Keep Breathing
(2022)

Do NOT bother
I thought it were an intriguing survival-series, instead it turns out to be absurd, mentally disturbed, boring and surreal bu......! I fast forwarded most of it. Really, don't bother.

Twee zomers
(2022)

Binge worthy
If it were a book, it would be a page turner. The series has fine actors, good plot, nice location. But there are some sloppyness.

I had to watch quite a few episodes to figure out who is who. When there are so many actors involved, the director should see to that we know who is who.

The woman around whome the series revolve is long, tall, darkhaired, eerie white and has brown eyes. Her 30 year older self is blond, blueeyed, small, freckled and has a broader face. That is a major faux pas.

So too is the pilot character. He is much older than the others.

The island??? There are no such island near the French Riviera. But ok, fiction is allowed.

Aquarius
(2015)

Just watch it
One of the best series I have ever seen. Right up there with Homeland, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, House of Cards.

Duchovny is eminent. A cool cat, a foxy man and a very pleasant actor to watch. His interaction with his sidekick, the young undercover 'narc', Grey Damon, is graceful, and he moves around in the precinct as a master of the universe. The storyline takes us right to the hotspot of the decade which changed the world. Deeply fascinating it is, and with a completely true ring to it.

Gethin Anthony, who plays Manson, should have an Oscar. It is amazing how facetted he can portray madness and evil. When the camera zooms in he mastesr the shifts from being calm an vulnerable, to alert, suspicious, menacing, mad and pure evil. It passes over his face like shadows from a dark cloud.

There is no way I can understand why a third season was not made. It is idiotic.

Dragoste 1: Câine
(2018)

Strangely intense
Very little happens and yet you have this intense feeling watching. It is pleasant to see something out of the ordinary, the quiet life in the woods, the beauty of the Transsylvanian landscape. The campfire outside, cooking with a wooden stick for a spoon, wolves howling ... suggesting werewolves. I like the timelessness. The setting could be 1920'es or 1930'es, but also later. We see a way of living that a lot of people is longing for today based on all the reality series about city people being dumped in the wild. I wasn't bored for one second. It has this right feeling of 'movie'. Of wonder.

Ma Rainey's Black Bottom
(2020)

Very, very boring except for 'Ma'
Some guys arguing in a basement. And it goes on and on and on till you hit the forward button. It is more like a really boring 'educational' theaterplay aimed at 'white people'. Why not just make a movie? The scenes wirh Ma Rainey are quite wonderful, filled with tension and power. But those scenes are also too occupied with being a lament of afroamerican experience in the past. Actually the first scene of the movie made me look forward to seeing it. Ma Rainey in a steaming hot rural party tent. People waiting in long lines in the dark southern night to get in. That is 'movie'! Not the forlorn and uninteresting bickering between the band members. Don't tell it. Show it!

Forældre
(2016)

Exceptionally boring
I am amazed that two brilliant actors would be in such a boring movie. It seems like a student project. Or something from the sixties. Dad - Soren Malling - is endlessly staring gloomily at old photos og bearing relics home in boxes. It totally lacks oxygene and vibration. It is just dead.

Zbrodnia
(2014)

Only good thing is the landscape
Amateurish. The detective falls in love with a woman, who is suddenly involved in all the crimes and in constant danger, so he can save her. He acts so poorly that he seems catatonic. I suddenly realized it is a spin off of 'The Sandhamn Murders'. The most annoying Sweedish series ever, with a woman, supposedly the heroine, stalking the policeman. It is a mystery to me, why Sweedish people like this. I detest it.

The Innocents
(2018)

Seems to be mainly a music programme
Plot is fine, and it could be a very good series were it not for the endless music scenes. It seems the director is mainly interested in promoting some female singer so viewers have to just wait and wait - minute after minute after minute for some action, while youngsters dreamingly walks around as were it some pathetic musicvideo. Also the need to make everything about adolescents. It cannot be both a series for adults and a series for teens.

Away
(2020)

Drama in space
I binged it, because it managed to keep up the suspense, and the actors are really great. Swank of course is the star, but I actually think the other lesser known actors are better. What I do NOT like, is all the sobbing and 'feeling' and the world record in pathetic I-love-you statements. Why oh why must American dramas - especially on Netflix - contain all that phony family (censored). Especially in scifi it is not wanted for. Scifi-lovers want action in space and to see foreign worlds, not family melodrama. Whenever that comes uo I use the forward button.

Dag
(2010)

Absolutely hilarious ... just until ...
I was very surprised and happy to see such a genius and funny Norwegian series. I laughed and laughed until the end of second episode. Here the protagonist throws a little dog with full force out of a closed window high up. I immediately deleted it from my list. It is psychopatic. You don't use animal abuse as something funny, something to laugh at.

Morden i Sandhamn
(2010)

Nora the stalker is awful
How come director and producers cannot see how awful and annoying this stalking neighbour Nora is. She is married and yet she pursues the policeman shamelessly. I hate the sight of her.

The Danish Girl
(2015)

Beautiful painted
A fine movie, but I had my suspicions, when I saw my country depicted with mountains! Denmark is flat as a pancake with the occasional hill. Therefore I looked up the real persons. Well, Lili was quite heavy set, it turns out. So why portray her as a fragile and glamourous icon? It seems to me the aesthetics took over. But I enjoyed the scenes from Nyhavn, where the couple stayed. Those images were quite true.

A Bigger Splash
(2015)

Why two snakes
This movie is one of the best I ever saw. Only thing spoiling it a bit for me is the girl. I don't see why she is in the movie. Obviously it is an Adam and Eve theme and of course they are visited by a snake, the rock stars former lover. The teenage girl is apparently a second snake, or maybe Antichrist, since she is the daughter of the snake. She oozes jealousy and hatred, but still it is unclear to me, why she is in the plot. She doesn't add anything apart from literally writhing with evil, quite contrary to the real snakes coming visiting every day on the terrazzo. They are just writhing and completely harmless. Swinton makes an unforgettable impression even without talking. So does Fiennes as the manic producer and ex-lover. He is so annoying that you almost feel sorry for him. What a brilliant actor he is. I wonder a bit about time references. If he were 17 in the late seventies, he must be in his mid-fifties, which he is not.
