The Grand Tour: Morroccan Roll
(2016)
Episode 5, Season 1

This episode is a let down
The show started off with some funny skits about Holland. Then there was a promising road trip in Marocco. However, it started to get off track once Jeremy lost his subtle humour and was trying to be funny being contemptuous to animals. James and the little guy started to play a boring board game blowing up cars while thinking they were funny polluting the environment. The thing is, they have done this a hundred times before and these are cruel jokes. The best jokes are those that they play on themselves, not at the expense of animals or the environment. That's when people start losing interest in the show because it just becomes vulgar.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
(2015)

First Season was great, second Season so so...
In the second season the character Kimmy Schmidt is still funny and inspiring. However, other characters tend to be a bit over the top. Particularly, Titus becomes so exaggerated and annoying that I had to stop watching the show.

I hope the writers will introduce more characters that make the show less predictable and raise the level of suspense.

Generally, directors deal with this film really well – they focus on Kempers strengths and also use several really cool visual perspectives to add to the comedy – like colorful shots and quick cuts. So the show has got potential. Let's hope they tweak a few things the next time around.

I Love Dick
(2016)

Great writing and acting!
Overall, an enjoyable experience commendable to those who are open to a more artistic and thoughtful type of entertainment.

It is nice to see that Amazon is investing in such sophisticated material. There is a subtle humour in it, almost on a Saul Bellow level. The protagonist "Chris" played by Kathryn Hahn seems to be experiencing a midlife crisis. Her inner turmoil is caused by the conflict between her bloated self-image and her realization that she might never be able live up to her high expectations.

And then there is "Dick" the professor played by Kevin Bacon. She projects all her aspirations onto his masculine attractiveness, which make him absolutely irresistible.

The film induces a somewhat reflective mood. At the same time it is full of vivid expression and wit. The sensuality adds the tension that makes you want to continue watching.
