Lo imposible
(2012)

Moving, brutal but made for an american audience
I keep it short and say: The movie is touching and even brutal at times. It's definitely worth to watch. I gotta say though that I found it odd that it resolves so much around a white tourist family. I'd like to see more locals and their fate portrayed in the movie because in reality for this family it would come down to this: They survived but ultimately they fly home to their perfectly fine house and live on while the local people lost everything. On the other hand they are not the target audience of the movie so I get it.

James Cameron said about Titanic that one of them had to die and it was Jack who died. He justified this with the fact that it would not do justice to the fate of the other passengers if there was a happy end. I would have liked a similar ending for "The Impossible".

Emil und die Detektive
(2001)

A classic!
While this movie certainly has it's flaws when watching it as a grown up, I still remember it watching it as a child. I completely remember how satisfying to watch this movie was back when I was a child myself. It was everything I could have asked for: Funny, adventurous, exciting and packed with a lot of action. This movie is easily my favorite child movie.

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie
(2004)

Everything I could've asked for as a fan
As a fan of the tv show, as someone who grow up watching SpongeBob, as someone who enjoys the adult jokes now that I didn't get as a child, this movie is absolutely everything that I could have asked for.

The only downside is the "real" party. It did work but I found David Hasselhoff to be a cheap addition to the movie.

Der geilste Tag
(2016)

Disappointed but not surprised
Whenever a new Schweighöfer or Schwieger movie comes out I'm expecting the ever same roles, tones, acting, actors, storyline. This time though the story resolved around two very sick man who happened to share a room in the hospital. They get bored and decide to make the most out of the rest of their lives.

While this is clearly a feel good movie for in between it is still a Schweighöfer movie at the core. I watched the movie two times but it was very hard to make it through both times.

I was hoping to get some fresh ideas but instead got the ever same jokes. If you like other Schweighöfer movies you will like this one two but for me personally: Disappointed but not surprised.

Verónica
(2017)

Good cast but just as good or bad as any other ouija movie.
Because of the hype in social media over the last days I decided to give this movie a shot. I wouldn't say that it was a waste of time, I did enjoy the movie in general but there was nothing new or revolutionary about this movie and it is certainly NOT the "scariest movie of all time" - there probably were a lot of marketing geniuses at Netflix involved to create the hype.

A lot of the elements reminded me of the numerous Ouija movies that already exist while other elements were "inspired" by other horror movies like The Conjuring.

Conclusion: The real story behind the movie is certainly more interesting then the movie itself but if you are bored and are a Netflix subscriber give the movie a shot, but don't expect to get scared much if you're watching a lot of horror movies.

Hurricane Bianca
(2016)

A fun movie with a good message
I think every drag fan will love "Hurricane Bianca", but also people who don't have that much to do with drag might like the movie. The first 20 minutes are a bit tough compared to the rest of the movie, but after that a firework of drag starts. Bianca is incredibly funny and evil. The film progresses quickly and the message of acceptance, friendship and solidarity should reach ever viewer. I found the ending to be a bit cheesy, but it does not detract from the whole work. Conclusion: The film is a good pastime for in between.
