The Coen brothers are no strangers to a true great work in cinematography. This is not one of them.

The big hurdle in the first twenty minutes for me, having watched Dexter three times through, is they name the lead Morgan and she could easily play Deb in some kind of spin off prequel series. It's extra tough since the movie is all about police work. I keep waiting for Doaks to walk in on a precinct scene. Good flick, slightly cookie cutter.

This movie is such a slow starter I was ready for it to end. The acting was so horrible based on the cast that I actually said that guy almost looks like Val Kilmer and it WAS Val Kilmer. They should have stuck with the original title, Cure for Insomnia.

Don't get me wrong a pilot doesn't always define the greatness potential a series has (See Taxi, Mash, Dexter) but for goodness sake make me want to come back. I think this show has a ton of potential, unfortunately it left MUCH to be desired. I found myself on three occasions of what is part one of its pilot accurately predicting the next line or exactly what the scene was building up to. In a genre where there's no grey area, it's either great or junk, I need a bit more to devote time out of my week to you, not The Good Doctor or other competition. Especially in an era where I can binge Greys or ER or St Elsewhere even Doogie Howser whenever I want. You have my vote out of the gate, make me right.
