Monkey Man
(2024)

Now that was wild
Wow, just wow, that was such a wild ride. The films choreography and fighting techniques truly demonstrated a gruesome story that brings the relevance of growth through inexperience and corruption while having unique fatalities. I loved how they quoted John Wick while keeping this film its own thing story wise and combat wise, it brought a different level of gruesome nature for the audience to experience. After viewing this film for the first time I have got to say that Jordan peele made the right decision to find Dev Patel's story. It was a Brilliant directorial debut and I hope that he continues to make more stories for the modern audience to enjoy.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
(2023)

A MASTERPIECE IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD
Over many years, sequels have been known to sweep Hollywood off its feet. Making films like Empire strikes back and Top Gun Maverick which were absolutely superior to their predecessors in every way. Now Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse does that absolute feat after the audience patiently awaited for Miles Morales's return to the big screen after 5 years. Every single member of the Animation team poured their heart and soul's into each individual design for not only the locations but also each individual character. Even with this film being one piece of the pie, it is quite delectable in every way.

Person note: In 2018,I experienced Miles Morales's origin for the first time when i watched Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse at the Cinemark Theater, which in all honesty became one of my favorite films of all time. It's animation was one of the most unique styles that I had laid my eyes on at the time. The use of a multiverse gave a perfect blend of characters to help Miles story grow. So after the film gained it's successful stardom, the announcement of a two parted sequel hit the internet by a storm of support, which is particularly the best reaction the internet could give. No one could comprehend how remarkable it would become.

Across the Spider-Verse is what would be regarded as a Spider-Man fans dream film. It not only respects the source material given from the films, games and comics but it also gives a compelling story that everyone will love and isn't dragged by it's sheer amount of cameos. The easter eggs and references that are incorporated into the film are used very well and will in all honesty blow the audience's minds.

The Little Mermaid
(2023)

Disney Best live Action Remake yet
Throughout a stupidly controversial process Disney has made the best live action remake yet. One that may even be better than the original. The films changes gives a new light on each character. A story of each characters hardships that will be overcame with the power of love

when I first heard of the little mermaid being developed was not really worried because I loved all of the live action version's (except mulan unfortunately). Although when I went to see the movie in the weekend (05-27-23) I didn't expect it to literally blow me out of the water (heh ocean jokes). This has quite possibly become my favorite live action remake.

Suzume no Tojimari
(2022)

Truly a Visual masterpiece that will break your soul
Makoto Shinkai does it again with another artistic delight that not only breaks my soul but also drives my hunger for more content by him.

A year ago I had the opportunity to start watching his content. Specifically with "your name" I went in completely blind other than watching the trailer for the film. Underestimating Makoto Shinkai's abilities was the biggest mistake I could have made when watching a Anime film such as his. Let's just say that his new film gave me everything that I wanted and more. A Compelling story that broke me physically and emotionally while making me want more.

I will definitely be returning to the theater in the future to see what he brings next to the table. He brought more to my eyes that i truly wish I had seen before. Truly a S-Class director alongside Hayao Miyazaki.

Kimetsu no Yaiba Katanakaji no Sato-hen
(2023)

The review bombing need to stop, this was amazing
Honestly when getting my tickets for demon slayer, I knew what I was getting myself into. I knew of the recap from the entertainment district and I loved every second of it. I was even crying during the flashback scene between the demon siblings.

Now for the Swordsman Village reaction OH MY GOD, that episode kicked things out of the park. The animation was fluid as hell. And even though there was a cliffhanger, I am excited to see what the new season has to offer. Cause if it's anything like this new episode, then it's going to be amazing. The story gave a plot twist that I was totally not expecting, and I loved it.

Avatar: The Way of Water
(2022)

The love that flows like water
During the time of avatar (2009) release I was too young to go experience it for myself. And now with "the way of water's release, I wanted to experience the same wonder that came with the first film. And James Cameron did not disappoint. The visuals came to no surprise. Immensely surpassing that of the first film. I was really invested in the characters. Showing the sully children grow into their own people with their own problems. And even showing Sully's growth from a marine into a father. I really know that this film deserves the praise and I hope that it will continue even to the third film.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish
(2022)

This had no reason to be this good
Puss in boots finally comes out 11 years after we we last saw the lovable el gato's adventure and let's just say that (Puss in Boots:The Last Wish) is everything that we wanted in the sequel for the legend himself. The animation is out of this world, with the film prioritizing a similar style like "Spider-Man:Into the Spider-Verse(2018) and The Bad Guys (2022). The story is a great improvement from the first film with puss given a huge amount of character development that allows conflict to subside with his personality that remains after the first film while allowing every character to tackle serious/darker topics that doesn't conflict with it's comedic tone. The film even carry's over a hilarious amount of comedy that is familiar from the first shrek film.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery
(2022)

Captivating and multilayered
Glass onion:A knives out mystery

Glass onion is the followup mystery to rian Johnson 2019 hit "Knives Out". And it the story and it's cast blows the whole movie out of the water. The movie makes you believe in one idea that you have and takes it's time to unravel any events that occur to its characters. It's characters are somewhat unlikeable, although there is something in the story that brings you closer to try to understand them.

Personal view: There are many opportunities that comes with moving your characters along to different stories. Although when Rian Johnson said that Denoit Blance was moving along to other mysteries without ever bringing up the Drysdale family. It was probably the best opportunity to explore other characters and there connection to the great detective.

I give this multi layered onion shaped mystery a 8/10.

One Piece Film: Red
(2022)

A vibrant,frightening and colorful treasure
One Piece Film :Red is the newest movie in the trilogy of one piece films. It is a vibrant, frightening, and colorful addition to the series that involved a series of musical numbers that the audience can enjoy. The characters are lively and extravagant contribution to the story.

Personal note:This is honestly my intro to the one piece series. Having not seen the series yet, I feel like it was a great place to start. I do know enough of the lore to know the concept and the story. The story allows the characters to reflect on their past and even allows it to fit there mission. I especially loved the music and it became a tearjerking conclusion that hit me hard.

Smile
(2022)

You won't be smiling for long
Smile is what a horror movie should be. Putting you on the edge of your seat, while fearing for what might happens next. It gives the audience a uneasy feeling for the majority of the film. The messages of PTSD and how it can leave a perpetual scar. How it can move from one host to another with no end to the issue until confrontation can occur.

😃 Opinion note:Smile is literally the scariest film I have seen up to date:Turning a common expression such as a smile and turning it into the scariest meaning I have ever seen. The editing and cinematography put me on edge for the entire movie and I could never catch a break.

Elvis
(2022)

I honorable performance for the king of rock and roll
Elvis is a gift. A love letter for not just for today's fans but for those in the future who will come to love Elvis for his life and his music. This biopic is full of energy and love for who he was. Austin butler's performance was a piece of art. It felt like Elvis came back from the dead to gives us one more film. This movie turns Elvis into someone more than just a celebrity. Showing us who he is and what he wanted to be,what he wanted to do. His life was truly a heartbreaking reality, although it teaches you to be who you want to be. Tom Hanks for the first time plays a person perfectly to the point where I am both terrified and disgusted at him.

I came out of that theater with a applause for a true icon. Baz Luhrmann was a unusual and perfect choice for directing this heartbreaking tale. I am truly happy that I got to this film. I wish I could rewatch it for the first time all over again.

Morbius
(2022)

People just love to overhate on movies
Where to begin,Jared Leto and Matt Smith. They both did a fantastic job in this movie. Giving us a story of what lengths brotherhood can go while discovering what lengths they were willing to go to survive. It was terrifying, visually beautiful to the eyes and the fight scenes were amazing. People just love hating on it because of Jared Leto, give it a break people. He is actually a good actor. I would gladly see this movie again just to please my eyes and mind again. And also those two end credit scenes gave my heart a jump for what the future of Jared Leto's Morbius is yet to come.

West Side Story
(2021)

Spectacular & stupendous
Having not seen the original film but knowing the impact it had on the generation before me, I was pretty scared to see if this film was going to be terrible. I then watched the (tonight) music clip. I slowly fought myself to go to the theatre and see it early in the morning. I had experienced every emotion going through that film. I was happy,Sad,angry, and unable to see cause of my tears. I am happy to see that Stephen Spielberg did justice for such a spectacular masterpiece of a musical. I am now searching high and low for the original.

Wakfu
(2008)

It's needs more seasons
Watching this show was like the thrill of adventure. Please I don't want this show to end. Please make more seasons

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power
(2018)

Like Voltron, but truly it's own marvel
As a fan of voltron, I was waiting for netflix to make another one of these shows. At first I though it was gonna be a horrible show by now I realize that for a person who just got introduced to she-ra this has been the best way yet. PLEASE NETFIX MAKE A SEASON TWO AND WHILE YOUR AT IT, MAKE A SEASON 3.
