Headgame (2018)

So many cameras, yet no perspective.

In a movie where everyone has a camera lens in their foreheads, we seldom, if ever, see any first-person footage. They lenses played virtually no role in the movie as far as showing what footage they were receiving.

For the majority of the film the action is seen through a fourth wall. It doesn't make sense.

The La Llorona Curse (2019)

If you're a shlub like me, you may watch this if you have no life. Either way, the audio SUCKS. Sound will drop to almost zero and then slowly get louder. It happens when they try to overlay music or some other added sound. Sometimes, it just happens.

As for me, I'm somehow interested in this crap because despite the awful... well... everything, these people got together and filmed their version of the clichéd found footage story, and I support teamwork.

Subtitles are a must, which also means you will have to look up from your phone for a few minutes, and actually watch it.

Paranormal (2009)

Praise music hell.

I liked the movie up until it went all evangelical. I'm a Christian and this movie was offensive to me from that perspective. When they got all "praise music" on our asses, the acting suffered and so did the plot. There was no inspiration. IMHO, it was an affront to the religion.

Go back and rewatch The Exorcist if you want a little holy inspirational horror.

Dybbuk Box: The Story of Chris Chambers (2019)

I hate to say it...

For whatever reason, I really enjoyed the movie. I agree all the negs, and why. But I liked Chris Chambers' acting.

Yes, it's another one of "those" movies, and I have seen a ton of them (which is another matter altogether), I really enjoyed it. I felt I could relate to the character, and for me, his acting was very convincing.

One man show with an ashtray budget... and he committed!!! I give him a thumbs up 👍

Death Ranch (2020)

1971? I don't think so, mmkay?

In the opening of the movie, Brandon Cobbs, having just escaped prison, finds a public telephone in 1971 that is WAY ahead of its time. A public phone in 1971 TN would have been in a booth with a dial.

That's all I have to say about this movie because I haven't watched the rest of it yet. I had to stop and write my review now, because after that ridiculous scene, nothing else matters from here on out. However, I'm still looking forward to finishing it after I press 'submit.'
