Bad Match
(2017)

Not for me
The Tinder Era has begun, which makes life way more easy for playboys like Harris (I think that was the name). Harris just wants to have a nightstand with pretty much all the girls who are willing to accept him in their beds. Unfortunately for our playboy, one girl wants more than what he has to offer and that seems to destroy his perfect life.

First of all, I did not like this movie at all. Why not? the acting was awful, the only decent performance was from Lili Simmons (Riley).

The characters weren't deep enough, I don't remember any names except for Riley and Harris, although I'm not even sure about the latter.

The plot was really weak, and the climax (last minutes) was a joke. I think this would work as a comedy though.

Definitely not for me or for those who like thrillers or suspense.

Temple
(2017)

There are better films for you to waste your time watching
Three American tourists (that create a love triangle) decide to visit a temple located at the forest of a small Japanese village, because one of the tourists (Kate) is studying religion and its traditions.

All well, seems like a decent plot and overall the acting (especially from the Japanese actors) is quite good. Except for the actress who played Kate, her acting skills need to improve... a lot.

Well-shot, with a good scenery of Japanese rural landscape.

Unfortunately the plot is very weak, there's no tension and the last 10 minutes seem rushed and quite confusing.

Could've been a good one but it was a waste of my time.

Grave
(2016)

It amazes me how a film like this has such a high rating
Raw or Grave (original title) is a French horror film about cannibalism. This is not the first time I'm drawn to French films of this genre, for instance Martyrs and High Tension are only a few I could mention that are definitely worth a watch.

Unfortunately Raw doesn't deliver. It tried to be disgusting and I guess it is but shock value doesn't really work if you don't have a decent plot/story-line.

During the film it is noticeable it tried to be edgy and over the top but it fails miserably. It's just a bunch of nonsense with an awful soundtrack in the mix.

For instance in one scene the sister of the main character (forgot the name) jumps in front of a car, killing the passengers and proceeds to eat them. Luckily no more cars pass by while she was feeding herself and luckily in France the police is nonexistent which explain why she can kill so many people without any suspicion whatsoever.

I could go on and on.

In conclusion if you like annoying music, young adults trying to be edgy and people biting each other because it's lunch time, then this is for you.

What Happened to Monday
(2017)

Could've been a really good film...but it isn't.
I really like the premise of this film: In order to stop overpopulation the government decides to create an only child policy. Very much like in China, but in this case they put the children to sleep. In this cruel world a set of identical septuplets is born and somehow manages to live until their 30's.

Well, I always enjoyed Rapace's acting skills, but I have to say her skills are completely wasted here since her performance in my opinion is a disaster.

Dafoe and Close are very forgettable, mainly due to the script they were given.

The action parts are okay, but overall the film is full of clichés and doesn't make us care about any character at all. "Hey one sibling died" "Ah it's okay there's 6 more with different hair styles".

Very disappointing, I wouldn't recommend at all if you like sci-fi with a deeper plot and character development.

3/10

It Comes at Night
(2017)

What comes at night?
I must confess I was expecting way more of this "horror" film.

It started off quite well (hence the 4 rating) but after the first 30 minutes went downhill. No questions were answered, you are left with a large list of plot holes and an ending that couldn't be more predictable and boring.

Don't get me wrong, it isn't the worst "horror" film I ever saw but is avoidable especially if you like HORROR.

I'm still waiting for what comes at night.
