Triangle of Sadness
(2022)

Waste of film stock, money & time
I have absolutely no idea why on earth this movie won so many awards. It was too long, badly edited(the opening scene was way too long) and I had no interest in any of the badly written characters. If you enjoy movies watching people throw up, ( and worse!) then you may enjoy this. Me? I was very close to asking the movie theatre for a refund! But good manners and my husband wanting to get out of there, prohibited me from doing so. Apparently the director of this dross has made some good movies in the past? I think I will have to avoid him & his work like a dose of Monkey Pox! So, IMHO I say, save your hard earned dosh & give this a miss.

The Queen's Gambit
(2020)

Just an amazing job!!
Oh my god! If you said to me that I would love a miniseries about chess, I would say you had rocks in your head! But after watching the first episode of the Queens gambit, I was hooked. Absolutely wonderful acting, fantastic script, beautifully photographed, and I learnt so much about chess I'm tempted to take it up!

Dog and Cat
(1977)

Female cop and older male cop clash at work.
I remember watching this on UK TV in 77 and thought it was great. When I mention it to friends now they just say they have never heard of it and tend to think I am making the whole thing up. I notice that this series is NOT mentioned in Kim Basinger's bio on IMDb? I wonder why as this series, in my opinion, was not that bad. It was apparently not that well received but still, at least, it got aired! I liked that she had a knackered old VW Beetle car that had a Porche engine and whizzed around the town like a banshee. And she was driving in very high heels if memory serves me. It was like 'Police Woman' with Angie Dickenson, but with a slightly sexy edge. Ah well, maybe Kim B. will see this in a better light in a few years time? Worth a look in my opinion.
