Death in Paradise: Episode #13.4
(2024)
Episode 4, Season 13

Is this the same 'Death In Paradise'
I don't know about you but, to me, this show has dramatically changed since DI Parker has come into the show... The writers seem to miss the spot so many times..1st, for this episode 5 series 13 How come no-one asked where all the money came from, and the talent for building the mega computer, let alone the knowledge to build this super computer??? Why did the writers miss out all of this. Ellis had been on the Island only 3 months..

Ellis (the dead fience) was supposedly a grifter type, a broken individual that arrived broke. Yet, after just three months, developed a super analytical skill (Laurette the poor orphan included) to find thousands and thousands of dollars to build this (soo professional) computer, to steal electricity from the islands grid and no one noticed the cables or the surge of energy used, or questioed where all this moneycame fromto build it? This is ludicrous!! Where are the great storylines and characters that there once was? This show needs shaking up tremendously. I used to love Darleens character, but she has changed into someone unrecognisable. All of that spark has gone, and she has become lethargic. No way would the old Darleen have comforted a no good blackmailing liar like Laurette, and vouch for her character having only known her as a small child, it's ridiculous that her DCI didn't have a sit down talk with her previously, and inform her of her duty as a police officer.. The whole set-up of this episode was bad writers, and lack of research. The whole series has gone down the tubes.. The show Definitely needs either a revamp, or, a completely new casting.. Bring back some of the old faces like Jack Mooney, Dwain, JP, and Florence. Kris Marshall would be fantastic!!! This new cast are not up to par, sorry..! It was predictable and not entertaining at all.

I have watched all thirteen series, and these last few series with Ralf Little are thee most unconvincing and lack authenticity and originality...! Needs to be recast..

Echo of Diana
(1963)

'An Enjoyable 60s B-Flick'
'Echo of Diana' is one of those British B-Movies that does exactly what one expects... Entertains, with mystery and suspense.. Typically cast with those 50s-60s b list actors, that deliver to the best of their talent... Actress Betty Mcdowell, is a dead ringer for the actress Jane Griffiths... I completely get them mixed up, they're almost like twin sisters..... Dermot Walsh pops up towards the end...

I recommend this enjoyable mystery on a Sunday afternoon:).

Having seen this 60s black & white crime drama quite a few times now, I find It' still enjoyable to watch whenever aired on 'Talking Tv'. Nostalgia eat your heart out.! British 50s/60s B-movie-crime genre, I recommend you watch them, as they're always entertaining with a great, (mostly underrated) cast. Having a large collection of this genre recorded now, Sunday afternoons seem to be mostly spent catching up viewing them all...:) Nostalgia & loving memories again come to mind... family, and my own upbringing in the 60s seem very close to my Mothers generation growing up during the war and experiencing the 50s as portrayed in these classic 50s-60s Classic British fashionable movies.. A hearty Memorable nod to our past...!

The Woman in Question
(1950)

'A Classic British-Who Done It'
A great cast and performance by some of Britain's best 50s-60s headliners, including Dirk Bogard and Susan Shaw. Hermione Baddely as usual, gave a great convincing performance..

An intriguing suspense murder mystery, with a dialogue that twists and turns, beginning with the discovery of a womans murder.. The narrative is then told to the police inspector individually, through the recollections of those acquainted closest to the victim (which there are many) I really enjoyed this style of whodunit murder mystery, as it gives the storyline so much more depth into each character, and creativity on different levels..

Jean Kents performance was exillerarating, authentic and believable.! I'm an avid fan of British B movies, especially the crime genre but, this is quite in a class of its own.!

I did however guess the killer (it was obvious) but for those never having seen this movie before, I recommend you take time to watch it. It'll keep you guessing until the end :) I have watched 'A Woman In Question' over the years numerous times and I still enjoy watching it whenever shown, immensely..!

They don't make them like they used to...!!!

Moment of Proof: Episode #3.15
(2023)
Episode 15, Season 3

'Informative Series' The Moment Of Proof'
A summarised version of 'Robbie Coltrane's' 'Crital Evidence'series..

A shorter version, not quite as exillerarating as that depiction, especially the narrative :( Still, I have really enjoyed the series.. I only discovered the 3rd series due to recording another crime series episode and, due to looking if there was a series link, discovered this series by checking on the similar programmes to watch.. I'm so glad that did.:)

I recommend that you watch this informative series, as there are two crime stories per-episode that have been committed in the UK and over the continent.. I would really love to watch both series one and two..!

Murder She Said
(1961)

"Dame Margaret Rutherford' Shines As 'Miss Marple'
'Murder She Said' Is An Interesting and fulfilling depiction of Agatha Christies'4.50 from Paddington' starring 'Dame Margaret Rutherford'. The 1st of four 'Agatha Christie' 'Miss Marple' stories starring Miss Rutherford, and a delightful and quite unexpected watch I must say..!

I really enjoyed this earlier version ''Murder She Said' and, I am looking forward to seeing the remaining three episodes.. I recommend if you have the opportunity to see any of these versions starring Miss Rutherford, then please, take the time to watch them; you will not be disappointed:) Also, a thumbs Up For Miss Marples side-kick Mr Springer, a delightful character...

Criminal Minds
(2005)

"Love, Love, Love This Series"
From the very 1st Episode of 'Criminal Minds' I was hooked, but, when they began to replace those great character actors like Shemar Moore, Mandy Patinkin and Thomas Gibson with less talented and uninspiring actors such as Adam Rodriguez?? Then; it was all over for me.!!! It just didn't gel like previous series.. Adam Rodriguez was definitely the wrong choice for this series. I find him quite static, stoic and paused.! Lift him up and place him into another drama, and you would be confused by which role he was playing, so-repetative Each role he plays seems to transfer to his next project, one dimensional comes to mind.. as are so many actors today.

Why oh why did they ruin this brilliant series :( I would rather watch the repeats.. Great Cameo by 'Forrest Whitaker' Love 'Paget Brewster as Emily though, fab' replacement to (Lola Glaudinis Emily... The 1st two series were a fantastic beginning to 'Criminal Minds' with Mandy Patinkin as 'Jason Gideon' truly missed :( When Gideon left at the end of series two, and was replaced by Joe Mantegna as Fbi agent Rossi, I wasn't impressed. For a while there was a totally different dynamic to the show, gradually I guess, he became part of the team. Hotch 'Thomas Gibson' stepped up, and became the great team leader he was meant to be, as did Morgan 'Shemar Moore' when he was needed the most.. Garcia, played by 'Kirsten Vangess' is a brilliant analyst and, she has a magnetic rapour with Morgan, (great writing).

I Miss the dynamics of the show, and the whole sense of family orientation:) Still watch all the re-runs :):):)

Mrs. 'Arris Goes to Paris
(1992)

"Angela's Magic Shines Through Again"
A Wonderfully Entertaining Film Of High Standards And Quality.. Magical..!

I love this movie so much, that I have watched it repeatedly over the years... Angela Lansbury is her usual Entertaining self, her character has such warmth, wit, tenacity and determination... The Main Cast includes Miss Dame Diana Rigg, Omar Shariff and the unquestionable Dame Angela Lansbury but a few.. I wouldn't want to spoil the illusion by revealing the movies synopsis but, it was a delight and an enjoyment to watch. Paris is ever so lovely, and, the beautiful Gowns on show are fabulous.

I recommend you watch it..!

Marple: Towards Zero
(2007)
Episode 3, Season 3

"An Excellent Episode Of The Marple Series"
Miss Marple Triumphs Again.!

This episode is not only an enjoyable watch but, quite the memorable one too..!.

The Cast are Spot-On... !

Neville Strange (played convingly by Greg Wise) is a very conspicuous and devious minded character. His second wife Kay, (played by Zoe Tapper) is a little dilutional with regards to the extent of Nevilles' manipulative nature or how cunning he can really be. She learns from him of his intentions to invite his ex wife Audrey, (played by the lovely Saffron Burrows) to his aunt Lady Camilla Tressillians' seaside villa at the same time they themselves would also be there. 'His devious plans are afoot'...!

Realising Nevilles intention to invite his ex wife Audrey to Lady Camillas villa after he had supposedly ran into Audrey the previous day, Kay becomes adjitated and extremely jealous at the thought of socialising with Audrey, the 1st Mrs Strange, as this was supposed to be a quiet getaway for them both, especially after the mature Neville recently having been defeated at Wimbledon (by Merrick, played by Greg Rudeski- special appearance). Neville continued to try and convince Kay that the two women could get along and even maybe become friends, much to Kays distain and discomfort..!!!

One amongst the eclectic group of people also invited to the villa is Miss Marple (Geraldine McEwan) whom is staying across from Gulls Point at Easterhead Bay hotel Balmoral Court where the invited guests are also residents. (except Audrey and the Stranges). Jane Marple is taking a sketching holiday (supposedly) and, is an old school friend of Lady Tressilian played well by (Eileen Atkins). Lady Tressilian is somewhat a little different to Marple, quite brutally forthcoming and extremely to the point.. One of the guests a regular visitor and well liked resident at 'Balmoral Court' is Freddie Treves, a retired solicitor played by (Tom Baker-Dr Who) who set the cat amongst the pigeons with quite a rhetorical story that he began by telling Miss Marple whilst in the drawing room. He begins the story about a boy murderer he had become acquainted with years earlier. During his story telling, the other guests that had also retired to the drawing room after dinner for a soirée overheard Freddies story and became intrigued and impatiently nauseating to learn more about this boy killer. It was obvious to them that after Freddie had finished his story, he'd definately recognised amongst them his little killer, hinting, that he bore a particular peculiarity...! This of course adds to the Mystery, and the demise of poor Freddie..!

Miss Marples' observation of all the guests and her ability to understand human behaviour and their nature, sets her sleuthing mind adrift.....!.

Ted Latimer also a guest at the hotel is played by Paul Nicolls whom has a reputation that precedes him as somewhat of a dego gigolo {description from Lady Camilla} and lothario ,very much attracted to Kay Strange.! (His character and performance however seemed to be the least convincing as the wealthy latin lover, totally miscast). It was as though he was playing a Northern character that had an awful orange tint of a tan and a confused accent.. He didn't quite cut-it..! Julian Sands however plays Audrey's old school friend and distant cousin Thomas Royde, also staying at Lady Camillas, has always cared very much for Audrey since growing up together as children, is a protective inspiration for her. His brother Adrian had recently died in a suspicious car crash locally and quite unexpectedly, was Fiencè to Audrey. The three children Thomas, Adrian and Audrey were childhood close friends until Neville Stretch came along and snatched Audrey from under their feet..

Before the commotion in the drawing room happened, all the guests had gathered to attend dinner, Kay suddenly changes focus due to excess drinking and becomes irratic and, her jealousy rises to a more facetious venom by the minute, attacking Audrey at every opportunity with veracity and distain. She then turns her attentions towards Tom suddenly becoming her target of humour, Kay asked Tom 'what happened to his arm'. Tom tried to explain that 'he'd had an accident as a child, jamming his arm in a doorway that left him a little lop-sided and disabled in one arm. Kay found this story quite amusing and pleasurable, hilariously laughing into her glass at him. The guests didn't take this amusingly and were disgusted by her actions. Neville however, secretly enjoyed every moment of it.. Julie Graham (in a good role) plays Mary, confidante and companion to Lady Camilla, quite a likeable character. Then there's Alan Davis, who plays Superintendent Mallard, a welcomed addition for Miss Marple. Together with the Superintendents sergeant, they begin to deduce the characters one by one...!

This particular storyline is really quite enjoyable and, there are so many talented performances from these established actors that the adaptation of 'Christies' plot was bound to succeed...!

(Although, it was obvious who the culprit was)..!!!

Great performances from a great cast, especially Miss Geraldine McEwan as ever..!!

She is undoubtedly The Real McCoy & The Genuine Miss Jane Marple..!

I have loved watching each and every episode with Geraldine McEwan as Marple, I simply cannot imagine Julia Mckenzie in (what has become Geraldine McEwans Role of a Lifetime) reprising Miss Marple with the same vigor, intrigue, and compassion that invariably brings out the injunuity, mystique and warmth that McEwan gives to Miss Marple.! It was a surprise and shock to learn, that after episode 4 of the 3rd series 'Nemesis', Geraldine McEwan would no-longer play Miss Marple in the continued 4th series throughto series six. It was announced that Julia Mckenzie (although talented) would now play Marple in the 4th, 5th & 6th series.

A total mis-cast & No Comparison..!

The last of the final series ended with:- "Endless Night" what a grand finale..!!

This was an enjoyable series.. Sublime and Amazing..!!!

I have purchased the 3 series of 'Miss Marple' with 'Geraldine McEwan' as Marple and I shall treasure always.. I Recommend You Watch this and all episodes, especially the 1st three series..:):):)

Marple: At Bertram's Hotel
(2007)
Episode 1, Season 3

'Another Surprising Mystery'
Geraldine McEwan shines again.!

It was an unbelievable surprise to see reviewers leaving such low scores for this version of Miss Marple, as low as 3s..???

I understand everyone deserves to lay down their own opinion in reviews but, 3s, that is outrageous..!

Have you all been watching the same drama that I have been watching? It seems unlikely..:( 'Miss Geraldine McEwan' is absolutely fantastic and, her ability to convince an ordiance of the reality of the character is flawrless..! She is absolutely convincing, energising, meticulous, methodical, and lovably humorous.!.

Joan Hickson played 'Miss Marple' in a completely different narrative and style..! I found some of her episodes of 'Miss Marple' were slow, dreary and drowsy, that really took too long to take off I would end-up switching over..sorry.. There is no comparison to Miss Geraldine McEwans' version of Marple, no way shape or form does her Miss Marple character appear like a nosy old woman, poking her nose where it doesn't belong; even though she does:) She is a meticulously minded woman whom has trodden the depths of society:):):) 'Quoted' by 'Miss Marples' friend Dolly bantry in episode "Body in the Library" (played by Joanna Lumley) Geraldine McEwan has made my Sunday afternoons a much more pleasant one having these wonderful episodes of 'Marple' to watch..! I have enjoyed immensely all of the episodes with Miss Geraldine McEwan playing 'Miss Marple', I just hoped she would have remained with and continued until the end of series six; that would have been superb..!!! I do not know why she ended her role at the end of series three, disappointed for sure..! Maybe to encapsulate, start from the beginning of series one, "Body in the Library" that way, you can watch and have all twelve episodes to treasure:)

Death on the Nile
(1978)

"An Enjoyable Christie Adaptation"
This multi-cast version of "Death on the Nile" is quite enjoyable, as there are a multitude of characters to unravel and, a plot that keeps you guessing almost until the end. The Casting was superb.. It is always a pleasure to watch so many talented actors fused together in one mystery movie.. Peter Ustinovs' take on the character 'Hercule Poirot is rewarding (played with a little humour).. There have been so many different actors that have tried to capture the true authenticity of 'Christies Belgian Detective 'Hercule Poirot' but have failed tremendously. 'Peter Ustinovs' version is a pleasant & entertaining one. This movie is a rare treat and a delight to watch on a Sunday afternoon whilst awaiting dinner being prepared..:):):) To have 'Miss Bette Davis, 'Dame Maggie Smith', 'Dame Angela Lansbury' 'David Niven' 'Simon MacCorkindale' and 'Mia Farrow' to name but a few, all together in one movie, Wow.! To have so many talented actors is an absolute delight:) The other delightful performances 'Ustinov' performs in as 'Hercule Poirot' are:- 'Appointment With Death' '13 at Dinner', 'Dead Mans Folly,' 'Death on the Nile,' 'Murder in three Acts' and, 'Evil under the Sun' These mystery movies are a pleasure to watch and enjoy with family or friends, together you'll have an enjoyable experience.! Keeps the mystery & Suspense right up until the very end..!

Thumbs Up triple fold..;):):)

Homicide Hunter: Lt. Joe Kenda
(2011)

"Fascinating, Enthralling & An Addictive Series"
Love..Love..Love..this series...!!

I have literally downloaded each series and episode, & watched them all until finished over the August bank holiday weekend...!

'Lt Joe Kenda' A former lieutenant in the Colorado Springs Police Force, is Absolutely amazing..!

'Joe Marino' who plays the Lieutenant on the series is awesome..!

As are all the other actors who played the parts of those dedicated officers, news reporters and all those concerned...

I believe the people of Colorado were in a much better place having such a dedicated Police Force and a great Lt in 'Joe Kenda'.. I Salute You all..!

Wow, one doesn't really realise the extent of how the Police Force (and officers) spend their working hours and days, risking their lives on a daily basis..!

The magnitude of research, field-work, and sheer endurance, is Mind Blowing .. The officers are put through so much stress.. but, the dedication, will power and the drive to succeed is Overwhelming..! 'Joe Kenda' has surely shown in these series, the magnitude of hard work and tenacity Police undertake risking their own lives to protect the public does eventually payoff.. Also, the series shows the human side to Policing as well as the dedication to fulfil their tasks and goals to get the job done no matter how long it takes...Amazing!

These series are Addictive, Enthralling and Exciting..! Especially when the suspects have been caught, and families receive the closure they have waited for; makes their job all worth while.. It was so nice to see Joe's wife 'Mary..Kathy' make an appearance on the show, telling of her experiences working herself in stressful environments as a paediatric nurse, and how it can be similar to Joes job, especially where making decisions can mean a choice between life and death.....Kathy also expressed what it's like being married to Joe, (dealing with the worries for his safety daily, and the stress that it played on their marriage).. Kathy became more understanding regarding Joe's job.. accepting and understanding his explanations with regards to his ever evolving duties and commitments being a dedicated Police officer...Why...? Kathy did a drive along with Joe in his Police vehicle one day as he did his regular patrol..Kathy was so shocked at what she saw and experienced.. watching her husbands leadership qualities and his ability to contain a situation quickly was mind blowing for her.... Kathy then realised how lucky she was having Joe as a protector, husband, and father to their two wonderful children..(They're still Happily Married to this Day..:)) I am so looking forward to seeing 'Joe Kenda' hopefully in a new series on ID maybe...as he is a natural in front of the camera ( his humour, anecdotes and ability getting his point across is mesmerising & hilarious... fab').... Oh..my my my..:) Good Luck 'Joe Kenda' in any and all Endeavours.. Don't give up the Good Work..!...Well Well...:)

Retirement be damned..:) :):)x.

Faces in the Dark
(1960)

"A Very Intriguing Film"
I understand that this film is neither thriller or suspense when advertised but, I found it thoroughly enjoyable. I agree with the other reviewer that Richard, played John Gregson was absolutely intolerable, obnoxious and belligerent at the beginning... What wife..Christiane (played by Mai Zetterling) would have put up with such an unapproachable gravel voiced workaholic husband such as he.. One may say it was divine justice Richards accident but, to find out what was really going on (defies belief)...Nannette Newman was however a little inciped... All round good Watchable movie, I that you watch it if possible..!!!

Van der Valk: Plague on Amsterdam
(2022)
Episode 1, Season 2

"Rubbish"
Luke Allen Gale is the Worst Actor Ever.!!! His character is totally not needed and rather worthless, useless and simply illiterate...!!!

He absolutely brings nothing to the character or the series drama, and he appears to always have a mouth full of food each time he's at all present on screen? Who on earth cast him in this drama needs their head testing??? As he just cheapens the whole concept of what a serious detective is all about..(eg:-Jack Frost, now you're talking) Each time he appears on screen he is eating and consuming something.. Can he even read has? As he has absolutely nothing to contribute to the investigations... He needs to go.. Why are the female cast wearing atrocious wigs? It's laughable really.. Are they so cheap that decent wigs couldn't be obtained.. The whole cast needs a whole new reshuffle, otherwise I truelly cannot believe this drama is good enough to continue and I'm out... The Director isn't doing what they're paid to do...:(

Van der Valk
(2020)

'Unconvincing Dribble'
Where shall I begin???

Where did the Producers find half of these characters that are supposedly playing serious detectives... The scruffy lazy slob with no talent and initiative (let alone, he doesn't seem to do anything at all but drink & eat) named Luke Gale playing detective Brad de Vries is totally useless and clueless..How was he given this role? It's beyond compression that he was even given an audition. An absolute terrible actor with a terrible accent..What were they thinking? It was so hard to concentrate due to the lack of conviction, empathy emotion or praise from Piet Van der Valk towards the only serious player Cloovers, all his hard work and no recognitionat all or thanks.. Valk is so cold and unforgiving, hardly a trait befitting a senior officer towards his mentor:(:( The cast are mis-cast and inappropriate for this remake of a classic 70s cop dramas that was iconic with 'Barry Foster' as lead Van der Valk.. No Comparison Whatsoever... Please in series 2, re-cast.. Get rid of Luke Gale & Maimie McCoy..Those scruffy drab un-ironed t-shirts she wears repetitively is ridiculous, as well as her accent and acting.. Why not learn the Dutch accent to make it convincing & authentic if you want to prove yourself a great actress...Thumbs down for her, as she's annoying and can't act because she doesn't convince... British drama doesn't seem to cut the mustard anymore, because they do-nit seem to have the talent.. Therefore, they're satisfied with low ranking nobody's that (to be honest) shouldn't be on TV at all.. It's like going to your local backstreet pub and pulling some scruffy loafers, and then offering them tv stardom...Common spoken and Common attitudes towards a respected profession down grades British Police (detectives) as being totally inept and useless (which is not the case) Look elsewhere for series 2 as I'm out..Sorry...

The Blacklist: The SPK (No. 178)
(2021)
Episode 3, Season 9

'What is wrong with Resslee'
I don't understand the animosity Ressler has for Reddington? It's confusing! He would be well dead by now had it not been for 'Red'.. His character should be retired as, it has become a little repetitive him keep coming back.. In the scene where Ressler & Park visit 'David Kangas (a suspected artefact theif & murderer) On approaching his front lawn where he was raking in the weeds, (after the agents question him) the suspect suddenly runs into what looks like a garden shed..( the agents knock the door open, to him come running out blazing on fire.. What was ridiculous however is that it was no-longer David Kangas ablaze, but, very clearly a replacement in disguise (A Stunt man!!!) Wow, it was soo obvious the switch that it was laughable:) The grey buffon wig and much larger body, was a dead giveaway.. I couldn't believe what I was looking at, that it was clearly a different man..!!!

I really like this series after getting into it late-on.. Mistakes like that should not be evident after editing? Glad to see 'Dembe' return as an agent, a great character..!!

What would the series be without "Raymond Reddington"..(James Spader) has mastered this character and made it his own. Well Done..!!!

Criminal Minds: Profiler, Profiled
(2006)
Episode 12, Season 2

"Absolutely Mesmerising"
Shemar More is Absolutely spellbinding.!!

Authentic, believable, and Sincere..!

He Deserves a recognition award for those binding final scenes alone!!!

Well done Shemar..you have really outdone yourself...!!! This was a memorable performance..!!!

Murder, She Wrote: One White Rose for Death
(1986)
Episode 4, Season 3

"Not One Of The Better Episodes"
Ordinarily, I love "Murder She Wrote" but, when the storylines include the Michael Hagarty character, I find them too characateur...What is it with the reoccurring role of 'Michael Hagarty' played by Len Cariou? It really is a ridiculous storyline and soo Unconvincing..! Himself..being a broad Irishman, would the British Government (MI6 or MI5) use someone of his credentials as a world Spy..??? Soo Not Convinced.. He pops up in all these different locations with flimsy storylines, conveniently where there's a guarantee Jessica Fletcher is residing.

The way he always needs 'Jessica Fletcher' to pull off his scams is ridiculous and dangerous.. What kind of Spy would involve a woman of her standing in his schemes and he always seems to have no-one else he's working with.. If his character isn't known by all and sundry by now, gosh, what would the British establishment become, if it relied on characters like Michael Hagerty...He's No 'James Bond'.. (He's Certainly "Not faceless or Ordinary") as he once quoted to Jessica..

9-1-1: Boston
(2022)
Episode 12, Season 5

"What Happened with the Switch"?
I watch this show on occasions when there is nothing else to watch, as some of the characters just Cannot Act!..But, how stupid do the producers believe all of us public to be?? Come on, when Maddie.met Howie and their daughter for the 1st time in months (since her apparent ppd) the baby looked full Chinese! And much smaller..!! In the next scene (which was supposedly the following day) anyone could see that the child had been Switched!! With a bi-racial much older child (which now appears to be walking...Already)? It was unbelievable and Shocking...Hadn't Maddies disappearance been for only 6 months..If So..Why is it that when their daughter was only a few weeks old at the time Maddie leaving, and six months from her sudden re-appearance, that the child jumped in size and culture in just One Day??? This storyline is really ridiculous, Unbelievable and taking us all for fools... I was surprised at 1st that they used a full Chinese baby in one scene (when it was obvious that the baby should have been bi-racial) Then conveniently, and suddenly! This bi-racial Toddler appears in the following scene.. We all know (I suppose) and understand that different children would be used during filming but, this is laughable and ridiculous... This Show Is a Hit and Miss! Due to the inexperienced actors they have on the show that are just not likeable or you just can't connect with....(all so wooden, stiff, and try too hard to be likeable by over acting).. 'Angela Bassett' however does a Great Job (as usual), just a shame she had to do it on this show...!

The Ipcress File
(2022)

'Harry Palmer'...
Just quickly noting a short m opinion so-far regarding the 1st couple of episodes of 'The Ipcress File' series... After watching the original with 'Michael Caine' of course this series has alot to live up to.. Thanks for the mention in the review regarding the absence of 'Ross'... Why is a good story messed around with though ;( I'm not a fan of these new style British dramas made today, as they're so repetitive with not so good actors with absolutely no acting talent (ex soap stars mainly) so unconvincing! Yet so far, this series has kept me watching... Looking forward to it becoming more forthcoming... Check out...

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Bullseye
(2010)
Episode 2, Season 12

"What Happened Olivia..?"
Why oh why again..!!! Has Olivia no that regards instincts as a seasoned SVU detective....???

This storyline is absolutely ridiculous!! Shame on those reviewers that gave a high review..:( This is a follow-up to the previous episode "Locum"regarding the runaway girl Mackenzie..played by actress-Bailee Madison, also guest starring 'Peter Strauss' (Love his work:)) and 'Joan Cusack' a great actress! The British actor playing Erik Weber was not even investigated during the episode "Locum" which was a complete shock and surprise! What were they thinking about? It was obvious he was a paedophile..¿ It was also a surprise when he popped up again in this episode "Bullseye"..Wow, what a coincidence one presumes, here we go, as it's a tell-tale sign when you suddenly see his face appear as a children taikwondo instructor..?

What happens next is unbelievable.. Olivia again falls for a face, when this Erik Weber has hacked child pornography on his own personal computer, and Olivia calls him a genius. Am I missing something here... Is he not a civilian possessing illegal images in the guise of (his investigations) Why was he Never a suspect? Why was he Not looked into, especially being a foreigner.. In the previous episode, it was obvious he was no-good..If you, as an SVU female detective have no instincts, what the h--l are you doing in a job like that? In all the seasons of SVU, Olivia doesn't seem to learn anything about a persons character or demeanour.. I can honestly say Erik Weber would have definitely been a person of interest from day one in my book.. Especially when in the previous episode"Locum" he was sat drinking juice (having purchased the drink himself) with the runaway girl Mackenzie in the train station, without alerting the police or the security guards in the station. Mckenzie was only eight years old or thereabout... Isn't that suspicious in itself that would warrant at least a house search and background check..He was allowed to leave without any investigation or any checks what-so-ever..Why, because he was a supposedly good looking man and, not only did he come-on to Olivia Benson, but, she was in-two-minds (once again) to reciprocate.. I really love SVU, but on many an occasion, the writers get it completely wrong, especially with regards to 'Mariska Hagertys' character..(Her character needs to develop alot more instincts) On these crossover episodes, the writers certainly did miss an opportunity for Olivia to get it right the first time for a change.. That is why on this occasion my rating score is a 3.. Better Luck Next Time...:(

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Shadow
(2010)
Episode 12, Season 11

'SVU With A Difference..!!!"
A really great episode with a difference... This episode was, and is, one of the best episodes ever of the 'SVU' Franchise... A really exciting and unique storyline, without any involvement of rape... The casting was a good choice with a touch of British Class by Naveen Andre, also, with the talented actress Sarah Paulson, a great actress, (always quite eerie :) ).

Thumbs Up For the writers Dick Wolf and Amanda Green...!!!

More episodes of this caliber would delight the avid followers of SVU.. Excellent...

Selling the Hamptons
(2022)

"Repetitive & Simply Boring"
The worst property selling series Ever..! The agents are soooo unattractive...yuk... Their introduction of inventory seem far fetched and insincere...!!!

I mean, the one, (I've forgotten her name) which wore the black and white dress, was absolutely body..ugh ridiculously unattractive and she didn't seem to know what she was talking about. Her dress repeatedly kept blowing up and down, revealing her whole body..ugh...Couldn't sell fish in a fish market..:(:(:( She didn't look good at all... If they're the best the Hamptons have to offer, then we're all OK.. :) The male agents look like street fighters, ('The Hulk' springs to mind) Oh my word, soooo unattractive too...:(:(:(.

I watched the first part of the 1st episode, and I knew I had had enough...No More Series... Sorry, but this is definitely a No No...Believe Me..!!!

Hopefully, they're not going to use tv as a upscalling profile for earnings above and beyond... Amateur at its Best.. Compare this to "Selling New York" no comparison what-so-ever..

Law & Order: Criminal Intent
(2001)

"Law and Order Criminal Intent..Vincent D'onofrio"
The more episodes and series I have watched, the more enjoyable 'Vincent D'onofrios' character has evolved.

Whereas, I just can't get round or, connect with Kathrye Erbes' portrayal as criminal detective Eames.. I find her devoid of emotion and sincerity towards the victims whom have either lost a relative or a friend.. She lingers behind Goren with this cold austere expression, as always, he's the one who connects and consoles the poor unfortunate family members who have lost their loved one.. As the series continued, I truelly believed the producers would write into Eames' character a little more empathy.. How did she win this phenomenal role..especially being a pint sized actress, you would think she'd want to commandeer her characters persona..(Limp at best!!!) It's hard to believe that two partners were put together with total opposite characters.. I guess it's the Goren show after all, and Erbes' role was to be the follower adding nothing to the pot.. If it wasn't for D'onofrios' genius, where would Eames be.. The storylines are engrossing and informative.. Looking forward to next series...

Law & Order: Criminal Intent: Dead
(2002)
Episode 1, Season 2

"Law and Order (Criminal Intent)"..Series 2
If you were to have read my review of the 1st series, then you'd know how much I love this series..:) After I purchased series 1 and begun to watch a few episodes, I knew that I must purchase as soon as possible series 2 so that I'd have the next new episode ready to watch, when the last disc played in my bluray of series 1.

I certainly didn't want to watch all series 1 episodes before I had purchased as many series as possible..! The Complete boxset would be nice:) Vincent D'onofrio is an excellent character and method actor that brings uniqueness to his character, detective 'Robert Goren' not unlike "Columbo" He's humble, claver, and wise; his psychological intuitiveness can seem a little calculating, even frustrating to those around him, but doesn't he always get his man.! 'Goren' is a character that is just so exciting to watch. Unlike his partner Kathryn Erbe (det' Alex' Eames), her character is quite drab, cold and lacks a little empathy, she doesn't seem to have a thought or opinion of her own, without being prompted by 'Goren'.. Goren is quite a private person, he does however rely upon Eames for support and back-up. Their partnership seems to work because they're both so different. Talk about the Spider and the fly..!! He's a leader, she's the follower... Looking forward to this series going on and on.. Love It..!!!

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
(1999)

"Not As Intriguing As Once Was"
I don't know what has happened to 'Law and Order SVU'... I truelly believe it's run its cause now!

Especially turning Carisi into the 'Quick Jump' DA..🤔 I mean, where did that storyline appear from??? It's absolutely ridiculous.. 1st, he's a second rate detective that hadn't finished 'presumed law school' ' Then, low and behold, upscale to the Prosecutions lead DA??? Without training or experience! I find it the worst, and most unbelievable storyline ever..!!! Carisi is the worst DA to be on any of the 'Law and Order Franchises... Something needs to change dramatically..Since the departure of (Dan Floreks' character Captain Cragen) the series doesn't seem to have picked back-up! It was bad enough when they introduced 'Danny Pino' as 'det' Nick Amaro' to be a replacement for 'Stabler', I found his character lacking, fake, and unlikeable; it really spoilt the dynamics of the show. I guess the larger than life (Christopher Melonis') character "Detective Stabler" was surely missed :(:(:( Loved his character...!!!

I understand "Mariska Hagerty" as Det' Benton is a great character, but without a male lead accompanying her, somehow it falls flat..She's paid a hefty pay-packet per episode, and the series just isn't cutting it without any great Male leads...!!

'Det 'Robert Goren' from 'Criminal Intent' he was the bomb.. now that was a fantastic show..!!!

Loved his character, loved the show..so-sad when it ended..!!!

Something needs to change in the new season of 'SVU', as its become complacent and really predictable..:(:(:( The storylines are repetitive and clichè..Det' Bentons' role as a Captain seems to differ somewhat to 'Cragens' character. I thought Police Captains remained behind the desk??? Benton seems to be all over the place..? Is it because they don't want to pay anyone else..?? 'Ice T' as 'Fin Tutola' can only go so-far..

In this day and age the writers are only just dealing with topics regarding (ethnicities and prejudices) by their police force and detectives.. Incorporating storylines like this into episodes need to be addressed alot more, especially with regards to the General Public witnessing 1st-hand Police prejudices and brutality through Social Media.!!

Bring Back the Good Storylines, and please... add a little more influential leads....!!!

Carisi needs to go..:):):)
