Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny
(2023)

Judge for yourself
I too was expecting garbage because of the terrible reviews from critics and all the set leaks but I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is coming from someone who thought the Disney Star Wars were awful and hasn't been happy with Lucasfilms output since being owned by Disney.

Harrison Ford will always be my favorite actor. He never ceases to make me smile and his final turn as Indy was no exception. Phoebe Waller-Bridge wasn't nearly as terrible as the leaks made her out to be and frankly her character is supposed to be unlikeable a good part of the movie. I loved the opening scene that takes place in the 40s as well. Definitely better than Crystal Skull but if you expected it to be as good as the original 3 you're a putz. Enjoy it for what it is. Harrison Ford won't be around much longer and we likely won't ever get to see him in another action role.

Chuck Berry
(2018)

Good footage but factually inaccurate.
This is cool for the old footage and interviews but it glosses things over. Cannot stand the musical reenactments. For example it explains Chuck got arrested in his late teens because a guy pulled over to help him with a broken down car but when Chuck approached him it says the guy ran off because he got scared when in actuality he robbed the guy at gunpoint with a broken gun. His son actually mentions this in passing later on. Hail Hail Rock N Roll is a much better film.

America: The Motion Picture
(2021)

Pretty funny
This movie is so beyond ridiculous and homogenizes all our history together that it just works, for me anyway. The kind of beyond stupid movie you don't need to think when you watch and I mean that as a compliment. Good stuff.

The Mandalorian: Chapter 16: The Rescue
(2020)
Episode 8, Season 2

Redemption
Thank you Jon Favreu and Dave Filoni for redeaming our hero and making Star Wars fun again. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you so much...tears of joy.....

The Grinch
(2018)

Typical Regurgitated hollywood of today.
The positive is it's well animated and it keeps my 5 yr old daughter entertained. The negative is everything else. I'll stick with the 60s tv special that's narrated by the inimitable Boris Karloff

Wonder Woman
(2017)

Entertaining but a ripoff.
This was the first DCEU movie I enjoyed however it was not without its faults and It was a total ripoff of Captain America: The First Avenger which I will get to momentarily. Firstly it lost a couple points because of the climactic fight scene. It was exactly the same as the other DCEU movies in that the fight was in a blurry sea of bad CGI fire against a bad CGI villain. Now here are the similarities to Captain America that make it a ripoff and not just a couple coincidences. -Superpowered main hero was created to fight -Main hero fights with a shield -movie starts in present time and then flashes back then ends back in present time -Hunky blonde guy with a heart of gold -Chemically enhanced German general bent on world domination and continuing war who kills his fellow german officers -Mad scientist developing unseen weapons in employ of super german -Hunky blonde guy flies futuristic bomber they cant stop from going off away from civilians and sacrifices himself -Oddly ethnically diverse bunch of commando buddies helping on missions behind enemy lines -takes place in europe during a world war in which the germans were the antagonists -features a love that was lost tragically

The Mandalorian
(2019)

Kathleen Kennedy,JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson take notice. This is how you do Star Wars
This is Star Wars. It feels like Star Wars. It Looks Like Star Wars. Why is this such a tough concept for the geniuses associated with the films to get? No subversion's needed, no forced 8 yr old humor, no political agenda. Just make it look and feel like the original Star Wars trilogy and fans will be happy, its literally that simple.
