Entertaining! This movie is not very promising in the beginning, as it feels like a stupid movie with too many coincidences. A kid with family problem, arrested by cop, have a direct access to contact a very secret service and contact them after years ( what happen with the time when he dealt with drugs, kicked out of the marines, etc??), and the secret service suddenly come in person to bail him out (a secret service is supposed to be busy isn't he? :) ), but OK, so I keep following the movie with lower expectation, but still hope it won't be another Austin Power.
Then the Secret Service (name Kingsman) started to recruit a new guy to replace one agent who died in a mission, apart from the questionable way to find a candidate for the very sophisticated organization, the movie began to be interesting, with new ways of training methods. It shows off the technology, Bond's type of weapon, state of the art facility (underground!), ... and high fashion :). Not to mention peer pressure and friendship to give more dynamics of a military camp and some gentleman values.
It gets more interesting since the villain is portrayed well by Samuel L. Jackson, a genius lunatic who wants to "save" the world from "viruses" but still save some along with him, with the reference of Noah and his ark. Clearly he is very genius and a strong and balance rival for the Kingsman that it makes the movie interesting, with lots of twists and surprises which will make us like to sit and watch more and more. The last fight between Eggsy (the main character beside Colin Firth) and Gazelle (the main villain beside Jackson) is also interesting and quite classy, not a prolong fight but it shows skill and versatility of both. At the end... Of course the world is saved :)
Thus, this can be categorized as a complete movie, with action, blood, mutilation, comedy, friendship, gentleman, fashion, technology, etc. The story is not really perfect, but it can be forgiven with the aboves, along with the twist.
A good movie to spend a weekend :)
