I got this game for Christmas back in 2011, & I have to admit that it's 1 of the best PSP games I have ever played in my entire life. It even runs well every time I play the game on PPSSPP (PSP Emulator) with no issues whatsoever.
When I 1st started playing the game, I named my pirate character "Teenager John", because he looked so young. But eventually, I stopped playing the character under that name, & started overwriting my save files for new adventures, & stuff.
You can BASICALLY do anything you want to do in the game. You can capture, & sink ships, defeat notorious pirates, find lost cities, & more. You can choose to only rescue your family, & get married, which you could basically become a family man at the end, wipe out the entire Spanish Main, be a reckless pirate which you can attack everyone, & so much on how you want to play the game.
You can only choose from 5 starting eras which are...
1. 1600: Merchants & Smugglers
2. 1620: The New Colonists
3. 1640: War For Profit
4. 1660: The Buccaneer Heroes
5. 1680: Pirates' Sunset
Even though it's 1 of those PSP games that a lot of people never played, I would recommend it to anyone. It's basically a Pirate Simulation game mixed with open-world, high-seas adventure, action, & some tactical strategies.
OVERALL: 10/10.
