Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One
(2023)

Worst one yet
First of all, I wasn't happy that this is part one of two. It makes you not want to see the first part until the second part is out. Secondly, the story is weak and muddled. It's also too long. There are good action sequences of course which is the main attraction but at nearly 3 hours long they are overshadowed by boring scenes. I honestly feel that this franchise has had its day. There just wasn't enough interest in it for me to watch the second part so I think I'll just give it a miss, especially if it's nearly 3 hours long like this one. Maybe they could do a mission impossible in space like fast and furious.

Halloween Ends
(2022)

What were they thinking?
This isn't a Halloween film. There is no Michael Myers. There's just an apprentice. A badly cast one. Out of all possible storylines they could of chose they picked this one? Michael Myers junior? Does Michael have accomplices? Does he buddy up with people to kill them? No he doesn't. Ever.

I had a bad feeling about this film when I didn't see Michael for the first half hour. Then nearly an hour. Then I felt like I was watching a teen movie from the 80's. A really bad one. I'm not exaggerating it makes me feel sick how bad this film is. Really ruined the series. Out of this trilogy the first one was ok and that's pushing it. Never let Danny Mcbride loose on a horror franchise again.

Nope
(2022)

Just as I suspected
Jordan Peele is a one hit wonder. The film was just stupid. First of all, all the characters are not good. Non of them. Secondly, it's just bizarre and not in a good way. The scenes are boring and really stretched out and irrelevant which makes the film way too long. Also the actual mystery of film, I.e the UFO is underwhelming. It doesn't even make sense! And the lamest thing about it is that there is no explaination of where it came from, why it's there and why does it do what it does. Sky jellyfish? Come on this film would of never been made years ago and for good reason it's just not good and I think people are kidding themselves if they think it is.

Better Call Saul: Saul Gone
(2022)
Episode 13, Season 6

Cop out
Disappointed with the last episode, Saul was a bonafide hustler, there's no way he would take all those years just so Kim didn't get sued. They weren't even together, now she will be with another man while he dies in jail? Saul would never do that.

Elevator
(2012)

Good film!
I enjoyed it. For a film mostly set on an elevator it is quite entertaining. You have drama, suspense and a little comedy too. It doesn't get boring and there's enough different types of characters to keep you entertained. Overall worth a watch.

They/Them
(2022)

It was ok
I'm a Kevin Bacon fan so I gave it a go. It's an interesting idea and there is some good dialogue with some actually funny one liners however it had an off feeling about it, maybe the pacing? Didn't feel right. Then when Duke died it went down hill. Also I thought the killer was unrealistic like in the new scream film. It's worth a watch for its uniqueness. Overall not bad but not great either.

Devil
(2010)

Nice little horror
Simple horror about 5 people stick in an elevator/lift and things get a little spooky. Has a little back story and a determined detective on the case. It's simple yet effective. I watch it now and again as anyone can get stuck in an elevator but my main concern would be skipping a meal. Overall good film.

Westworld
(2016)

End this please
I've just finished season 4 and for goodness sake what a waste of time. Right Dolores, this season I want you to look confused. A lot. Is that it? Yes just look confused. Watch out for them flies too. Isn't that off the X files? No no of course not. Should we drag this out for another 6 seasons like the walking dead? Have you seen the bill? Cancel.

House of the Dragon
(2022)

I didn't like it
First of all the cast are terrible and the characters even worse. Non of them are likeable, in fact they are irritating. The story is boring. Who will be the heir? A loose cannon with ambition and sinister intentions. Sound familiar?

Production values and cinematography are on point. I turned it off about 5 minutes before the end because I had enough. Disappointing unfortunately.

Day Shift
(2022)

A Netflix production
It was never going to rise above mediocrity. Average action film. Good stunts however it was cliche and it's been done before, bad guy has my daughter, unlikely partnerships etc. Solid production though but could have been better.

Big Rich Texas
(2011)

Love this show
Bring it back. Gutted it finished. The cat fights were hilarious. Some comedy gold moments. All the characters are excellent. There needs to be a reunion.

From
(2022)

This show has potential
I like the mystery of it and the demons are pretty cool. It has a lost vibe to it which is the point as it has one of the guys from Lost. The only let down is the terrible characters. I recommend a bloodbath in S2E01 then replace with characters more interesting.

Bullet Train
(2022)

Forever blowing bubbles
Very entertaining film, full of action and comedy. It's a crazy film, over the top even but it's enjoyable and I liked the various different characters and their back stories. There's a lack of good films this summer at the cinema but fortunately this was a good one to watch.

The Gray Man
(2022)

Above average
The Gray Man is a terrible film title. There is decent action in this, no expense spared, great cast as well. A lot better than your average Netflix film. I think perhaps they went wrong making it a bit of a comedy? Maybe if it were more serious and edgy I think it would of been better. Overall decent but could of been better.

Prey
(2022)

Predator looks...different
And he's a bit of a wimp too. Why does he need his invisibility cloak to kill a wolf? He sure gets a lot of injuries off some skinny guys too. My guess is that the predators have not evolved to what they have of modern times.

The film itself is better than expected. It's no masterpiece but at least they didn't turn it into a comedy like the last one. It's a little slow in places but this is the 1700s, not a lot is going on at once. Decent action scenes and good acting. Overall worth a watch.

Black Rain
(1989)

Classic Douglas action
80s style action film. New York, machine guns, over the top killings, Japan, Yakuza and pump action shotguns mixed with a bit of karaoke. This film has it all. Watch if you like any of the above.

77 Minutes
(2016)

The footage is harrowing
It shows the shocking extent the gunman did to his victims. The story itself is very good however it felt really cheap the production values which was a disappointment.

The Black Phone
(2021)

Your arm is mint, you almost had me.
Decent little film, set in the 70s, definitely has the Blumhouse vibe to it. It's a thriller not a horror and has the classic survival story. It has some plot holes, the backstory isn't fleshed out but it's worth a watch.

The Man from Toronto
(2022)

I wanted to like it
Woody Harrelson is a great actor but this feels like a blatant cash grab. Kevin Hart plays himself . Again. There were some laughs and it is well made to be fair but nothing special. Comedies need to be more funny.

Jurassic World Dominion
(2022)

Dinosaur good story bad
I enjoy the Jurassic Park films for the action and the dinosaurs who I thought were better actors than the people. First of all the clone girl story is boring and the villain is one of the lamest in cinema history. Also the film is too dark, it reminded me of that GOT episode when it's too dark. If you over analyse the plot holes and the previous films you will not enjoy it but to be honest I just watch for the dinosaurs.

House of Gucci
(2021)

I liked it
It was interesting. I think the cast did a good job playing their parts. Lady Gaga and Adam Driver particularly. I found Jared Leto as Paulo hilarious. It took me a while to recognise him but he played the part very well. It does drag in parts and it's a sad story really but overall it's a well made film and I like it.

Stranger Things: Chapter Nine: The Piggyback
(2022)
Episode 9, Season 4

They are really milking it now
This series is ridiculous it's very boring and thinks it's hilarious when it really isn't. Comedy pilots and prison settings with the Hell fire club being hunted by high school tough guys was lame. The last episode is very corny, a lot of crying with sad music. I've lost interest in this and won't be watching again.

Last Seen Alive
(2022)

Below par
It was ok for casual run of the mill thriller and a Gerald Butler carried the film however it wasn't that great. The film felt like it was shot on an iPhone, very shaky. Some of the plot didn't make sense and the missing woman is a terrible actress. The cop was good though and overall it's wasn't bad it was just average.

White Girl
(2016)

Someone's been a naughty girl...
What I found funny about this was the "gangstas" and the way they spoke. Kilo looks like a sloth for real, son. Yo you shouldn't do that shorty. Etc. Also the main actress is very naughty. If her father finds out....

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
(2022)

When marvel goes too far...
Is it me or is this the most baffling marvel film there is? Is there a plot or a story? It just seemed to be nonsense. A film should make sense whether you are a big fan or a novice. I like Marvel but I'm a casual viewer. I don't want to watch a film where it's like, "you need to watch film 23 and episode 9 of season 1 to understand the plot. Loved the first film too. This is literally madness.
