I do appreciate this show bringing awareness and representation of the poly/ethical non monogamy community however, this show sensationalizes more than educates on polyamory. There is a lot of unhealthy relationship dynamics, from controlling partners to judgment on how 'poly' others are. Of course the constant soft core scenes present polyamory as being all about sex instead of a healthy alternative to monogamy. Lastly, though many of the people featured in this show are bisexual, the show still has a heteronormative frame, giving more weight to their opposite sex partners and contributing to bi-erasure.
Just a typical action comedy movie made to please the masses. This entire film was very predictable, the girl falls for the nerdy guy, the hardened badass has a soft side, etc. And, the motivations of this film were not consistent, these characters presented as clever would then go on to do illogical things, conveniently moving the plot along. If you want to watch a film with mediocre comedy and a cast of celebrities that plays it safe, go ahead but don't expect anything more.
I had such high hopes for this movie and yet it crashed and burned. It promised a mix of elements that I love, a campy, cult, horror musical in the likes of Rocky Horror or Little Shop yet it just turned out so wrong. The one thing I did appreciate was the production design, with the detailed sets and the elaborate and spooky costumes, however, it was all lost to the catastrophe of the film. The acting was one dimensional and cringy, the editing was atrocious and repetitively pulled me out of the film, there were many useless scenes and introductions and each song sounded like it took a minute to write. Again, I really liked the concept and wish it could have worked out better.
