Hazel: Hazel and the Lovebirds
(1962)
Episode 14, Season 2

Moldie Oldie
This was made way back in 1962, when it was normal for parents to control every aspect of your life until they passed away.

In modern times, Deidre would not be considered a victim doing her best, but an abuser who should be incarcerated.

The only good part is where Hazel tells Deidre that she needs to listen to her daughter, or she'll lose her. Of course, Deidre doesn't listen to Hazel, as she's "only a maid".

Deidre is half right when she says that breeding will always tell in the end. Unfortunately, WHAT breeding tells is another matter - it doesn't make you better. It makes you an intolerant, insufferable, obnoxious boor.

Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars
(2023)

Bizarre
Gordon is playing Sugar Daddy ... er, co-investor, to one (and only one) Instagram Influencer ... entrepreneur.

The problems: 1) None of the Contentants are capable of completing ANY of the challenges.

2) None of the challenges have anything to do with the ANY of the Contestants' businesses.

3) Gordon seems to be using these Instagram Influencers to flex on how great he is.

4) None of the Contestants can work together as a team.

5) After watching five episodes, I doubt that any of the Contestants have ever even SEEN a kitchen, let alone run their own business. Or have worked a day in their whole life. Or have ever heard the word no.

Food Stars? Hardly. More like Rich Showoff and Fifteen Spoiled Kids.

Dr. Phil
(2002)

0/10
(Not a) Dr. Phil can't solve anyone's problems. Not even his own. When this "Christian" was cheating on his wife, he blamed her for his infidelity.

He is not a psychologist. His license to practice in Texas expired 16 years ago.

He is an entertainer and bully with Blame The Victim Syndrome. He doesn't belong on TV. He belongs in prison.

Star Trek: The Enemy Within
(1966)
Episode 5, Season 1

Worthy of Season 3
A transporter accident divides Kirk into 2 people - one good but indecisive, the other evil and dictatorial.

Apparently, nice people can't make decisions. And those in command cannot be nice?

Kirk is busy shouting that he's innocent, instead of listening to his Yeoman. Everyone thinks that Janice Rand is "just a hysterical woman" until a man backs her story. Then they accuse Fischer of destroying Kirk's career instead of trying to find out what happened.

Which, by this point, is already obvious.

Instead of beaming the Landing Party up and keeping them secure (and warm) until they can find a solution (or sending a shuttle down), they leave everyone to freeze.

Spock tells Kirk they can't announce the full truth to the crew. Why? The full truth is "Due to a transporter accident, a duplicate, evil Captain is aboard, and must be captured alive".

A bizarre (and poor) episode, where everyone is unduly preoccupied with Kirk's reputation and career, rather than the safety of the ship and crew.

Knight Rider: Soul Survivor
(1983)
Episode 9, Season 2

Unintentionally Hilarious
In the previous episode, Devon pulls over to help a distressed motorist, only to find that they steal Colonel Smythe's Pennington.

Instead of saying "From now on, use your car phone to summon assistance, because the cars we drive are irreplaceable!", Michael stops to help another distressed motorist and finds his car stolen.

How is the world's most sophisticated car, with the most advanced computer on Earth hacked into? By a 17 year-old hobbist with no education or experience, who wiggles a joystick while telling KITT to give up.

KITT calls out to Michael, who can't respond bc he's unconscious. KITT doesn't scan the area to find this out. Nor does KITT report the situation to Devon, or even retreat to a safe distance.

Instead, KITT just sits there giving his name and serial number until Randy pulls his CPU out and leaves it in a cardboard box.

April should be the only one on Earth who can bypass KITT's security - except that it's no more advanced than a flagger holding up a stop sign until his arm gets tired.

Just as they're about to give up and leave, Michael somehow "feels KITT's presence" from 50 feet away, and follows the vibe to KITT's CPU. Then stands there holding KITT in his hands, expecting KITT to talk with him.

Everything that makes KITT who he is has been "broken into, cannibalized, wiped clean" - except that the ONLY difference is he's now in a portable TV instead of a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am.

That's the best the Foundation could do. They apparently couldn't find another 82 Pontiac, an 82 Honda Civic, or the 82 Apple ii sitting only 5 feet away.

The "Whiz Kid" who can hack into KITT, bypass his security, wipe his CPU, and remove it, turns KITT's body into ... a video game; a Radio Shack remote control car. Because the "Boy Genius" can't build his own computer.

While Michael and KITT search Randy's computer, someone from the outside calls. From the outside. Via a telephone. With a computer. The floor is made out of floor.

Devon can't track Adrienne Margeaux. Can't track Randy Merritt. Has no idea who the handful of people who know about KITT are. His hands are completely tied.

Randy Merritt, the teenage computer genius who's doing this bc he fell for an older woman, doesn't even kiss her. He worries about owing $8.95 to his computer club. When he's stealing $14 million worth of art.

Michael runs out of gas. Instead of asking "Where's the nearest gas station"?, he asks "How far to Cutter's Crossing?", their destination. And instead of asking for a ride, he trades Devon's Mercedes for a 1951 Studebaker.

The Security Guards, who are transporting $14 million worth of art, ask each other what the hijackers are doing - and conclude that they ... don't know.

Randy the Whiz Kid who knows KITT inside and out, tries to save Michael by swerving. Instead of pushing any of the dozens of buttons at his fingertips.

Margeaux, who spent months mocking, teasing, and threatening Randy, can't believe that he would "double-cross" her. Shocked Pikachu face.

Michael's plan for dealing with Devon's car being gone forever? "Let's play hooky!".

Get Smart
(2008)

I asked you not to tell me that!
Typical movie of the 00's, made for the 10-14 demographic. Lots of action, drama, explosions, and jokes that aren't funny. Takes itself far too seriously.

Knight Rider: A Plush Ride
(1982)
Episode 12, Season 1

One of Knight Rider's biggest goofs Guest Stars in this episode.
Whenever they have X seconds, the time fully elapses while K.I.T.T. is still moving.

In this episode, they will plunge off a cliff in "less than 10 seconds". It takes 10 seconds for K.I.T.T. to stop talking long enough to (ineffectively) move his brake pedal.

K.I.T.T. should have plummeted 456 meters to the canyon floor below. He might survive, but Michael would not.

Yet another 10 seconds pass (for a total of 20) before Michael pressed the Turbo Boost after telling K.I.T.T. to rotate it.

Goodbye, Michael Knight!

Titanic II
(2010)

Absolutely terrible
These guys wanted to remake the 1997 version, but get right to the disaster. They did a lousy job.

A glacier breaks off because ... a scientist dropped a sample of snow onto the ground.

There's no way for the resulting tsunami to form in the deep ocean, let alone a liner that has 12,000 feet of water under it's keel. But this one does.

The tsunami manages to move faster than the speed of sound (literally impossible), yet leaves no sonic booms in its wake.

The tsunami also rises all the way to the surface (also impossible), and threatens ONLY the Titanic II (and of course, all rescue attempts). Once the tsunami hits Titanic II, it dissipates, I guess?

Titanic II increases speed to 50 knots (impossible with her bow), yet when Amy (Marie Westbrook) goes up on deck, a deckchair doesn't move, and neither does her hair.

People run around screaming, and fall down for no reason.

The diving locker has only one suit left, but none of the others activate their emergency beacon.

There's only one survivor, as a SECOND, even bigger tsunami comes out of nowhere, bc even half the passengers getting to safety in lifeboats is NOT acceptable.

And somehow, 1,000 feet of rope is enough to save that one passenger, even though Titanic II is plunging toward the bottom at about 1,000 feet PER SECOND.

Knockouts
(1992)

Campy DD movie
The "plot" is to show as bunch of topless B starlets being topless. It fails to do so, because of the abysmal lighting and camera work. It's damn hard to see anything.

I also hoped that "professional" wrestlers would give college students who have NEVER wrestled at least SOME challenge. Or at least that the lovely Michelle Grassnick (Margo) would win her match.

I hoped in vain.

Star Trek: The Next Generation: Relics
(1992)
Episode 4, Season 6

A bizarre and infuriating episode.
Scotty's only contribution is using his ship to hold the doors of the Dyson Sphere open so that the Enterprise can escape - something any Enterprise-D crew could have done with a shuttle.

He starts out eager to help, only to be slapped around by the entire TNG crew. After retreating into a puddle of nostalgia, Scotty realizes that he has indeed outlived his usefulness, and needs to get out of everyone's way!

It's as if TNG were still fighting for ToS fans all the way into season 6, and decided the only way to do it was to make all ToS fans angry.

Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Ensigns of Command
(1989)
Episode 2, Season 3

Another annoying episode
TNG continues to struggle with the concept of non-human sentient beings.

Data is sentient. He is not creative, but by every accepted definition, he is alive. Yet year after year, TNG tries to force Data to be more Human, instead of accepting him as he is.

Then an entire colony of 15,000 reject Data, just because he's not Human. They're all willing to die, knowing full well that he is a representative sent by Humans, simply because Data himself isn't Human.

And the Shelliac (spoiler alert: more non-humans!) are portrayed as the bad guys, even though they had the right to wipe out the colony the moment the moment they discovered it, without mentioning it to the Federation.

Then there's the romantic aspect. Women keep throwing themselves at Data because he's everything Humans aspire to be: kind, compassionate, rational, reasonable, dedicated, incorruptible. Everything but emotional.

Data is pure good. But that's not enough for selfish, irrational, stubborn, malicious Humans. Data must also feel every emotion, play the violin with soul, and be a fantastic lover.

Those are things Data is not, and cannot be. It's too bad that we cannot accept Data, and tell him every day that he is inadequate, just because he is different.

Star Trek: For the World Is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky
(1968)
Episode 8, Season 3

Yonadans. Pretty but dumb.
How did they expect to get to their New World? Did Yonadans think it would come to them? The fact that there were Outsiders present on Yonada proved that it was hollow.

Natira had never seen Kirk, Spock, and McCoy before. Where did they come from? Those weird clothes - where did they get them? That strange gear they carried - how did they get it? When they disappear in a column of shimmering light, where do they go? And why do none of them have the Instrument of Obedience?

Maybe if Natira wasn't wearing 4 wigs, 6 pairs of eyelashes, 5 pounds of makeup, and 10 pounds of aluminum foil, she'd know the answer.

MacGyver: Phoenix Under Siege
(1987)
Episode 11, Season 2

Hilarious
Tricia O'Neil has 2 cohorts who exist for no reason, and do absolutely nothing. She also tries to kick Mac's teeth out using gymnastics.

Which might have worked, if 41 year-old O'Neil hadn't already smoked her lungs to death.

She can't even jog down 2 flights of stairs without stopping to hunt for oxygen, so all Mac had to do was dodge for about 2 minutes and watch O'Neil knock herself out.

Star Trek: The Next Generation: Heart of Glory
(1988)
Episode 19, Season 1

TNG continues to struggle with bad writing.
I noticed a horrible blunder for a show claiming to be sci-fi, and not just some cardboard cutouts shouting lines at each other.

The Next Gen crew face their own Kobayashi Maru, with a badly damaged cargo vessel in the Neutral Zone, and possibly Romulans nearby. This one does not ask for help, but Picard orders the Enterprise in, anyway.

Riker, Data, and Geordi beam over to the cargo vessel. Tasha operates the transporter. Troi is nowhere to be seen, and Beverly is in Sickbay for once.

Then Picard and Worf go to Sickbay to talk to the Klingons they saved from the doomed cargo ship.

This left NO senior officers on the Bridge. While in the Neutral Zone. Possibly surrounded by cloaked Romulan vessels.

Ooof!

Star Trek: The Next Generation: Haven
(1987)
Episode 10, Season 1

Counselor Troi is getting married
This episode has many flaws. 1) Wyatt (her fiancee) has never seen Deanna. 2) The flower he gives her is supposed to change color with her moods, but never does. 3) Picard lets this happen while a threat is about to wipe out an entire planet. 4) The planet this episode is named after (Haven) is completely ignored. The crew are there for Shore Leave, but no one leaves the ship. 5) Deanna, who is half Human, lives among Humans, works with Humans, fell in love with a Human, and Counsels Humans for a LIVING, has ZERO understanding of Humans!

The Love Boat: The Last Heist/Starting Over/Watching the Master
(1984)
Episode 9, Season 8

God awful
Doc loses a woman because a male "admirer" keeps cutting in.

Judy's friend can't trust men because her husband divorced her for cheating on him.

A jewel thief steals from passengers, and his niece does nothing about it.

No more Barf Boat for me!

The Love Boat: The Horse Lover/Secretary to the Stars/Julie's Decision/Gopher and Isaac Buy a Horse/Village People Ride Again
(1980)
Episode 7, Season 4

The Barf Boat
No way are they sneaking horses aboard. Loni wears a brunette wig over her blonde wig. Gopher and Isaac stand outside the Captain's cabin shouting his name, and think he won't hear.

A rich womanizer, who can get any woman he wants by snapping his fingers, supposedly falls for Julie. I can picture Julie leaving for him (she arranges parties), but he's damn near royalty.

The Village People show up to keep this crapfest from sinking.

Star Trek: The Next Generation: Yesterday's Enterprise
(1990)
Episode 15, Season 3

Why?
This episode was supposed to bring Denise Crosby back. But they didn't need to kill 40 billion people to do it, did they? Especially since Tasha became a Romulan.

Any why would Picard say that 125 lives on Enterprise-C are worth letting 40 billion people die?

Damn, this sucks!

Star Trek: The Next Generation: A Matter of Perspective
(1990)
Episode 14, Season 3

More terrible writing
1) The phaser was fired after the transporter was activated, which proves that Will could not have fired. 2) They could have easily examined whether Will's phaser was fired, but didn't. 3) Will claimed he made arrangements to stay overnight on the planet, but they didn't check. 4) The Krieger waves could not be duplicated on the holodeck. 5) Troi didn't sense any deception when it was obvious that there was. 6) Apger's testimony (as given through his assistant) conflicted wildly from his wife's. This casts doubt on both their testomonies. 7) Geordi (who was also on the station) gave no testimony. 8) They just could not think of any way to use the holodeck that didn't threaten the ship.

Rubbish from start to finish.

Star Trek: Bread and Circuses
(1968)
Episode 25, Season 2

Crap Trek
Kirk and crew stumble across New Rome. They have to escape without breaking the Prime Directive.

This is silly, since they not only leave the contaminate behind, the Prime Directive has already been broken.

And the Society wasn't even corrupted by Merick. All he did was try to keep himself and his crew alive!

Merick is portrayed as weak. Why? Because he's less than the greatest Captain ever produced by Starfleet? That's like saying "You're only a little boy, because you don't hit like Babe Ruth, Barry Bonds, or Ty Cobb!".

Scotty disrupts their power for all of 15 seconds, to show what a Starship can really do. I somehow expected more.

This episode was just another chance to squeeze in some guns and fists into a series where they don't belong.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters
(2013)

And they should fear us!
Why? You're White Witches. You hunt Black Witches. You don't hurt Humans.

Stop trying to be badass.

The Twilight Zone: Teacher's Aide/Paladin of the Lost Hour
(1985)
Episode 7, Season 1

Your Beautiful Teacher is Also Good at Her Job
Female Teachers who maintain discipline must be possessed by a demon!

People who think so dropped out of school and wrote this abomination.

Wonder Woman: The Feminum Mystique: Part 1
(1976)
Episode 5, Season 1

Wonder Girl loses her powers!
She's supposed to be Diana's little sister; fast, strong, and agile. Yet she porks out on ice cream, and acts like a 4 year-old.

The Love Boat: My Stepmother, Myself/Almost Roommates/Cornerback Sneak
(1986)
Episode 24, Season 9

Not even The Mermaids can keep The Love Boat afloat!
There's a new Assistant Cruise Director. For some inexplicable reason, the Cruise Director is not his boss.

Constantly berating the new Assistant Cruise Director, and threatening him with a Chef's knife is supposed to be very funny.

It's not.

Gave this a 2 instead of a 1 because Michael Winslow. Hated everything else about this episode.

Batman: Catwoman Goes to College
(1967)
Episode 49, Season 2

Holy jailbird, Batman!
Batman is arrested by a transfer Captain from L.A., who apparently doesn't check in with the Commissioner OR the Chief of Police? Really?

Batman is thrown in jail, but isn't fingerprinted, or told to remove his cowl. Really?

From a single strand of hair, Batman determines that their suspect is male, 6' 1 3/4", 36 years old, has flat feet, wears glasses, speaks in a deep voice, and suffers from hay fever. Really?
