inconsistencies, dialogue and certain, grueling scenes - for an R-rating. Three to four minutes could be possible. Until then, to pieces - or hell - with this!

Adventures in Lalaloopsy Land: The Search for Pillow
(2012)

The worst movie I've ever seen in my life. Period.
This is, by far, the worst movie I've ever experienced in my whole life. This pile of scum called The Search for Pillow is the most godawful disgrace in human existence! Probably out of all the Lalaloopsy movies I've watched and find intolerable!

The characters lack chemistry, Pillow would be most better off in a deep sleep (rather than constantly waking up and then falling back to sleep as a foremost reminder that she's part of the movie), the soundtrack and sound mixing is dreadful at times and the whole movie feels sluggish.

Little kids would definitely adore this movie, but if you're older than them - avoid this at all costs. There's more horrid movies like this!
