Slam (2008)
Good and relaxing movie
A nice Asian movie that is a great piece of work done by Mr. Jonathan Lim, who is known to me by his movie Pali Road, which I also loved. In some segments it resembles to Holywood kind of movies, but in a GOOD way! The story is easy to understand, most of the characters are likeable and the story develops nicely. The young actors did an outstanding job in portraying their roles and I would definitely recommend Slam to anyone wanting to watch a quality sport-family movie.
Ryde (2017)
A good one!
As a huge horror genre fan, I have really enjoyed watching this little movie. It is not yet another predictable horror with lots of clichés, but an original flick that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the beginning to the end. The story of the movie is authentic, with very effective sound effects and music. I liked its main characters which were portrayed really good from the relatively unknown actors. The direction is spot on and I can't wait to see some more work from the same director.
Traded (2016)
Great western movie!
As a kid I loved watching western movies, and that didn't change much so far. The only problem, it is hard to find a good western these days. Luckily "Traded" is one of them. First, to all the people that didn't watch the movie, don't listen to the critics... if you are a true western fan you will like the movie. It has a little bit of everything, Kris Kristofferson!!! as a retired gunslinger, revenge, nice western ambiance, suspense and awesome actions scenes. Even Trace Adkins (famous American country music singer) acts in the movie making him more authentic. Overall I have highly enjoyed watching this decent western movie and I give it a 9 star rating!!!
Olympus: Daedalus (2015)
Cinematics of Daedalus
My particular cinematic experience was good when I was watching the film I have to say there is one thing about it that didn't quite settle with me. It's the whole concept of immortality that seems to be a recurring theme in all of the Olympus episodes to date. Immortality is such an old theme in movies and screenplays. It repeats too often to the point that we get bored with it. For example Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone used the same idea except it was a stone whereas here it's the Lexicon. However I give the filmmakers respect for the lighting used to create this episode in particular. The lighting was all done in the right angles, and the big rocks used in the episode was very real-looking. The visual traits really appealed to me and I got a sense of what this ancient world was all about. I will say to everyone reading this review don't judge the film by the title and go see it for yourself. By the way this episode was worth watching and Daedalus the nerdy inventor certainly made it interesting.
