Slumberland
(2022)

An insight to how your dreams affect your reality
Truly a piece of art.

There are so many negative reviews and I'm seriously wondering who these philistines are???

Highly recommended to this movie for anyone over 10 years old, as some of the nuances need a little more maturity.

Other than that, I can safely say I had a great time watching it, as like with any onion, layers keep being peeled away as the movie progresses and there is never a boring moment in this masterpiece.

So tag along for the ride and it will be a roller coaster , not only visually, but also emotionally too. It brings you up, down, turns you all around.

So enjoy!

Death Count is a great name for a mindless movie
Watched the first 10 minutes and this doesn't even cut it for a B horror movie. Acting was lame, effects were cheap, etc etc.

Can't say enough bad things about the whole storyline.

Who wrote the script??? A fifth grader could do a better job.

Meanwhile, please steer clear and save yourself the agony and use the time to watch more interesting gore like The Babysitter.

How to Please a Woman
(2022)

Who's really writing the reviews??
Honestly, I could break a smile!

All the previous reviews are either from friends, family, or the production crew itself.

Ridiculous to rate this a 10 out of 10.

Acting was mediocre and rather flat.

Too affected and.cajoled.

Moonfall

Don't believe all the reviews you read
Honestly, this was an action packed, nail biter of a scifi flick. Period!

Yes, the physics and realism are out the door, but then again, so was Armageddon, with Bruce and Ben to buffer the action on that one.

Take it for what it is. A fun-filled, tongue in cheek action sci-fi, slightly comedic film and you can break out the popcorn for a fun evening at the movies.

Please enjoy. The rating should be a lot higher, but there are just these wannabe film critics that are doing their best to cut a good movie down.

Shame on them.

Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard
(2021)

The Howcan's Why's BadlyMade
My subject title says it all.

Look, I like a profanity, a little bit of gunfu and whole lotta laughs.

This however, was none of the above. There was a lot of shooting, but nothing that comes close to John Wick, or Hardboiled.

How and why was this movie made and the contrast between the first installment and the sequel is so glaring that it is not even funny, please excuse the pun. Actually, not sorry about the pun fun.

Please save yourself 100 minutes of your time and watch The Contractor which is actually a better (not by much) movie than this.

It seems to me that Hollywood really just wants to milk the sequel out of the first movie, as they did not realize the first one was really that good.

Not following
Disjointed, the plot thickens at the beginning, then is lost at the end. Acting is mediocre at best and it's time for some serious expense to be used for the camera work. All in, watchable, but only if you feel like a "follower". Nuff said, DK out.

8 Winds
(2021)

Disjointed and Disappointing
The acting is stilted, the actors are stiff and the storyline is starved of creativity that this movie is hopelessly lost in its own struggles.

Giving this movie a 1 star rating is generous.

The Adam Project
(2022)

Sadly, another old time travel movie with a new look
Understandably, Ryan Reynolds is totally milking his character with Deadpool pretty much dry.

Fast talking, speed walking, fight acrobating usual run-of-the-mill SYFY movie that is fairly entertaining with a few big names for the main draw.... but really lacking originality that should have us on the edge of our seats.

I know the rating may be a bit low, but it was just another mindless, and kinda mind numbing 2 plus hours of usual Netflix churn and burn.

The Housemaid
(2021)

Typical Skin B movie
It's all about seeing skin and not very much about thrilling the audience. Probably deserves a 3, but am feeling harsh today. Good luck and hopefully some will find joy in a pointless movie about a time immemorial plot that has been overused.

Safe Room
(2022)

Unsafe Waste of Space
Pretty much do not waste your time, or money watching this. I'm not sure how they managed to find investors to bank roll this absolute waste of digitized celluloid. Terrible.

Prisoner of Love
(2022)

Trapped by this Trashy Movie
Acting is bad, sets look cheap. Not sure who gave the 8 rating, but truthfully, save your bandwidth and do not waste your time on a movie like this. I spent 15 minutes in and gave up.

Dune
(2021)

Should've stayed in the sand
Yes, it is a grandiose movie that lasted way too long building the characters. It is 147 minutes long with no end in sight and drags on and on with great music and great scenes of landscapes made out of pure CGI. Not sure why the rating is so high, but guess this sort of movie appeals to people who want to see some Oscars in the bag, instead of entertaining the viewer and keeping the action sequences flowing. The 1984 version was so much better, and if it had the CGI that is capable now, would make this version pale by comparison. Sadly, this is what the current audiences seem to want. Dave out!

Cosmic Sin
(2021)

Comic Sin, sad but true. Watch at your own risk
Not gonna beat around the bush. Love Bruce Willis, but this move is absolutely bad, with respect to the lack of:

1. Acting, nearly non-existent 2. Content, the story line is seriously poor 3. Imagination, check 2 above 4. Props and costumes and CGI, all bad

I should pretty much give this a 2, but I do love Bruce, especially in the SNL skit Boy Dance Party.... the Alien in that looks scarier than the ones in this move... SIGH!

Morning Glory
(2010)

Gathers momentum and sucks you in
It may not be an action flick, but it does engage you in a manner that you're just waiting for the next explosive moment... In a nutshell:

1.Provocative 2. Stimulating 3. Exciting even 4. Sexy 5. Inspirational 6. Thoroughly amusing 7. Addresses real life issues 8. Teaches old dogs new tricks

I can keep going, but it's better you watch for yourself.

YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED, period!

Have a good one, folks.

The Babysitter
(2017)

Totally under-rated
In a nutshell, the following: 1. Builds the suspense well 2. When the fun starts, its unrelenting, fast paced and actually thought provoking (except for the shirtless guy) 3. What a great ending, with the last line uttered like it was something out of an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie

Totally cool and worth the watch. Just don't be squeamish as it gets really gross at points, hehe.

WATCH IT NOW TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT!

Pennyworth
(2019)

Great series
Pennyworth has the perfect amount of cloak&dagger, violence, romance, etc.....

Can't say anything better to top the above.... just great TV... hopefully DC will make it a movie... smashing stuff!!!

Plus One
(2019)

Better than Long Shot 2019??
Yeah, I think so.... Seth Rogen step back coz Jack Quaid is way cooler.... Even cooler than his Dad.

Meanwhile, back in Metropolis, Quaid and Erskine have great chemistry and the weddings they go to are the usual typical events that happen to singles at these functions....

So enjoy the ride coz it does get bumpy... but stick with it... coz it does have a lot of great moments.

Terminator Genisys
(2015)

Salvation with the wrong name... And relax people, it's Terminator movie, enjoy!!!
Just a quick few lines that will give you a flavor for Genisys:

1. Thank goodness it was the salvation for T4 Salvation

2. Totally under-rated. Arnold with his one-liners IS BAAACK

3. There are some serious clowns who have rated the this in the sub-5 region

4. Even if you are not a fan of the Terminator movies, do not pass up this opportunity for some Mountain Dew, Newman's Own Popcorn home entertainment time

Captain Marvel
(2019)

Better on the second viewing
Short and sweet.

Brie Larson just does not cut it like Gal Gadot!

The director, producers, executive producers could have done so much more with the character.

All-in, I was disappointed, but decided to waste another $10 for a second shot at the movie.

Came away with a little less disgust.

Wonder Woman
(2017)

Outstanding
A short and sweet review in bullet points:

* Casting - Every part and every role was perfect for each character and actor * Gal Gadot - makes Brie Larson look like a village girl * Special Effects - Spot on * Chris Pine - Perfect for his part, plus he makes Gal Gadot look even better * Storyline - Kick Ass and the names were all taken * Directing - Patty Jenkins took WW and made her Wondrous Woman * All-in - Buy the DVDR! You will not regret your decision

Later gators,

Oily Boyee out

Serenity
(2005)

In the verse, Serenity is Queen
A big thank you to Universal Pictures to bring this series to the big screen.

Just a little suggestion; please watch the series first. It will give greater depth to the movie.

However, the movie is a great stand-alone anyway.

Watch it. Universal took off where a fox hid in its den.

Rather sad how some film companies get it right and others just get it so wrong.

Enjoy!!!!

Firefly
(2002)

Inexplicable Decision
I have watched the series and the movies at least 5 times over and can still find parts that baffled me at first, but slowly (I am not that bright) came to light!

It is mystifying and perplexing that executives at Fox felt compelled to cancel the series.

This series was one of the best to air since before the millennium. So placing political intentions aside, is it not the financial incentive that drives most decisions? Especially in the TV and Movie industry where money talks, and BS walks?

Hit series with a zero percent for more. How diabolical does that sound?

Think of the masses, who have consistently graded this series an 8.5, or better.

My two cents worth has been uttered.

Hope the current executives at Fox have the sense to actually engage the brain and bring this series back!

Knight and Day
(2010)

Totally Rewatchable
1. It has Tom Cruise 2. Even better with Cameron Diaz 3. Non-stop action from the get-go 4. Great comedic lines and acting thrown in

What is there not to like??? Great movie. Deserves better than a 6.3 average

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
(2013)

Creative and Clarifying
Just a few quick points:

  • The movie begins slow, but gathers momentum and becomes a massive snowball at the end

  • All the actors, small parts and big parts, play their roles to perfection

  • The director (Ben Stiller of course) does a great job with the pace

  • The cinematographer is par excellence

  • This movie must be watched at least twice to fully appreciate the work put into it (caveat: after first viewing, give it another 6 months before the second viewing)

All in, a great movie about living life, instead of watching it.

Peace be with you. You will find some in the 2 hours watching Walter Mitty.

Garden State
(2004)

Good job Zach
The only thing that is amiss with this movie is the pacing, but I guess it was part of tone and setting the movie needed.

A touching romantic escapade for Portman and Braff. Refreshingly candid with a hitn of irony and even cynicism.

All in a great effort and the chemistry between the two leads is tangible.
