First things First: make no mistake, this is a cartoon, but it is NOT family friendly. This is on par with DC level animation for adults.
That said..Amazon did it again. If you enjoyed "The Boys" you will like Invincible. I don't think It's on the same level of a dark and twisted take on superhero's as The Boys is, but it definitely hits a lot of the same notes.
At times it feels like a cheap knockoff version of the DC comics "Injustice" series mixed with parts of the Marvel universe. You will see what I am talking about when you are introduced to the "Guardians of the Globe." They are a close enough representation to know who the characters inspiration was based on, but far enough not to get sued by WB or Disney. To me that was really the only part of the show where I really felt like they mailed it in. With that said, they do enough with the character and plot development of the main characters to give it is own flavor and branding. The Omni-Man character is definitely one that stands out on its own.
They leave it wide open for another season which I will be looking forward to watching.
