Definitely an entertaining and enjoyable/light-hearted family film with a respectable cast and their top notch acting. However, it's bland and predictable and probably disappoints for a more mature audiences with its unnecessary love story and blatant social propaganda.
Good suspense and story of survival. The problem with cat and mouse plot is that the schtick ends up getting old pretty quick. There are no real surprises here. What u think will happen based on the plot summary or trailer is exactly what happens.
"You are lab rats. We are lab rats". A real eye opener. Easily one of the most important movies of modern times. A documentary that people need to see, a call to action and a cautionary tale about what is happening and how we just don't want to accept or decided no to care about.
P.s. side effects may include you wanting to delete your ig or fb. Hehe.
Low budget, quality cinema with a perfectly paced, modest plot. A truly unique experience. There is something incredibly realistic about this film's portrayal of revenge that makes it all feel authentic because it is such a small-scale production.
Another disappointment of the year. Not as eventful and thrilling as I had hoped for it to be. Unnecessary plot twist. It had so much potential to be its own unique horror story, but in the end, it flaunted itself to be bland.
An incredible experience of a man falling down through society. It's like two movies in one, a black comedy but then turned into a social commentary depressing drama. It's extreme but also relatable in one way or another. Breaks down and blurs lines between good and bad.
Slow burn in the beginning but it all comes full circle in the end. Tom Holland deserved so much praise, also other casts.. amazing. The narration was perfect. It filled it details but wasn't distracting. Great psycho-thriller!
Wild! That's the first word that came to my mind after watching this movie. The psychedelic was well-presented through the visual composition and lighting, feel a bit experimental for me, but overall great visual presentation and whole new cinema experience.
I've seen this movie because of its controversy, wanted to see if it's really as shocking as everyone says. I don't know, maybe I grew up in Indonesia's culture, so it's so provocative for me. Good coming of age story, but no matter the "message" of a story, for sexualizing children (even in acting) is wrong, but it's 2020 after all.
Brutal Violence! I think most people can't handle the graphic and emotional brutality. It did made me nauseous because of the disturbing sound and score, and the shaky camera and angles. That rage and revenge from the first scenes and the empathy to Alex' at the end, it's a new experience and quite memorable.
Another disappointment of the year. Pros: beautiful cinematohraphy, gorgeous images, great soundtrack. Cons: pacing is terrible, lack of character development, random and unexplained character motives, ridiculous amount of cuts in action sequences. It didn't feel as epic as it deserves to be.
I was kinda disappointed that this film didn't quite live up to the hype. It's not great, but it's not the worst either. Almost as soulless as its zombies. It's more like an action film with zombies in it. I hate the "fast and furious" formula. Good film, but the first one was better with more simplicity.
Probably one of the greatest sports movie of all time because of the brilliant performances and great direction. If it's goal was to make me hate the characters, then congratulations, scorsese, you've succeded.
The 3 stars is only for the incredible Agatha Christie plot. The cast is largely uncharismatic, Kenneth Branagh does not make a suitable Poirot. This makes only for restricted lockdown viewing. A murder mystery on a better canvas is Knives Out, sorry.
Top class acting by Irfan Khan. So thrilling and disturbing. Great investigative drama and conspiracy thriller. The pacing is intense, the treatment of plot with 3 different investigations makes for an interesting retelling. Most shocking part of the movie was hpw things ended.
