Alleluia! The Devil's Carnival
(2016)

Not that interesting
I found the movie to not be that great. Would it come close to winning an Oscar or even have a trailer on TV? Most likely not. It's really one of those movies where either you like the culture or you don't. I also am not a very big fan of Bousman. I've tried to be but I found the SAW movies that he did directed were the weaker movies of the series. Also his type of movies are not for those who are believers in God. Specifically in this movie he at times mocks God and religion in general.

I also personally found it to really be a mess of a movie. The plot was hard to understand and I was left thinking if there even was a plot to it all. In fact the movie reminded me of the book series "Cirque du Freak" which was pathetically made into a movie called "The Vampire's Assistant." That's the culture this movie is for, those who like reading the Cirque du Freak series.

Maybe this movie would be better as a live show?

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief
(2010)

WRONG cast!
Lets just put it this way. Percy & Annabeth are suppose to be very young in the books. Like 13-14 years old! All of the cast members in the movie are already 18+ years old! While I thought Alexandra was a good Annabeth, Logan was TERRIBLE! Now granted the Harry Potter trio weren't that great at the beginning but they were young also. When you change too much of the movie it defeats the purpose of watching the movie when you can just read the book. Not to mention what is with allowing Annabeth to be a brunette and not a blonde like she was in the book!? Did the actress not want to? Have the writers and director even READ the books? Seriously it felt like some angst sexual charged teen movie! Look at how Annabeth and Percy first look at each other, its like "love at first sight." I understand they were trying to get the preteen/teen viewership but they missed the mark on this. The books could actually be enjoyed by anyone of any age but again, that's not what they were going after. Even after watching the second movie (Sea of Monsters) they should completely restart the series with different actors and stick closer to the books.

Annie
(1982)

One of my favorite movies
Whenever I watch this I always smile. Both the adult and child cast really make this movie shine and its amazing how all of the cast can sing! Even little Molly who is only about 6 years old hits her notes. Sure it gets scary at the end but that's how the comics were always written. For Annie to always get into some serious trouble and gets rescued by Daddy Warbucks or one of his bodyguards. The songs were always delightful to listen to and even now I know the songs by heart and can follow along while the movie is playing. Is it as good as the Broadway production? That all depends on who is playing Annie that tour.

Out of all of the Annie movies and musicals, this is the one to go see!!

Annie
(2014)

!982 version is much better
I enjoyed the songs from the 1982 version much better than this one. This version seemed to of been made because there isn't enough "black" movies out there. I also found that all of the singers in the 82 version could actually sing! In fact Aileen Quinn who played Annie has had a very successful career singing after the musical. The adult cast for this version also can not compete at all with the 82 version! You had Tim Curry, Carol Burnett, Albert Finney, heck you even had Geoffrey Holder who was the 7-Up guy who always laughed "Ha Ha Ha Ha" in the commercials! Speaking of the orphans in the 82, ALL of them could sing! This version, it sounds all dubbed in! In fact the girl who played Annie in this version CAN'T sing at all!

You can believe the Oscar hype all you want but the 1982 version had better songs, better cast, and was actually script-written for the time period of the comic. This is just a sad attempt to make blacks be noticed in Hollywood.
