This is your rehashed for the hundredth time, family comedy with stereotyped characters. There's the gay son, straight jock brother, genius but weird sister, Dad who brings in the money and Mom who tries to solve everyone's problems. Naturally, there's also the ditzy aunt and stern religious grandmother to complete the collection. The episodes are shallow and done in traditional sitcom style. The plot lines are all repetitive and become boring and predictable after a while as they seem to follow some type of formula. There really is no discussion of serious gay themes that face adolescent gay people, everything is just one big laugh. By the middle of the second season, it's obvious that it just could not continue so it was good that the series got cancelled.
This series is a teen soap opera about gay characters. It's a bit like "Heartstopper" but with characters who all appear to be wealthy and despite being high school students, seem to have unlimited budgets to buy whatever they want. The series is overflowing with much too much teen angst, to the point where the storyline becomes blurred. The soundtrack is really annoying and distracting. Overall, there really isn't too much to the series to recommend it. There are much better examples of teen gay stories out there and it's probably a wise decision to end it after season 3. More episodes or another season would not have added much as the story had already run its course.
This is a hybrid soap opera and medical procedural drama rolled into one. The medical aspects are simply ridiculous, it's more about the dramas surrounding the characters. However, these undercurrents are so strong that the constant bickering, open discussion of private lives in front of patients just make it all.....ridiculous. It really makes The Pitt look outstanding, when in itself, Pitt is just very mediocre. This has the usual diverse cast of characters that cover the full range of ethnicities, disabilities, genders etc. Unfortunately, what it lacks is a story that can be told without flashbacks that resemble PTSD episodes. It's really a Pulse that's impalpable, and on its way to stopping!
