Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi
(2017)

COULD'VE BEEN BETTER.
Though some view this as disappointing, the includes some very neat plot twists and action scenes all throughout. I think the movie was good, but it could have been better. The entire casino plotline with Finn and Rose was absolutely pointless and only added more runtime to an already long movie.

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens
(2015)

PERFECT BLEND OF SOMETHING FRESH AND FAMILIAR.
A perfect blend of something fresh and familiar, the nostalgia feels are there but aren't the focus, the new characters are so exciting, stunning visual, emotionally effective space adventure, also does a lot of great world and character building that might be even more fun than before.

P.s. In many places it feels like a reboot of episode IV.

Rogue One
(2016)

WHAT A SPIN OFF!
Absolutely brilliant balance of new material while also respecting and implementing parts of the star wars universe that already exist. Great characters, shame they all got killed off so soon and of course amazing flow into A New Hope!

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
(2005)

FITTING END TO THE PREQUEL.
Fitting end to the prequels! The culmination of a two other movies that ends with so much emotion weight and a great pay off that transition to the original trilogy.

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones
(2002)

NOT SO GREAT.
The third act was action packed and set up the third film well. The fight scenes and music were great. The rest of the movie..... not so great. Generally the dialogue was fine, but the flirting was cringeworthy. Acting also generally fine, but in romantic scenes not so much.

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace
(1999)

GOOD WORLDBUILDING, BUT..
A movie being carried by a few good scenes and great worldbuilding. Unfortunately the phantom menace suffers from stiff acting, unimaginative dialogue and far too much comedy.

Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi
(1983)

WEAKEST OF THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY, BUT STILL A BLAST.
Return of the Jedi doesn't seem to be regarded as highly as the first two originals, but it has the phenomenal action and impactful character arcs we love from star wars. The weakest of this incredible trilogy but still a blast. It felt like there was a lot of filler leading up to the Luke/Vader confrontation.

The Empire Strikes Back
(1980)

HOW TO MAKE A PERFECT SEQUEL.
This is the best example of how to make a perfect sequel of a movie. A sequel that clearly differentiates itself from the original whilst building on the characters and the story in thrilling and surprising ways without a fault. An iconic masterpiece of pure escapism filled with thrills and fun.

Star Wars
(1977)

WHAT A START.
Even with its flaws, this is still unquestionably one of the finest sci-fi movies ever made. Exceptional visual graphics and camera work for a movie released in the 1970s. The plot makes sense and is easy to understand. A classic. What a start.

Jurassic World Dominion
(2022)

AS THE FINALE, IT FALLS FLAT.
Was it a bit corny? Yes. Was there a lot of fan service? Obviously yes. Was it a fun movie? Also yes. You can go in expecting a fun movie and not have the need for it to be a masterpiece. As a regular Jurassic movie, it would be great but as the finale, it falls flat.

RRR (Rise Roar Revolt)
(2022)

HILARIOUSLY RIDICULOUS AND STUPID.
The action scenes were just as badass. It's so hilariously ridiculous and stupid that I loved it. It's basically a superhero movie. The two actors were also the important part that made these scenes entertaining. The story itself was not bad, even though it dragged so much during the middle part.

The Lost City
(2022)

LIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
Light entertainment. Typical cheesy plot, but Pitt, Tatum and Bullock made a great humor team. Radciffe was a good bad guy. A type of film just to kill your time.

Top Gun: Maverick
(2022)

WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!
Everything you loved, and everything you didn't know you needed. What an absolute escapist movie. Been a long time since we've seen a mindless adventure film.

Top Gun
(1986)

TAKE MY BREATH AWAY.
The action is great, as is the pacing and music; even with "Take My Breath Away" being slightly overused at one point. It's about being what you were meant to do and how to move on from a tragedy.

The Northman
(2022)

A LOVE LETTER TO VIKING CULTURE.
A love letter to viking culture and mythology that, at the same time reflects on the cycle of violence that prevailed on ancient cultures like this, and still shapes our society. Much like the people in its story, The Northman leaves you wanting for a clear resolution that just isn't in the cards. It is about a journey which may have potholes, but is worth taking nonetheless.

Morbius
(2022)

I'VE SEEN WORSE.
Not as bad as I thought it would be, but still a mediocre film with a bad development and horrible villain with no motivation. I didn't like the ending at all and the post credit scene it's very forced.

Teka Teki Tika
(2021)

GOING NOWHERE...
This film seems to have an identity crisis. It cannot determine what genre it will lead to. If you only read the synopsis, you would definitely think that this film will have a thriller or at least a mystery genre. However, the reality is that the thriller or mystery is not felt in the film at all. The repeated plot twists actually feel too exaggerated amd make the story seem absurd.

Avatar
(2009)

2009? WOW.
The technical achievement is impressive, and it's worth watching for that alone. The concept is extremely foreign, but somehow, it just works. The plot says a lot about the real world. Truly a gripping story.

The House
(2022)

INTERESTING.
It is not a film that you as a watcher 'understand' but rather the film understands you. It taps into your fears, your insecurities, your heart, your sanity. This film is a dark comedy, a heavy dark comedy with a lot of the humor sometimes going over the heads of average viewers, but even with the dramatic moments, the film still feels emotional.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
(2022)

SAM RAIMI IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS.
Sam Raimi brought a new tone to the MCU, and it felt so different and good. It was handled so differently from all the other MCU movies but felt through and through like a really good comic book adaptation. It is so unique, weird, scary, and gory that it's one of the best MCU movies, in my opinion. What I do think could have been better was the run time. It could have given us more time to breathe and process what happened between scenes. But overall, this movie was such an experience!

Moon Knight
(2022)

AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE.
It's somewhat different from the cliche we usually expect in superhero films. In a good way. Not what I was expecting, but it was good. Excellent acting performance from Oscar Isaac. The detail in the costumes, the amazing backstory and depth of the characters, the amazingly interesting relationship between Mark and his alters. Truly an incredible experience.

Uncharted
(2022)

FUN.
It's very stereotypical Indiana Jones rip off with a big budget. Never played the game, but I enjoyed the action, comedy and suspense. Of course, Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg were a great pair of protagonists. The one thing that I don't like about triple-A blockbuster movies is I find that they sometimes prioritize the actors more than the story itself. However, in this case, they complemented the story rather than take it over! Would I recommend it? Absolutely, both action and story were very well implemented in the film.

KKN di Desa Penari
(2022)

FULL OF MORAL MESSAGES.
Full of moral messages. Even with a familiar story, 'KKN di Desa Penari' managed to visualize most of the viral stories that only stopped in the imagination of the readers. The acting of the cast, cinematography, and appropriate background music, can make up for some of the shortcomings.

365 Days: This Day
(2022)

NOTHING BUT SX SX AND SX.
Nothing but sx sx sx and sx. The plot started 30 minutes by the end of the movie. The entire movie is a massive cringe-fest, kept skipping through needless pop music montages, the dialogues are terrible, the writing is just so bad.

The Adam Project
(2022)

IT WAS OK.
It's ok, the kid that plays a young Ryan Reynolds character does an excellent job of capturing Reynolds's sarcastic personality. Could have used more back story about the main character in his timeline. Without it the story gets murky and has no anchor.
