What's Love Got to Do with It
(1993)

Child Abuse?
I have watched this movie many times since it was released and I love it in so many ways, but every time I watch it, i'm really concerned about the emotional toll on the little toddlers that appear in several scenes. I have a hard time imagining that they were somehow unscathed.

I May Destroy You
(2020)

I love it....now
When I watched the first episode, I thought it wasnt for me; it felt like a generational mismatch, but I came back to the series and I'm so glad that I did!

Michaela Coel is a beautiful and captivating performer; the music is great throughout; the sets are awesome, but the real star of the show is Coel's narrative.

Unflinching and unapologetic, this look at an important and undeniable aspect of what it is to be a woman in the world--any woman, anywhere and at anytime--spoke to me and resonated on the deepest level.

I hope Michaela Coel knows how singular and powerful her writing is and how much her work means to people.

The Crossing Guard
(1995)

Perfect Movie
Script. Direction. Casting. Perfect............................. .........

The Outsider
(2020)

Great Performances Meh Series
With the exceptions of 'The Shining' and 'It', I think Stephen King readers have become accustomed to disappointing film renditions of his novels. I never read this book and was still disappointed with the screen adaptation. The cast is stellar and the performances are great to a person. Love the score; love the direction; love the cinematography; everything. I think it's just a flat and boring script that fails to build suspense or character arcs that would make it an enjoyable viewing experience. Again...great acting.

The Words
(2012)

Absolute Drivel
It's difficult to believe that somebody somewhere at some point didn't pull the plug on this movie before it got made. How did it get produced? Did anyone read the script? And how, for the love of god, did Jeremy Irons get roped into this moronic melodrama?
