Red River Road
(2020)

OK movie.
This movie as a whole is average at best. No where near an 8 or 10 as others have said. Be real, it's not up there with The Shining or The Godfather. It has a kind of interesting premise but no real ending. The acting and overall production was good. Worth a watch.

Resurrection
(2022)

It's not smart.
Other reviewers have commented that this movie is smarter than the viewers. It's not. Stop acting like you're in some elite club who gets it, you're not, and it's really pretentious. It expects the viewer to write an ending for the writers who took the easy way out and didn't finish it. It's a tired trick to make a story seem deeper than what it is, and it's getting old. It has good camera work, great acting, and a story that draws you in but the book has the last 3 pages missing.

Obligatory extra words and characters to appease the IMDB six hundred character minimum number of characters for a review.

Burial
(2022)

Bland
First off, this isn't an actual werewolf movie, but that's not really why it's bland. It's a war movie, and not a very good one. The actors and actresses were fine, although Russian accents would have added a little more realism. There's not really much as far as action is concerned that you haven't seen before done better. The lack of a story and no background of the main characters is what makes it so uninteresting. Not really recommended.

Glorious
(2022)

It's not original.
It's not that great. It's kind of like a movie called "Motivational Growth" but not nearly as good. J. K. Simmons does well with what he was given, but not as good as Jeffery Combs in "Motivational Growth". If you wanna see this done better, then go watch "Motivational Growth". I don't know why IMDB upped the word count for reviews but it makes it frustrating to leave a review.

Centurion
(2010)

Even Fassbender couldn't save it.
Comically bad writing. Cartoonish special effects. Idiotic actions by the characters. Use of filters that ruin what cinematography they did achieve. I was looking forward to this, but ended up not being able to finish it.

Four Lives
(2022)

bit of a let down
First, Stephen Merchant's acting was perfect. The rest of the cast, aside from a couple side characters, was not so good. The direction seemed to be to blame for it. The script was terrible, which I found weird coming from Jeff Pope who did "A Confession" and "Little Boy Blue" which were amazing. Still worth a watch as it's true story, but don't expect much.

The Kids in the Hall
(2022)

Finally
Absolute best thing on Prime. Every sketch is great except for maybe the "friends of kids in the hall" cameo sketches. It blows SNL out of the water. Hopefully looking forward to another season!

Kindred Spirits
(2019)

*WARNING* IT'S A LIFETIME MOVIE
The premise wasn't that bad. The dialog was weak. The normally decent actors were brought down by bad writing and poor direction. The ending was garbage. I wish Lifetime movies came with some kind of warning label.

In the Earth
(2021)

pretentious
It's pretentious. It's overrated. The people who rated this more than a 3 are pretentious. There is no plot. There is no story. There is no point. Stop pretending like you're smarter than other reviewers because you understand it, because you don't.

Torden
(2020)

Amazing
This is exactly how origin stories should be made. Not over the top. A must watch. I kept passing over this one for a while, glad I finally gave it a chance.

Nigel and Oscar Vs. The Sasquatch
(2016)

i liked it
Not a blockbuster, but good movie. Samson character was funny. Tim Meadows is always good. Worth a watch. -Obligatory extra words to appease the 150 character count-

Gwledd
(2021)

Subtitle issues
The subtitles take up a third of the screen and they are still hard to read because there is no background, just a thin outline. So when the scene has white objects like walls or a shirt, you can barely make out the subtitles. How in 2022 have we not figured out subtitles?

Crawl
(2011)

Really bad and slooooooow
Anyone giving this any rating above a 2 is a fake rating, unless they got high at the film festival when they saw the movie. Maybe some of the ratings and reviews were paid for, or just done by the crew and their friends and family. I like slow burn movies, this isn't one. It's a maybe three things happen and it takes forever kinda movie. By the end you just want it to be over.

Halo
(2022)

Paramount ruins another one
Paramount does it again, taking a beloved series, throwing it in a dumpster, and setting it on fire. If you want to make a garbage series, don't do it by ruining already established franchises. Create a new piece of garbage.

Das finstere Tal
(2014)

Not bad but remix the audio
Pretty decent revenge story, good scenery/mood. The audio desperately needs to be remixed. Background music drowns out dialog. The songs used don't match the era at all. Still a decent watch.

The Conversation
(1974)

overrated
The acting was good. Way too long for hardly any payoff. Lots of overly drawn out scenes. Pretentious critics will love it, most people will not. I wouldn't recommend.

They Remain
(2018)

Who remain? SAY SOMETHING!
Seriously, who remain? There is some mention of a cult, is that who remain? Who are they? Why? Is the cult good or bad? If bad, why? What did they do? Are the main characters good or bad, or one good and one bad? Is the company they work for good or bad? These are things usually included in a story. Nothing is explained, nor shown. Nothing makes sense. I don't always expect the story to be handed to me on a silver platter, but you gotta say something. This movie says and does nothing, which is a shame because the acting and cinematography were well done.

Riverhead
(2016)

good movie, but
Everything was pretty well done as far as acting, direction, camera work, and writing. I thought the ending was kinda ambiguous, unless I missed something. I'm not really a fan of unclear endings. I'm sure other reviewers are gonna say it's a message thing, as in it doesn't really matter or something but to each his own. It's still worth a watch.

The Deeper You Dig
(2019)

more of this
Very simple and effective. Doesn't try too hard. Good acting. Good production. Excellent late night atmospheric movie. A lot for other filmmakers to learn from here.

Doom: Annihilation
(2019)

Doom: SJW Edition
Once you're introduced to the cast of characters, you're ready to turn it off. Doomguy is a woman here for some reason when, in the actual game, the protagonist is literally named "Doomguy". The supporting cast is diverse to the point of madness and none of them are likable. I understand that diversity is important, but blatantly shoe-horning it in there isn't good for anyone.

Creepshow
(2019)

2 good halves of episodes
First off, there's good camera work and decent effects in all the episodes. Maybe half of the acting is decent but I'd say a lot of the bad acting has to do with the director and the writing. I only found 2 stories to be well done and those would be "The House of the Dead" and "The Finger".

Survivors
(2015)

needs sound mixed properly
Dialog is too low and the rest is too loud. Everything sounds overly bassy. It's hard to understand the characters. I tried to use subtitles but it was obvious whoever did the subtitles couldn't understand the dialog either. A shame because it seems like it might have been a decent low-budget flick.

Tin Star: The Bagman Cometh
(2019)
Episode 5, Season 2

terrible
Absolute, worst episode of the series. There is a cartel hitman coming to kill a family, so they decide to have a Dr. Phil-style family intervention.

Yummy
(2019)

Definitely worth a watch.
One of the better comedic zombie movies to come out lately. Not plagued with the rapid-fire, snarky, annoying dialog that America has been putting out. Fun, well acted, well directed.

Utopia
(2020)

Bubblegum pop version of a good series.
Unlikeable characters, weak dialog, and a confused tone make's this feel like a high schooler's remake of the original. Just watch the original one.
