Kemper
(2008)

The Filmmakers Know Very Little About Kemper
First of all, Ed Kemper was 6'9" tall - the actor playing him was short and way too old for the role. Kemper trolled college campuses for his victims and would not have been able to get to as many young women if he were in his 40's as he was portrayed.

Kemper was extremely intelligent and likable, but this merely portrays him as a one-note freak. Which he was not.

Dialogue terrible, and cell phones and computers in the 1970's! Who was the production designer? Glad I didn't pay to see this one. I wish a really fine movie would be made about this brilliant killer - too bad he wasn't able to use his smarts for the good of the world.

Even Kemper (he is still alive in prison) would roll with laughter at the way he's portrayed here.

Boring boring boring and pathetic piece of tripe.

The Cleaner
(2007)

Mxing of Genres Happens All the Time
I am quite familiar with THE CLEANER and don't see the problem with "mixing genres". Happens all the time...horror/comedy, for example. Especially in horror. We need a release from the tension...

While this film doesn't cross the "comedy" line, it certainly has its dark humor. And as far as the "snuff" comments, take a look at the headlines today. We are very cruel to other humans and much worse goes on in the real world. Humans are really some messed up creatures.

Take another look at THE CLEANER after you've let all this settle. I think you'll see social comment more than a potential "snuff" film.

I'm not clear what you were expecting to see, actually. Regardless, I do support your right to a different opinion.

Thanks.

The Wrath
(2007)

Lighten Up on this Film!
I did see this at the initial screening in Los Angeles, and to tell you the truth, considering there were a lot of first-time folks involved, it really doesn't deserve the bad rap above.

The director was smart because he had an experienced crew and listened to them - unlike a lot of novice directors who are convinced they know everything because they've read a few books on directing.

"The Wrath" has a lot of dry humor and at times, is fairly creepy.

The romantic leads were completely believable, which is a main reason why the story worked for me, and though the film was not in final finished form (I have not seen that version yet) I truly enjoyed the screening. Of course, it wasn't perfect (really what is?) but I could clearly see that the cast enjoyed the filming.

I hope that the Higgins group will continue to create and keep the love of the genre they clearly have.

I look forward to seeing other productions.

Amber's Story

Awful movie except for Myron Natwick as Glen Park
I think that Elisabeth Rohm, though she may try hard, is not very good at all. I guess it was because of budget that she may have been the only one they could get for that price. I mainly watched it for the performance of Myron Natwick, whose work I know very well.

He was the most believable and without doubt the most compelling to watch. When he wasn't on the screen, the thing went dead. This was filmed in Vancouver. He gave me the creeps, but be assured that in real life he is a kind, funny compassionate man. He even said playing that role gave him the creeps.

I'll watch anything with him in it, but Elisabeth Rohm - never again. She was as exciting as lint on Law and Order. Maybe a very nice person, but no actress.
