Elektra
(2005)

Not sure why the rating is so low
It's an excellent action movie and really not sure why the rating is so slow. I understand that sadly women action movies are always under rated but 4.7??????? Come on. Jennifer garner acted well and so did other cast members. The stunts are great and the script is also good. I have highlighted this review as no spoilers but keep in mind, the synopsis gives just an insight on Elektras past.

"Elektra" is a thrilling action-packed film that follows the journey of Elektra Natchios, a highly skilled assassin with a troubled past. After being resurrected by the enigmatic organization known as the Hand, Elektra finds herself caught in a web of intrigue and danger as she navigates a world filled with deadly adversaries and personal demons. As she grapples with her own inner turmoil, Elektra must confront her past and embrace her destiny as a fierce warrior.

"Elektra" delivers an electrifying cinematic experience filled with intense action sequences, stunning visuals, and a captivating storyline. Jennifer Garner shines in the titular role, portraying Elektra with a perfect blend of strength, vulnerability, and determination. Her portrayal brings depth and complexity to the character, making her journey relatable and compelling. The film's action sequences are nothing short of spectacular, featuring intricately choreographed fight scenes that showcase Elektra's martial arts prowess. From exhilarating hand-to-hand combat to breathtaking swordplay, each action set piece is executed with precision and flair, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats throughout. In addition to its adrenaline-pumping action, "Elektra" also delves into themes of redemption, identity, and the struggle between light and darkness. As Elektra confronts her past and battles against formidable foes, she undergoes a transformative journey that ultimately leads her to discover her true purpose and embrace her inner strength. The supporting cast also delivers standout performances, with notable contributions from Goran Visnjic as Elektra's conflicted love interest, Mark Miller as the enigmatic Stick, and Kirsten Prout as the troubled young girl, Abby. Their interactions with Elektra add depth and emotional resonance to the story, elevating it beyond a mere action flick. Visually stunning and emotionally engaging, "Elektra" is a must-watch for fans of superhero cinema and action enthusiasts alike. With its compelling narrative, dynamic performances, and adrenaline-fueled thrills, it stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of one of Marvel's most enigmatic characters.

Overall, "Elektra" is a riveting cinematic experience that delivers on all fronts. With its captivating storyline, exhilarating action sequences, and strong performances, it solidifies its place as a standout entry in the superhero genre. Whether you're a fan of the comics or simply enjoy a good action flick, "Elektra" is sure to leave you electrified. Don't forget to give it a good rating here if you like it. 4.7 is gross injustice.

Secret City
(2016)

Excellent series after a long time
I remember skipping this series 5 years back when in the trailer I saw a right hand drive car and assumed this was a British tv series (which are unwatchable). However, as there was nothing to watch, I started the first episode because it has a good cast and realized it was an Australian series. Right from the very first ten minutes, the suspense never goes down. The first season ending, was a bit weird but frankly quite realistic. The second season did not have one of the main characters as well which was again , not a good beginning but it picked up again very well. The plot is very realistic and a replica of the real world situation particularly how the deep state is running each country.

I am sorry to be a little vague on the above as I don't want to have any spoilers in my review cos I think a lot of people haven't seen this series, which in my view is a must see.

Gone Girl
(2014)

End could have been better
Everything went smoothly till the first 3 quarters of the movie. Last last 40 minutes were from where things started to make less sense. Amy is shown as super intelligent in planning out everything so carefully suddenly starts to make mistakes repeatedly. Then she also roams around in public places. The police detective who was initially shown as highly responsible and passionate also gives up on everything so easily. There could have been a zillion thing police woman could have done to catch her. Had she been caught at the end, it would have made a lot of sense. Otherwise they should have worked hard to make the end more credible.

Avatar: The Last Airbender
(2024)

Apparently for kids but it's good
So I played the first episode and it was like for school kids show. But then it said PG so I continued watching. The show continued in the same way with no changes but by episode 3 I started enjoying it. Apart from the fact that it's for teenaged kids at most , it's a very well directed show with all actors acting extremely well. The script is also well written and at least in season 1, the writers have worked hard on building consistent characters. This though makes the show more predictable and that's the only downside; if it's a war then avatar should also be killing but doesn't so let's see how it turns. Shall be waiting for season 2.

The Little Things
(2021)

This one has a spoiler but I suggest to read it. I will warn before jumping on to the spoiler
I normally avoid writing a review with a spoiler but this one is a long movie and I I would rather save your time from being wasted. I am not sure how this has received a 6 rating , possibly because of Denzel Washington. The movie is not worth to be even checked but if you still want to try and watch the movie, you can stop reading here please because I will now jump on to the spoiler.

The plot is about a serial killer who is killing women. All women who are killed are prostitutes. Denzel Washington is sent to LA from another jurisdiction and gets to know about this serial killer as he companies the local detective (Baxter) to the crime scene. We come to know that he was previously in LA and was also a detective good at closing cases but his last case was not resolved, which was very similar to this serial killer's MO. From that point onwards, the movie seems like a British movie, too slow hardly anything happening and finally the suspect identified by Denzel who doesn't confess nor there is any confirm evidence shown during the movie, is killed by Baxter as he lost his temperament. There we come to know that Denzel also by mistake shot the last victim of the the serial killer 5 years ago by mistake and that was covered up by his colleagues in the forensic. So Denzel helps Baxter in covering up this incident.

Now here the writer was thinking that he was too smart and has created a movie which would leave the audience all excited and confused because the real killer was it suspect (who was killed) or not.

In my view, an end like this can never be good at all. You are playing with the mind of the audience that instead they think that what a stupid movie it was, they start arguing who was the real killer. It's very obvious that the first scene (which again is an unnecessary suspense) guy had nothing to do with these killings as the serial killers MO was different.

Wolf Pack
(2023)

Rated it 9 but not sad that it got cancelled
The series has been cancelled so there can't be any spoilers now. I frankly liked the series as they did a good job not only on the story but on characters as well. However I would. It have watched it because there weren't any triggers available for the lgbt stuff. After years, finally got hold of websites that have details of any violent trigger in shows but I haven't found any yet for lgbt related trigger and this show really have many unnecessary scenes. Where we respect their rights, it would be fair to respect the rights of people who don't like to watch such stuff so would be better that producers who are so keen to push this in movies should also give warnings respecting our rights. I think the show could have been more successful as half of my office colleagues stopped watching it because of too much of overdose.

The Killer
(2023)

It's only a 18 minutes movie
Have never seen such a crap waste of time movie. Literally, it's just 18 minutes in total and I clocked that. 60 percent of the movie is dialogues of what he is thinking while sitting idle. I really don't know know how I watched the first 15-20 minutes in which nothing happened at all. And then after an action (not spoiling the suspense, though there ain't any suspense whatsoever) I started to clock the time and fast forwarded the movie. Apart from the fact that it is a time waste, there are so many loop holes that you loose track of. My only advice is, use the forward button on the remote liberally.

Who Is Erin Carter?
(2023)

Britishly Boring
Could not even finish the first episode. Too slow and boring like all typical British movies and programs. Made a mistake of starting it in the first place but it said action and adventure which probably they have saved for the season finale. The most irritating point in British movies is the unnecessary pauses and scenes which should not be there at all, and this one is also not too different. 80 percent of first episode is done and all they have shown is the lady has moved from England to Spain and her child has grown with an incident and some overacting by a few. Don't bother wasting your time on this.

Plane
(2023)

Most stupid movie I have ever seen
This review has spoilers but I strongly suggest to read this because it will save 90 minutes of your precious time.

Halfway through I realized there were loopholes, like a plane crash lands and people very close to that area (the kidnappers) are not alarmed by the crash landing. But this did not stop there. The blunders had not even begun. The last 30 minutes of the movie is totally insane. The issue is that the directors could have easily covered and removed all the loopholes by just minor tweaking but don't know what they were thinking.

The pilot had disposed all fuel before crash landing and yet he decides to take off a plane which was sparking when crash landed. Then, an army of armed man is attacking on the plane and yet it is able to take off and also find another space to land again. Hilarious movie. Don't waste time.

Agent Carter
(2015)

How on earth this was cancelled
Season one was just too good. So was wondering while finishing it that there must have been something wrong that they cancelled it. Hayley was as usual super perfect in the role. When I started season 2 I felt bored in the first three episodes and started to feel it would further deteriorate and that's why it was cancelled but then it picked up and after midway it was as good as the previous one. Why I felt season 2 was boring in the beginning? Because it was too slow like a British tv serial and the role of butler was unnecessarily enhanced. The latter continued though, however by then the season had picked up the momentum.

Probably they took a decision to cancel it during the mid of season 2 because otherwise, just don't know why can marvel cancel such a fantastic play.

The Rookie
(2018)

Don't watch as you would regret
It was a brilliant show till episode number 16 in season one. The most powerful character in the play was the captain Zoë Anderson. The decision to kill her was one of the worst ones atleast me and my friend s stopped watching after her departure.

I have a strong feeling that Nathan Fillon fought with her like he did with stana katic in castle. Whatever it was, there was no point of watching it after Zoë Anderson departure because the producer would have come with other similar goof ups later. So my view is , don't give it a try.

I will not watch any series of Nathan again because he doesn't get along well on set with fellow actors.

Dexter
(2006)

The best of everything
I don't like violence at all, I mean, am ok with gun violence but can't watch any piercing or cutting scenes. So, that was the reason I never got the nerves to watch this, but when my friend told me that its something directed so well that there is hardly any bloody scene in it, and also that Yvonne is one of the cast, I decided to start watching it and it was too good. And the theme of the script is too good, where his foster father who was a police officer, realising his mental illness to kill, built up a code for him to follow; finding a justification to kill someone and that brings all the fun and also makes him adorable, the way he rationalises his victim before moving ahead with the kill. All the cast also has done justice with their roles.

Alexander
(2004)

Ruined production
This is from history so technically there wouldn't be any spoilers even if I want to do going ahead.

Such a good cast and they screwed up big time. The entire movie is like snakes and ladder game. The director was probably drunk while making this movie. Given the dates, which already are in reverse order (BC), they added to the confusion a total shuffle of the sequence. The story begins with the death of Alexander and then from that point onwards, it is sometimes taken back in time and sometimes front. Real shame as it could have been a very good movie.

By the way, I could not compete the movie and still 55 minutes are left but don't feel like completing it.

Top Gun
(1986)

How come this is rated below 7
It's the best movie of our times. Saw Kelly Mcgills for the first time and liked her more than Tom cruise. Even today, I find top guns 1 better than the second one so surprised at the rating score.

To my surprise, even the graphics done 30 years back were better and that movie was more realistic and credible too. However one thing still remains a mystery, the discussion of Penny Benjamin (thrice) in the first one seems as if the producers had planned for a sequel later so that's the only good thing about part 2.

While many may not agree with my choice above but I am sure that there won't be any argument on the music and songs, the top gun 1 album was out of this world.

The Blacklist
(2013)

It was 9 but now 3 without elizebeth keen
When the series started, we read about James spaders on set complaints about Megan Boons acting. The fact is that James Spader himself could never get out of Allan shore role that he performed. Redington and Allen shore seem to be the same person actually. Megan acted very well and was the heart of the story as well as the suspense. I did not watch season 9 post Meagan but someone lied to me telling me that watch it till the end and agent keen would be alive which is not true and a lot of people watched season 9 only expecting to see her alive again. The series should now better be ended.

Ms. Marvel
(2022)

Too much overacting
I would have given it a 9 had the lead role been done by a better actress; Surprised Yasmin fletcher has been casted and she is doing a side role though her expressions and acting is much much better. Ms. Marvel is overacting too much and if she thinks she is looking cute, she is far from it.

The story is building up pretty ok though and that's the only reason I have given 7, otherwise Iman Vellani has left no effort to have it rated 3.

I am trying best not to dislike her to the point where I will quit watching , so use a lot of remote to fast forward as much of her overacting as possible.

Viewers, all the best.

Top Gun: Maverick
(2022)

Just perfect
Two movies 30 years apart and they managed to link them perfectly as if it was all planned. For a person like me who liked Kelly Mcgills definitely more than Jennifer, I have still given it a rating of 10. While I was anticipating it, I thought that there could be Maverick's son from Charlotte but no, there was another twist. Won't call it better but yeah, they linked it perfectly. Best movie so far during the last 5 years.

The Boys
(2019)

Too much graphic violence
It started off too good and I was too excited as well as eagerly waited for season 2. Would have rated it 8 but there is too much unnecessary graphic violence. This starts in season 2 and keeps on increasing right from the first episode. Infact too much to the point that I have stopped watching it. For me, the directors have ruined the series. Were season 1 ratings low that they had to do this?

Interceptor
(2022)

School kids directed movie
This is the worst movie that I watched till the end. And the reason was only to see the height of stupidities and they won't surprise you till the end. Not a single actor did well and who chose the president ? You will laugh at the end.

Pieces of Her
(2022)

Too Slow and unnecessary complicating
Have only watched two episodes but it is too slow. Even slower than the usual British programs. It seems they don't have much of an story or even dialogues as they are stretching it by showing nonsense actions. Like loading of gun from end to end, as well as just roaming around where nothing is happening. Am surprised they didn't show the entire car journey from one city to another which they could have. In addition, unnecessary suspense is being added again and again where at least I have lost interest. Two episodes should be more than enough to decide if you want to continue or not, am afraid, I am done. Don't have the stamina to start the third episode.

FBI
(2018)

Declining as it goes
Season 1 and 2 were good but season 3 is a total disastor. Height of stupidities throughout every episode and it climaxes in the last episode where they threaten a drug lord about his family so he can agree to share the codes of the bomb he has planted and about to explode. Can someone ask the director that can't the drug lord have the bombs planted again in order to bargain for his freedom?

24: Legacy
(2016)

What were they thinking
What was fox thinking of linking this with 24? How can they.

Should have just left it with 9 seasons as this must not have anything to do with 24.

24: Live Another Day
(2014)

Kate Morgan
I think 24 producers missed the opportunity. Had they carried on with Kate Morgan, it would have been perfect. Jack Bauer's only possible replacement was Kate Morgan. They still are not late though :)

Absentia
(2017)

Could have been a perfect 10
I know people don't say that about Jack Bauer but if the director could have just changed a few scenes, I would have rated this a perfect 10. You can't make one too invincible like a nail nailed on the palm and yet she was able to carry out the action in the final episode. Could have been more better but i loved it and waiting for another season.

Those Who Wish Me Dead
(2021)

Only because of Jolie
I have it a 7 rating only because of Jolie. This movie otherwise doesn't deserve a notch over 4. Lots of loose ends throughout. Won't write more here as it's a new movie so no spoilers.
