Zack Snyder's Justice League
(2021)

ZSJL really does justice..
From a very dissappointed fan to an again proud one, ZS Justice League really does justice. This version gives you everything you ever asked for from a superhero movie, the action, power, supevillains, and even touching moments.. Zack Snyder can give each superheroes the respect they deserve, they have their room to tell their stories.

Venom
(2018)

Tom Hardy and Venom Are Great Together
It is handsdown one of the best superhero movie, the most unexpected thing is how the movie portrays the relationship between Eddie (Tom Hardy) and Venom, it plays as if it is his split personality but in a good way, I can see how deep Venom learns all about Eddie and make it personal, it emphatizes him, and he humanizes it, and that makes it relates with us, and we love them. It's a nice friendship.

Storywise, it has all the elements needed by today's movie lovers. It gives time to explain the villain and his motive, not just a megalomaniac who wants to destroy and rule the world (it has been obsoleted, remember Justice League :( ), a humanized hero, who is nobody, but willing to do the best to help people around him, a little ingredients of love life, sweet but not too much romantism, simply, it can relate easily to people, and oh.. Stan Lee appearance is perfect and entertaining. Miss you Stan...

A Wrinkle in Time
(2018)

Love..but no Feel
When the movie finished, I was stunned, by how plain the movie was. Knowing the resources behind the making, made it even more dissapointed. ... and at the end, love is the answer, not that I didn't agree with, but it was like a shortcut without good story plot, character development and emotional building. This movie wanted to centralize its main theme to love, but no feeling whatsoever, Major Dissapointment!

Ant-Man and the Wasp
(2018)

Good Superhero movie with a bit differentiation
I like the fact that this ant man movie takes a bit different path than any superhero movies nowadays. The focus is not just to find and beat the villain, moreover, it has three aims which I respected, rescue one of the main character, beat and "rescue" the victim who was gone from good to bad because of the circumstances, and the last, of course (it's not an action movie without it), beat the villain, although this time, it's an easy one and far below the par. And each has pretty much balance scenes.

But the fact of its differentiation really makes this movie interesting, different formula and change your expectation a little bit in the middle of the movie, although the end is still predictable :), but the effort is still worth the respects.

Another thing, The quantum realm will be something that differentiate ant man movies from another MCU movies and it will be interesting to see in the future, because it is still rare for a movie that opens this curtains. Pretty much a hypothetical, but that's what the movie is all about, isn't it? To raise the imagination and possibly a truth?

Character-wise, no one dissapoints, Paul Rudd is the rightest Scott Lang out there and the chemistry with Hope Van Dyke juat keeps growing. Douglas and Pfeiffer do good, and so Pena.

Overall, good movie and worth your time and money.

Justice League
(2017)

Definitely a Movie for Kiddos
I don't know how to express my dissapointment watching this movie. I grew up surrounded by these heroes who first mesmerized me with their power, character and integrity, with Superman as the leader of the pack, he is always my number one superhero of all time, no matter what :).

When i heard Justice League will be made a movie, I burst up with joy and anticipation of how excited it's gonna be, all I can think of the "real" scene of a fight, battle or drama from my childhood reappeared, I follow the instagram account, watch every trailers and somehow remember some of the dialogue.

But when I can finally watch this movie, I almost fell asleep after the first half of it!! The story does not worth the hype and anticipation, the solo movies are far better than the mash up. The story simply made for kids, simple storyline with no element of surprise, no thrill, average comedy, unnecessary scenes (plain Russian family), even the special effect is not special at all.

Good to see Superman is alive though, he can pull out the Superman we have and love from comics, but the others are plain, poor Wonder Woman, she has no enough stage for her, lousy Batman, he can have more limelight, boring Cyborg. Aquaman and Flash are OK anyway, they are like the ice cream in the dessert for this pack.

I sadly have to give 5/10 for this movie, hurts..... :(. And what a waste for a 300MM movies.

The Walk
(2015)

A Well Orchestrated Movie
From the background of the story, you may expect this will be another movie about a human fulfill his/ her dream. A dream boosted by passion that drive a will and fueled with persistance and strong outer bond to make it all happen.

But eventually this movie offers more than that. We are introduced to Philippe Petit with strong and hard headed character to do what he loves, and like typical "make your dream comes true" movie, the world conspires to help him achieve it, but before half of the movie ended, We have been brought to the attempt of his biggest achievement, the core of the story, efficient yet effective without losing the importances. The second half tells the details of the Twin Tower crossing, we can tell and feel the passion Philippe has, against all odds and doubts. The crossing becomes the peak of the whole orchestra, with audiences, music, view, and brilliant acting of JGL. We are not astonished only by the achievement itself, but by the fact that human can relate with nature, become his true self, utilize his full potential with heart, it is when the movie not just become an inspirational one, but also artistic and beautiful at the same time.

Robert Zemeckis simply gives soul to the movie, in a well orchestrated manner. Bravo!

Entourage
(2015)

Typical at the Beginning, Absurd at the End
Entourage is about nostalgia, people watch it just because they miss the pack, with its friendship, complicated girls relationship yet simply managed, parties, muscle cars, A- Listers celebrities, bikinis, boobs... Oh I must stop here :)

I think the problem with this movie is they simply treats the big screener with television plot, this is like merging 3 episodes into one movie, nothing special, a disappointment I may say. In the beginning of the movie, it shows the pack back in their old pattern of life and style (except Turtle! It's nice to see his role and character developed), with typical source of drama and conflict, Girl..!! For a movie (and was TV series) decorated with many girls since it is introduced in 2004, this is more more more than a cliché, I don't know a better word to describe it.

The last scene is even more absurd, with Drama wins Golden Globe, I think this can be a good closure for this character, but for the whole movie, this is a blunder because it made the movie just like a soap opera, Out of nowhere...However, IMO, If they can show the scene played by him in the movie directed by Vince, probably the viewers can see the red line and a bit intelligently satisfied :)

Jurassic World
(2015)

What can you expect from a typical sequel?
This movie opens with all its greatness, reminded us of the new world of Jurassic park, with its state of the art genetic engineering, except this is bigger, has better effect and much more spectacular dinosaurs show.

But that actually where the problem is, no wow factor in the story, same ingredients, nothing new...

The visual effect is amazing though, the battle between Indominus Rex and T-Rex is epic! The raptors help T-Rex is nice, and the mammosaur finishes it and eat its incredible meal is quite a treat from bigger disappointment. The four main characters, Chris, Bryce,Ty, and Nick play well and save the movie too, since the others are lame.

An OK movie, what can you expect from a typical sequel?

Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb
(2014)

Lollipop Movie
Watching Night at The Museum is like watching a Cinderella or Snow White, you know what to expect and you got it. The movie looks like it runs out of fuel and try to squeeze everything necessary to keep it alive and worth to watch, with the help of good special effect and cameo!

The storyline is waayyy too simple, for a franchise which made a big bucks with its first installment, it feels that they have lack of ideas, no surprise, no twists, just plain. They only try to bring life to more and more statues, as a sweetener, with no clear ideas of the story value. This is like eating lots of candies, sweet but not healthy. t

The roles of Owen Wilson (Jedediah) and Steve Coogan (Octavius) are just contrived, if they are not exist in this movie, it wouldn't hurt at all, and the scene seems to be forced, a Pompeii volcano erupted in a micro scale under the museum? Can you believe it? Dude, it's entertaining but come on, this is too much, don't make it a stupid movie and ruin the whole franchise.

Rebel Wilson plays it quite well here, but is this just my feeling or what? I think she's mimicking Melissa McCarthy, interesting but not original.

Overall, this movie is wayy below the first and second, not really worth to watch, and the last part of the movie is like saying "I have no more idea, good bye". But if you only want to eat candies, you may watch this movie.

Kingsman: The Secret Service
(2014)

Entertaining!
This movie is not very promising in the beginning, as it feels like a stupid movie with too many coincidences. A kid with family problem, arrested by cop, have a direct access to contact a very secret service and contact them after years ( what happen with the time when he dealt with drugs, kicked out of the marines, etc??), and the secret service suddenly come in person to bail him out (a secret service is supposed to be busy isn't he? :) ), but OK, so I keep following the movie with lower expectation, but still hope it won't be another Austin Power.

Then the Secret Service (name Kingsman) started to recruit a new guy to replace one agent who died in a mission, apart from the questionable way to find a candidate for the very sophisticated organization, the movie began to be interesting, with new ways of training methods. It shows off the technology, Bond's type of weapon, state of the art facility (underground!), ... and high fashion :). Not to mention peer pressure and friendship to give more dynamics of a military camp and some gentleman values.

It gets more interesting since the villain is portrayed well by Samuel L. Jackson, a genius lunatic who wants to "save" the world from "viruses" but still save some along with him, with the reference of Noah and his ark. Clearly he is very genius and a strong and balance rival for the Kingsman that it makes the movie interesting, with lots of twists and surprises which will make us like to sit and watch more and more. The last fight between Eggsy (the main character beside Colin Firth) and Gazelle (the main villain beside Jackson) is also interesting and quite classy, not a prolong fight but it shows skill and versatility of both. At the end... Of course the world is saved :)

Thus, this can be categorized as a complete movie, with action, blood, mutilation, comedy, friendship, gentleman, fashion, technology, etc. The story is not really perfect, but it can be forgiven with the aboves, along with the twist.

A good movie to spend a weekend :)

Mad Max: Fury Road
(2015)

Mad.. From The Beginning To The End
It's about adrenaline rush from the beginning until the end, however, George Miller can very well maintain the plot and simple storyline so that although he has brought the rush from minute zero, the movie could still execute and present the climax in a very good way to the audience.

The moviegoers who haven't seen the original movie should be able to learn and gather the puzzle of the story, not to clear everything up (yet!), but the way it tells the story and "explain" it is so classy for a 'mad action brutal full of truck race and debris' movie. We won't feel confuse when we leave the theater, in fact, asking for more :). Sure there are some details that questionable, but hopefully those can be answered in the sequel.

The actors performance are quiet balance anyway, Charlize Theron appears to be too plain for that strong character of Furiosa, I was thinking that someone as strong as Sigourney Weaver could fill that shoes. Tom Hardy simply nails it, this classy actor can transform from the unknown to resentful to lovable and reliable Max. Hugh Keays-Byrne plays brilliantly as Immortan Joe, very full of testosterone and adrenaline, his total madness and love for the wife and baby in the other side can represent what the movie is all about.

Absolutely Look forward for the next one!

Tomorrowland
(2015)

Easily Forgettable
This is a typical Disney movie, in a positive sense, that show and teach kids (and also adults) about imagination, courageous, persistence, the power of dream, family value, etc. Same ingredients, different scripts.

Tomorrowland will bring you to the future world with all the perfection and state of the art technology, anything that kids could've thought of, with nice animation and portrayal of future city, transportation, people, with also the touch of fun inside. The era where human can time travel, master the quantum mechanic and use it to ease the life.

All is great, all is beautiful, all is encouraging... But the story is just so typical and predictable, i kind of regret to see the movie just before the first half ended, and hope it will end soon, I think I'm not the only once since I watch few people left the theater before the movie ended :(. This movie is like The Matrix meets Back To The Future, so last year and easily forgettable. Not a really pleasant way to spend my two hours..

Avengers: Age of Ultron
(2015)

A Disappointment...Like Watching TheExpendables
Come to the theatre with a huge expectation, since the first one really blew my mind away. I can still maintain it the first quarter of the movie, seeing the heroes dying in the mind of Tony Stark, muscle vs mind, OK. But then the expectation diminished, it becomes The Expendables, only with more power human and god, and better weapon of course. The plot is predictable with plain story, almost fell asleep in the middle! The Ultron idea is brilliant, but then it is a repetition of the first movie, exactly the same way. I was hoping they can dig down this artificial intelligent character, once again, the hope was raised in the beginning when Ultron found his consciousness and question himself, but after that...it's just another comic story, if he got the mind from Stark, why he's really against him, with his complication and intelligence, why choose the way and recreate the world, does it have to be like that all the time? I'm fine with whatever the end result is, just need more reasoning. However, this movie adds some human touches, and I kinda love it, the"normal" family of Hawkeye, romance between Hulk and Black Widow, the testosterone fight between Thor and Tony comparing their partners, funny yet resemble to us, the not so strong nor intelligent human being :))

Cake
(2014)

Nice Performance from Aniston
I honestly feel curious to see this movie because of Jennifer Aniston, knowing that it would be a totally different role for her, ....and it pays off. Supported by a strong story, her acting is just natural and sufficient, very Aniston, never exaggerate anything, thumbs up for her. There are some moments when you feel a little bit bored, but at the end, it is crystal clear and make us rethink of the movie and some interesting scenes from the beginning. The supporting performance are also good, especially Barazza, she delivers the message with her natural ability to convince and perceive people, a bit funny but lovable as well. However, to be an Oscar worthy, I feel that this is missing something, I don't know what is it, this is just an OK I personally touched by this movie, with some funny scenes in, this is recommended to watch.
