Riverdale: Chapter Thirty-Nine: The Midnight Club
(2018)
Episode 4, Season 3

Something Special
Riverdale has always exceeded the point of realism and sometimes has shaky dialogue but this episode is stripped back and revamps the series with a one off flashback episode and it really impressed me.

The acting from Lili Reinhart particularly impressed me as she's playing someone with more angst opposed to being light and sweet as she usually is. All the other actors also did a great job and I found it unique that they kept most of the same actors to play the parents.

It's fun and crazy at times but does add more layers to the parents. I really hope we get another flashback episode because right now Riverdale is at its peak.

Doctor Who: The Woman Who Fell to Earth
(2018)
Episode 1, Season 11

Meet the 13th Doctor
In this episode we get introduced to the new companions and are new doctor and I'm happy to say that the woman who fell to earth lands firmly on her feet. Jodie Whittaker delivered a stellar performance in her Doctor Who debut and I'm exited to see what else she brings to the table.

The companions where also really great, especially the character of Ryan who suffers from the condition of Dyspraxia, he has a very touching story and I think his condition could make for some really intense moments in future episodes.

I also found the alien of this episode rather disturbing in the best way and I think it's a great throwback to the weird and wonderful aliens of Doctor Who.

Love: Catalina
(2018)
Episode 12, Season 3

Fitting end to a great series
This series has been a great piece of entertainment and has progressively got better each season. It's sad that the series has come to a end in just it's third season but it seems fitting.

This episode wasn't perfect but it did it's job. Mickey and Gus go to Catalina to get married and invite all there friends to join them, most people cannot believe that it's even a possibly but Gus and Mickey have settled and feel ready.

This episode made me smile because everything worked out nicely which never likely happens with Gus and Mickey, usually something sets either of them off but in this episode they both got on perfectly and them getting married was beautiful and is what I wanted to happen since the beginning of the series.

This episode does have some problems, it does feel slightly rushed and feels like it could have left us with more than it did, I understand we are to now decide what happens to these characters but it felt a bit to ubrupt for me. Other than that I completely loved this episode.

8/10.

Love: One Long Day
(2016)
Episode 2, Season 1

Meet Mickey and Gus
This was the introduction the show deserved, the pilot should have been scrapped and this used instead. In this episode Gus and Mickey meet and generous Gus offers to pay for Mickeys items which leads to a little adventure around town for Mickey to pay Gus back.

Both leads have striking chemistry and work of one another brilliantly, the reason why this episode is so entertaining is because the actors are improvising some of there scenes and it's so natural that it's a joy to watch and feels like it's happening in real time.

Hannibal: Mizumono
(2014)
Episode 13, Season 2

Televisions Finest Moment
Mizumono in my opinion is the greatest episode of television ever made, it's bloody, poetic and the last 10 minutes of the episode was the most intense viewing experience I have ever had.

Mads Mickelsen (Hannibal) gives a award worthy performance and all of the cast do in fact. The visuals and imagery were both beautifal and haunting. This season finale gave us one of the most tragic losses and one of the biggest cliffhangers.

Love: It Begins
(2016)
Episode 1, Season 1

A Weak Begining To A Great Show
This episode introduces us to Gus who is a on set teacher for a television series called Wichita and Mickey who is a programme manager at a radio station. Both leads don't meet until the final scene of this episode which I think didn't work to the pilot episodes advantage.

Having seen the whole 3 seasons of this show, this episode is by far one of the weakest episodes of the entire series and could be skipped and you wouldn't have missed much of anything. I think the episode that follows after does a much better job of officially introducing these characters since they properly meet.

Some jokes didn't really land and having know what the characters are like since I've watched the series in this episode everyone seems to be a bit out of character and haven't found there flow yet but I highly recommend this underrated netflix original because it gets more consistent each season and is a really lovely and sweet show that you'll miss once you've finished.

War for the Planet of the Apes
(2017)

"Apes Together Strong"
This is the conclusion to the so far great trilogy and War for the Planet of the Apes does not disappoint, although it my be slower and a lot less action than the previous movies it focuses more on the apes than ever and gives each ape a purpose and makes you feel for them in times of need. The special effects and CGI is better than ever you almost feel like these apes are real from the the movement to the texture and the environments that surround them are enhanced and put together masterfully.

The addition of Woody Harrelson's character as the Colonel added a sense of real conflict and he wasn't just ominous villain because we as viewers understand where he is coming from, he is fighting to protect the human race although he does some dark and sinister things he has a reason. Another bright spot was the introduction of Bad Ape who caused some major laughs to come from the audience and the way they balanced a comic relief character in a dark movie has to be praised.

The first act of this movie is undeniably the best its fast moving there's a bit of action there is tension and conflict and it gives Ceaser a reason to set out on his mission. Ceaser is also old and broken and has had enough of the humans and is struggling to cope with is hate for the humans, it is the perfect arc for his character at this time we have see him grow from a smart intelligent chimp to a life size ape leader and figure so to see Ceaser struggle makes for some true entertainment.

Although this movie has many great things it still does have some negatives unfortunately those being that the pacing in the second act drags a little and it lost some steam and some things that happened in the movie felt convenient, also the movie was very long and there were scenes that I felt could be cut out. It still is a fitting end to a great trilogy and will be remembered for years to come.

Alien: Covenant
(2017)

Return to form
Alien Covenant is a return to form for the Alien franchise whilst also being a Alien prequel and sequel Prometheus and in the movie it works well and helps enhance the story, Alien Covenant is a more enjoyable movie than Prometheus and helps clear things that where blurred in that movie.

Alien Covenant has impressive visuals and a sleek look that keeps the viewer invested even if no dialogue is present, the first two acts are more based on the science fiction element and the third act focuses more on the alien slasher element but the movie is already riveting without the slasher element so when it shows up it just a bonus.

The cast is very good even though some are expendable but nothing we haven't come to imagine. Pacing does drag here and there so don't let your expectations subvert you and don't expect lots of action with xenomorphs very early on although your plate will be filled by the end. I like to think its a blend of Alien, Aliens mixed with some shades of Prometheus.

Whilst this movie is not as good as Aliens I do believe its the best Alien movie since it.

Logan
(2017)

Logan is everything you wanted it to be and more
Logan is the 2017 movie everyone has been anticipating after two great trailers and a R rating it delivers a surprising amount of heart to characters we have grown to love and know and also balancing a surprising amount of action within the first and third act climax, its violent but not blood for blood sake every cut is with reason.

Logan presents us with Logan (Wolverine), Professor X and Laura (X-23) and by definition its an escort mission involving X-23 but shes more capable than Logan and Professor X thinks and shes able to fend for herself. Logan is old and a grizzled shadow of what he once was and by going on this mission he unlocks some of the old wolverine inside of him and we see bursts of that throughout the movie, Logan also begins to realize things about himself through the vision of this little girl because they have striking similarities.

Every scene in this film feels necessary from the character development to the humor and action nothing is forced everything comes off natural which is a breath of fresh air and I was very pleased with it, I believe that this movie will be very well received by fans as it treats its characters with such care and embarks on an emotional and satisfying conclusion to Hugh Jackmans Logan (Wolverine).

John Wick: Chapter 2
(2017)

John Wick is coming for you with his gun and pencil
John Wick 2 is a great sequel that wasn't underwhelming it produced great action scenes great performances and there wasn't a dull moment in sight, its more fast paced than the first but all in good favor, Keanu Reeves gives it his all and adds a lot to these movies I'm hopeful that this continues on to be a great franchise, we got are first peek into the mob underworld in the first movie and in this movie its more fleshed and we get to know more about wick as the story progresses as I said it adds more to the story in every aspect which is to be praised.

I also believe that the action set pieces in this movie topped its predecessor with stunts where you tilt your head in amazement. Only negatives sometimes the movie doesn't take time to stop and let you have a breather but otherwise its a very impressive movie with great acting, story and action sequences. JOHN WICK YOUR NOT VERY GOOD AT RETIRING!!

Prison Break
(2005)

A title that lives up to its name
This show surprised me on many levels it had some of the best character depth I've seen on any show in quite some time it presents a premise and delivers on every level, I have watched Prison Break some what of 3 times over and each time i have found new things to like, its masterful direction and acting should definitely be acknowledged it truly is one of the top shows out today and each episode keeps pulling you into its story until you feel like you know the characters personally and are stuck in this situation. The show is about a well established man named Micheal who holds up a bank robbery to get himself thrown in prison to break out his brother (Lincoln) who is going up for the death penalty for a crime he is believed to of not committed. THIS SHOW MAKES BREAKING OUT OF PRISON FUN!!!

A Series of Unfortunate Events
(2017)

Good start to a bad beginning
This show started off promising and then each episode got consistently better introducing new and kwerky characters, I personally enjoyed the 2004 adaptation and this has some sprinkles of that in this series with also whole heap of new things to be explored and as a first season it has delivered i would have liked a darker tone to be cast similar to the movie but its still enjoyable for the most part and the child performances really surprised me and I appricated there presence, Its definitely not for everyone but give a try and you might find yourself having a lot of fun with this series. HAVE A WATCH YOU MIGHT JUST LOVE IT!!
