Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part One
(2024)

Good in general but confusing
I liked it in general because it was a DC comics animation which I usually enjoy. However, I despise the Multiverse!!!! It makes for very confusing storylines. It's hard to keep up with which character is on which version of the same planet or an entirely different planet and which time period - present, past, or future. So I will probably have to watch this a couple more times to figure out what's going on. Just when one storyline started to make sense, it would switch to a different universe or time period.

Sometimes I think these superhero stories introduced the Multiverse just so that the characters don't have to be the same all the time. Superman could be good in one universe and bad in another. They can introduce heroes or villains that are almost the same as the ones we know well but change it up just a little bit.

I'm sure some people like that aspect of the Multiverse, but I like it to remain basically true to the original concepts.

Évolution
(2015)

Pointless
This was one of the most pointless movies I have ever watched. Perhaps I just didn't get what it meant. It was just dumb. There wasn't a lot of dialogue so it didn't even really matter that it was not in English. I read a review that said it was about mermaids. Thanks for that because I wouldn't have put together the women as being mermaids, it was just completely weird.

And what did they put in the jars? Were they fetuses that didn't survive? If so, why did they keep them?

Did all of the boys have to die to help them reproduce? Where did they get the boys? Too many unanswered questions and seemingly no focus.

When the mermaid and the boy swam together, mouth-to-mouth, was she breathing for him? What was the point of that?

I just didn't get it at all! What was the ultimate message?

Queen & Slim
(2019)

Loved this movie
I didn't think I was gonna be able to watch this movie at first given the main issue that occurs. A police stop gone wrong. A police stop that never should've happened. Innocent folks caught up in a horrible situation. Something that happens all too often in real life. But the movie became so much more than just the incident. There were some deep moments. People really came together to help out the protagonists.

The ending was too sad. Very hard to watch. After everything they went through to get away and to be minutes away from escaping and then for it to end the way it did. They became immortal though.

Bel-Air
(2022)

This is Great
All of those people expecting a comedy, that is NOT what this is. I love the concept of taking the frame of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and tackling some serious issues.

Bruised
(2020)

Pretty good
I'm not a big Halle Berry fan and this movie is not my typical genre, this was pretty good. I enjoyed watching it and Halle's acting was good as well.

Vanishing on 7th Street
(2010)

Do not waste your time
This was an awful movie. People doing dumb things. I hate that kind of writing - when EVERYBODY does the one thing they shouldn't do. And then the ending was no ending - no resolution.

The Proposal
(2009)

Love this movie!
It's hilarious! I love the whole premise. Shows how you can feel different about someone by just taking the time to get to know them.

Q-Force
(2021)

Entertaining and funny
Yeah, there's some very stereotypical parts in this series, but overall it is entertaining. Funny! I am curious how the LGBTQ+ community feels about though.

The Water Man
(2020)

Boring and pointless
That was one of the most boring and pointless movies I have ever watched. There was no resolution to anything.

A Place to Call Home
(2013)

An excellent series
I absolutely LOVED this series. It tackled so many social issues: women's issues - health and social, sexism in general, racism, sexual orientation, old values and virtues versus new. I could go on and on. Great female heroes from many generations. Characters were challenged to look at themselves in mirror constantly and in some cases didn't like the person they saw and changed. Idealistic I know. And as others have said, I totally boo hooed throughout the final episode. I like how they wrapped up the final season - not leaving us to wonder what happened to every one. Loved Elizabeth's epitaph!

Gisaengchung
(2019)

Excellent Movie
Even reading captions did not take anything away from me enjoying this movie thoroughly! The twist and turns and bitter ironies! The one moment in the timeline that flipped everything. One minute conning your way into good fortune to doing something completely stupid and turning good fortune to an absolute nightmare.

L.A.'s Finest
(2019)

Good show
I am thoroughly enjoying this show. The first couple of shows were rough, but the storyline picked up and I love the tie in with the Bad Boys franchise.

In Contempt
(2018)

Really good show.
First episode I thought it was going to be the same old same old, but each episode got better and better. Looking forward to upcoming episodes.
