A student who is a loner one finds out that one of his classmates Sakura Yamaguchi is suffering from a diseases which can lead to her death. Sakura tells the classmate about her illness and all she wants to do is spend all remaining she has with him.
This is a very emotional which I can gurandy anyone could cry when watching.
I wholeheartedly love this movie from the story, to the plot twist, to the animation and the voice acting.
The english dub was excellent please don't listen to the dub hating troll/morons if there are any in the reviews.
I recommend this movie to anyone. Even if you aren't into anime or romance.
A cute girl called Miyo Sasaki is in love with her classmate Kento Hinode and wants to know everything about. She is given this mask be this fat looking cat who is also a mask the sells mask to people who want to be cats and cats who want to be people.
I thought this is a very cute film on Netflix to watch especially if you want something emotional yet romanitc at the same time.
The story has a very interesting concept. And the character designs were also cute.
This movie is available on netflix both dubbed and subbed.
Flag (copied a part from someone's existing review)
With Flag, the basic artwork is for grownups. Not a triangle mouth or Keane painting set of eyes to be found. Beyond that, the 100% camera, photographic print and web cam viewpoint, with selective focus and hand held movement, is groundbreaking, done to perfection and generally brilliant. The music employed is moving and appropriate, and also very grown up.
The narrative content is WAY past anything I have ever seen in Anime. Serious drama, intelligently portrayed. The major themes encompass pretty much everything that is actually important to the life of human beings. I can't recount very many narrative films that covered this much serious ground. The web of life, death, religion, politics, war, ethics, bravery, power, nature, faith, love and the big picture is all woven convincingly into a really first rate film experience. It is very compact for a serially presented film, having been envisioned from the beginning as a limited series. While there is much action, it is presented realistically. No animated recycled Power Rangers rip-offs here.
Kids' stuff is fine, but fantasy has its limitations as a story telling medium. This is much deeper and ultimately more rewarding and satisfying. Anime has been giving us The Three Stooges and Star Wars. Now I realize it could also give us Wild Strawberries, Pather Panchali and Cross Of Iron.
The details are outstanding. Just one example, I had no idea that the camera at the end of the credits in each episode was setting up for the final resolution.
In the literature 4 students including Oreki, Satoshi, Mayuka and the curious Eru all investigate mysteries about and behind the school. In the most extraordinary and exciting way and by also learning a bit of history behind them.
While this did take a while for me to watch (with everything that has been going on for the past 9 months) but in the end I am glad I finished it.
In my opinion it is one of those animes you need to have a lot of patience with to fully enjoy. As it does have a pace which is quite slow but eventually comes to a satisfying conclusion.
The animation and art style from Kyouta animation is excellent.
In the lost holy land of Milos, the Elrics search for the truth behind an unknown form of alchemy. What secrets are hidden in Milos? Riddles must be solved and dangers faced before the truth can be found.
I am not really when does the story take place but if you enjoyed brotherhood you might enjoy this movie.
The plot is pretty much the same as last time. For those who didn't read my review from last of the original series. I'll give a brief refresher for what the series is about.
After their father Van Holnhian left his family, his wife Trisha suddenly catches an illness causing her to die. Leaving her two sons Edward and his younger brother Alphonse to look after themselves. The both go to an alchemy teacher to use knowledge as an attempt to bring back their mom. But at a terrible price. Alphonse loses his entire body and is forced have his sole inside an armour and Edward lost both his arms and legs. They now have to find a way to get their bodies back. Now they are member of the military. Little do they know there is a lot of corruption and it's secrets.
For those of you who are probably wondering. Yes I do find this a lot better then the original series. That isn't to say the original show wasn't bad I just personally find this series to be a lot more accurate to the Manga then the original.
The newer and up to date animation from bones is a good example of how fair the series has came.
The dub cast include Vic Mignoga as Edward Elric did an amazing job as the protagonist himself (Shame on you Funimation for ruining his life). Alongside Caitlin Glass as the beautiful Winary Rochbell and Maxey Whitehead as Alphonse even though I was upset his previous actor didn't come back as he hit before recording but Maxey was an excellent replacement. Everyone else include Todd Haberkorn, Troy Baker, Kenny Green, Trina Nishimura, J. Michael Tatum, Ed Bladlock (RIP), Jerry Russel (RIP), Travis Willingram, John Swasey, Tia Ballard, Barry Yandal, Bob Carter, Stephanie Young and others all did a fantastic job. Please don't listen to the pathic dub hating trolls slandering the dub or KickVic SJW's in the reviews.
Also I really love the sound tracks for both the ending and the intro.
If you are a fan of the original and wasn't that satisfied about please check out this series.
I am only going to say this now if you don't want to be spoiled get out of my review right now. As this is one of those animes which is very hard not to spoil when explaining the plot.
After Thorfinn decided to secret join his dad Thors on his quest. During a battle a pirate that goes by the name Askalad kills Thors in a fight. Thorfinn, his son then goes on a quest to train and get his revenge on Askalad. After, a failed attempt at killing him due to unforeseen event they team up but only on one condition that Thorfinn gets to duel Askalad.
The anime has a really cool plot. The fight scenes which were probably the biggest highlight of the entire series were awesome. The unique are style was also very nice.
The dub was good though I do wish Askalad's voice wasn't very pitch and they used british accents considering what the setting is.
Three years ago I watch this anime's spinoff series called Fuuka without having any knowledge about what where that series was based on.
Now that I have watched Suzuka here goes nothing.
So this anime is about a boy called Yamato who came from a rural country to live in Tokyo to study. He meets some blue short haired girl called asahina who he finds attractive and decides to join the tract time to get close to her. But when he reunites with his childhood friend Honaka things get very complicated.
The story itself is okay, just like with Fuuka it has some good moments and really good animation. But I didn't really like the main guy or the main girl. The guy is an idiot and the girl comes accross as selfish and rude to me.
An artifact known as the "King's Seal" is stolen during transport from the Soul Society by an unidentified Soul Reaper and two Arrancar resembling girls who control fire and lightning. During the attack, Toshiro Hitsugaya corners and seems to recognize the Soul Reaper, who immediately stabs him in the stomach. In the middle of battle, Hitsugaya abandons his post to pursue him and leaves his squad behind to fend for themselves. After the battle, The Soul Society suspects Hitsuguya of treason and orders his immediate capture. The whole 10th Squad is then put on house arrest at which time they can surmise whether or not the division should be abolished. With the whole of Soul Society looking for Hitsugaya, Ichigo as a soul reaper on patrol accidentally stumbles upon Squad 2 Captain Soifon while she is conducting an investigation of the transport site. Soifon informs him of the events happening in the Soul Society and dispels the kido surrounding them. As Soifon disappears with her crew, Toshiro makes his presence known and passes out in front of Ichigo and Uryu. Awakening in the Kurosaki residence, Toshiro refuses to explain what's happening. In the midst of their discussion, Ichigo is attacked by the two arrancar before he can force the issue more. Toshiro escapes, continues to avoid capture. However, things only get worse when the Soul Reaper thief, identified as Former Soul Reaper Sojiro Kusaka also uses Hyorinmaru, a sword identical to Hitsugaya's, to injure Shunsui Kyoraku. Toshiro's capture is then made top priority and his execution is approved.
This movie focuses more on Toshiro Hitsugai and how was his past like before he became a soul reaper. Which it does a good job with.
The fight scene between Toshiro and Sojiro was nothing more then mind blowing.
In Karakura Town, unidentifiable spirits begin appearing en mases. While attempting to deal with these strange souls, Ichigo Kurosaki and Rukia Kuchiki meet Senna, a mysterious shinigami who wipes out most of them. Senna refuses to answer any questions, so Ichigo is forced to follow her while Rukia tries to find out what's going on.
I really enjoued this movie a lot it was very heartful especially Ichigo and Senna bond they had. The fight scene was also awesome.
Having grown up ridiculed for his bizarre name, Nasa Yuzaki strives to be remembered for something more. Fortunately, it seems he's on the right path, ranking first in the nation's mock exams and set to enter his high school of choice. However, everything changes in a single night when he notices a girl across the street on his way home. Enraptured by her overwhelming cuteness, it's love at first sight for Nasa. But in his infatuated daze, he fails to notice the approaching danger speeding down the road and finds himself at death's door. Barely alive thanks to the girl's intervention, Nasa musters the courage to confess his love to her, fearing she might otherwise vanish from his life. She accepts his proposal on one condition: marriage, to which Nasa gladly accepts before passing out from his injuries. Upon waking, however, the girl is nowhere to be found. After recovering from his injuries, Nasa tosses his previous ambitions aside and dedicates his life to finding the girl that captured his heart, yet several years pass to no avail. But one night, when an unexpected visitor comes knocking on his door, Nasa finds himself facing a woman that would forever change his world: his wife.
I really enjoyed what this anime had to offer. I thought the concept of an anime that focus on a married couple life, while normally this kind of concept would come across as boring to me but this series actually did a good job keeping me interested in how Nasa and Tsukasa's relationship would develop as the series went a long.
The art style and animation given it's by the same creators of Hayate the combat butler (fans of the series wouldn'r be disappointed :) was really good.
Tomozaki is the most highest rated gamer in japan. However, he is not a very out going or people kind of person. He takes lesson from one of his attractive classmates Aoi Hinami on how to become a better person by assigning him task and relating them to obstacles in a game.
The anime is very fun and relaxing to watch as romcom. It explores the diffrence between how someone can be shown when they are behind a screen to when they are in the real world.
A fresh new retell of the Fate series from the 2006 series
To answer your question no you don't need to watch the old studio dean series to understand this as this is a brand new reboot completely. However, if you would like you can watch it to compare it with this series.
Just like the original series 5 magians are choicen to fight in the holy grail in a battle to the death to see who wins the grail and they all have master including Archer, Caster, Gligamesh, Berserker, Rider, Lancer and finally saber. After strange occurances of a hidden masters the beautiful thigh queen herself Rin Tosaka teams up with her classmate Shirou Emiya to search out this master.
As for my overall thought I really enjoyed this route of the Fate series. And I even better then the studio dean verse as I notice there was quite a few errors like their animation which I am thankful for.
The voice cast in the dub I will admit took some time getting used as a lot of these expect for Taiga, Rin, Lancer and Illya all had new voices. I think the only voice I didn't like all that much was Archer's but then again his previous voice actor was too mind blowing in that role.
Also, do check out Fate/Zero before diving into this series to get a better understanding of what previously happened.
Following the success in the Camelot Singularity, Ritsuka Fujimaru and Mash Kyrielight are assigned to the last Singularity. In Ancient Mesopotamia, B. C. 2655, they embark on a mission to secure humanity's survival. Upon arrival, they learn about the three Goddesses that threaten Uruk, the Babylonian city ruled by King Gilgamesh. Ritsuka and Mash will now need to find a way to severe the alliance between the three Goddesses and stop the blood-thirsty beasts that threaten the future of the humanity.
To be honest while it is different from it predecessors I still thoroughly enjoyed. Though I do wish we knew a bit more about how Ritsaka became a master then just a guy asleep in the hallway and found by a cute girl.
Though aside from that I do like his character and his chemistry with his servant Mash. Which I am thankful that their hidden feelings for each other aren't forced like how Fate Stay/Night (2006) did with Shirou and Saber.
I am not exactly sure what timeline it is set in though it's likely own thing.
Also another problem I do feel this series did have was the fact that we only got to see the main characters meet the other masters through flashbacks so, I do kind of feel they should have handled that a bit better.
Aside from that it's a really good fate series if not my favourite.
Yukishiro Nanako is a cute, cheerful high school girl with one peculiar trait - instead of verbal communication, she writes senryu (a type of haiku) poems to relay her thoughts. Together with ex-delinquent Busujima Eiji, they are budding freshmen of the school's Literature Club. Even though Nanako doesn't talk, with the power of senryu, the adorable pair has no problem enjoying their fun school-life through the tune of 5-7-5 syllables.
While there isn't much plot to the story. But it's still fun, relaxing and very wholesome to watch.
This a spinoff series to soul eater. Which is about a girl called Tsugami Harudori who after discovers her ability to transform into a weapon she enrols into the DWMA. Due to her ability, she is put into the NOT class and must choose between Anya and Meme as her partner.
While I can see what this series is going but honestly, this isn't really something fans wanted to see after 5 years since the series ended. The concept of this series is interesting but the exclusion was very poor.
While I get they wanted to focus more on the NOT part of the manga but honestly, it wasn't really as we don't really see any of our favourite characters in the anime, they are there but they are rarely appearing, while I get it's set a year before Soul Eater however, the story just focus on characters that aren't even relevant in the actual.
Also the series kinda changed it's tone from a magical adventure to some slice of life series which nobody really wants. Tsugami isn't really a bad character, maybe if the original series would have continued she probably would have been introduced and they would have gone from there. While I get the show wanted to focus more on her, anya and maya, and while I do admit some of the other new additions such as Clay and Akane. However, I am pretty sure fans wanted to see Maka, Soul and the others after so many years of waiting not them.
I will say though that the newer animation was decent.
Within a school known as the DWMA which made to teach students, or should I say weapons and misters who have special abilities to transform into weapons. The story resolves around 3 duos Maka (and her weapon soul), Black Star (and his partner tsubaki) and Lord Death's son himself Death the kid (and his weapons the Thompson sisters). They all of a task of collecting 99 souls of Keishens and 1 which so they can get the ranking of a death scythe. However, forces from outside of the academy cause more problems for our trios as this is causing trouble around the world.
I really enjoyed watch this series and the premise it had to offer. While it took me nearly three years to finish it due to my busy schedule around the time, but it was all worth it. While I do agree the ending probably was rush as it is missing some elements from the manga, but I still enjoyed it.
It really unique animation which almost resembles to western cartoons that aired on TV around the time when this aired. The art style also has a good flow with the character designs.
The intros are really welcoming whenever I start an episode and the endings is also excellent. My personal favourites are the second intro and ending.
The dub is excellent with a stellar casting including Laura Bailey, Micah Solousod, Chuck Huber, Vic Mignonga, John Swasey, Kent Williams, Maxey Whitehead, Jamie Marchi, Chermai Leigh, Todd Haberkorn, Monica Rial and many others. The only voice I didn't really like was Black Star who sounded very forced and a bit feminine as well as ear grating. Please don't listen to any dub haters if they are any in the reviews, those people just love to ruin anime for others.
Grotesque monsters known as Impurities reside in Magano, a realm parallel to the present day. Exorcists purify these evil apparitions to protect the people. Rokuro Enmado is opposed to becoming an exorcist, even though he has the talent to be one, but an oracle gives him the title of "Twin Star Exorcist," the name bestowed upon married exorcists. Benio Adashino, the girl who receives the title along with Rokuro, is determined to exorcise all the Kegare, or Impurities, in the world. The two find themselves wrapped up in more and more battles together as the Twin Star Exorcists.
It took me around a year but I managed to finish watching it yesterday. In my opinion it is a decent anime adaption with pretty stellar animation with really good character design, some killer sound track and a good quality dub.
After a virus spreaded all over the world Yuichiro and his friend Miklea and their family from the orphanage they grew up in get captured by the vampire. They take them and the other children somewhere they aren't affected by the virus, but are forced to do do work in an undertown like coal mine. After a failed attempt at failing and the devastating lose of his family Yuichiro flees up to the surface there he meets the vampire extermination unit a team that is lead by Guren there he bows to eliminate every vampire. Along the way he meets various alias including a cute yet spunky girl Shinoa, the level headed Shiho, the timid Yuichi and.the annyoing (just kidding) Mitsuba. Little does he know the vampire had other plans for Miklea. Will they ever meet again?
Honestly, even with the series ending on a clifhanger I really enjoyed this anime. While it can be tiresome but I still enjoyed it overall.
It has cool animation, a pretty steller dub and sub voice cast and a really good soundtrack.
Episodes dubbed and subbed are available on netflix.
Waking up in a strange virtual world with no recollection of the past, Hakuno finds himself forced to fight for survival in a war he does not understand for a prize beyond value; the opportunity to have one's wish granted. With only an enigmatic "Servant" by his side, Hakuno Kishinami will have to face both friends and foes in battles to the death in order to not only gain possession of a mysterious object known as the "Holy Grail," but also to find the answer to the most important question of all: "Who am I?"
Noel Niihashi and Ninny Spangcole are witch and protection agents for Wing Bind an organization for dragon conservation and management. Their mission is to protect and manage the dragons within London on behalf of the people.
I thought this was a really good spin off series which is set in the same universe as bleach. The characters are refreshing, the story is refreshing and it was just top notch.
As this is only a spin off I don't think you need to watch bleach to under although I am not sure when does it take place in series.
Still though I would recommend checking this out even if you aren't into bleach.
(warning: this review may contain lots of spoilers and I mean a lot so if don't want to be spoiled please click off my review)
Seen as there hasn't been a single review for the past 17 years now (no kidding), I guess I'll add my thoughts towards the series. Since there only seems to be one review here which I might touch on.
Haru Glory a teenage boy is on a quest to find the rave and is in search of his missing. He leaves his town alongside his travel companion Plue. He later meets a Elie a cute and beautiful young woman who has been suffer from amnisa and wants to learn more about her past so she accompanies Haru on his quest to find the rave.
Hiro Mashima did an excellent job with the series and it's characters. Though the only problem is the series ended at a cliff-hanger which leaves a lot of questions unanswered. Like will Haru ever collect the rave stones? What are Siegharts intentions for helping Haru and his team? And what are the Lucia planning with the rest of the six? Also will we ever get an uncut dub with at least some of the current voice cast????
But overall, I still enjoyed watching series the character and the villains were all well written. The only character I probably didn't like were the three bandits in the rubber suits. The episodes with them in them were probably the worst the entire series.
I also thought the animation by studio deen was very well done.
Now I will touch on a few point from the only review by Silversword1 from 2004.
I will first point out that even though I get where you are coming from but Writing Your Review Like This isn't going to get the full point across.
"Selection Of Voice Actors No Voice Fits Any Character" I will say you are half right but I am going to counter this point by saying that it's not that none of the actors fit it's that the series has really bad voice direction to the point where the actor aren't getting to show their potential. I mean they had freaking the voice of Spongebob aka Tom Kenny and my VA the voice actor Yuri Lowenthal the voice of Ben Tennyson which is the eye candy in the dub and I'll admit there actually was a few characters like a the members of the orasian 6 i.e Reina, Haja, Julias and Berial, Shuda, Lucia, Gale, King, a few of the guardians and Hedara had the best voices in the dub. With Haru voice just gradually getting better. I do wish though Sieghart had a different actor from Shuda as I thought Crispin Freeman sounded too similar his more intimidating scenes didn't sound very intimidating. Mean while Michelle Ruff did well in elie's emotional breakdown scenes but she was over the top in her more tigger happy scenes.
A lot of the editing such as gun shots being changed to lesser shots, suggestive scenes being toned down as well as having a flashbacks cut does also deuterates the experience from the watcher. Not to mention (although I am not heavily effected by it) but whole soundtrack change kind of was inferior the Japanese track although the power of destiny actually was catchy.
However, on the plus there aren't any episodes missing as it looks like all 51 episodes but I would still recommend to watch the Japanese subtitled version over it as there is unfortunately no uncut dub and the chances for one currently are very slim with the series being out of print. Hopefully though some day if this series gets a reboot or another season (the chances for that are also slim) we might finally get the true rave master experience.
If you enjoy fairy tail, Seven deadly sins, Magi and Eden Zero I do recommend this anime.
