A satisfying movie coming from a guy that never read the leaks I never saw the leaks (hallelujah), and I think whoever it was that leaked the movie should be fired, because they're the ones that caused this HUGE fiasco between the fans.
In all honesty, it wasn't perfect. The first half, yes, was mostly just plot hole fixes from Rian's film, but the second half I felt like it paid off fairly well. I did enjoy moments of fan service, and I didn't feel like it was overused.
The script was...interesting. They could have done things better with that.
To be perfectly honest here, the original trilogy will always be superior than Disney's interpretation of the war amongst the stars. The prequels, despite their many flaws, I was able to find some entertainment in, especially with Revenge of the Sith.
Before I end this review, let me just say that none of this is JJ Abrams' fault. While yes, Force Awakens was a bit lackluster, i can tell Abrams does care A LOT about the fans, and he WANTED to give us a movie we can look back on as a "good" movie. However, after ALL the damage that was dealt with Rian's the Last Jedi, there was only so much he could do to repair the story we all know and love. Also the actors/actresses that are a part of this trilogy I find no fault in. They were just following the script.
On its own, I feel like the Rise of Skywalker was okay. I can find myself watching this again in theaters.
If you want to see this movie, please go see it with an open mind.
