So lame
W t f. I originally heard about this movie from SpookyAstronauts and I thought it was supposed to be weird and disturbing and creepy. But this is just dumb. Sorry. I was expecting so much more! The obvious plot twist would be for the brother to come and then we see through his eyes that this is actually just a normal lamb, and the grief-stricken parents are suffering a folie-a-deux and think it's either a real baby or some special half baby half lamb. But the way this movie went is just not satisfying. Super bummed. I love slow burn, disturbing movies shot in cold, bleak places. Gorgeous scenery and something mysterious lurking in the night! But this? Sooooo lame.

This is my new favorite comedy zombie movie!
I can't even! This movie is so fabulous! The acting, the plot, the way they build the characters, their facial expressions, everything! I loved this family and got so involved in their story! The music, and the direction, everything was so well done! I have watched it 4 times now and if you haven't seen it yet, you're missing out.

The Deeper You Dig
(2019)

Definitely worth the watch
Personally, I loved it. The dream/vision sequences were so well done! Creepy and hard-hitting! The story is bleak, like the scenery. The progression of the plot was unique and provocative. The only part I didn't like was the very last scene. Oh well! The woman who played the mom was great. Was she also the same actress that was in Rob Zombies movie about the witches? I'm not sure. But she was great!

Demon
(2015)

Eerie, beautiful, nightmarish
I can't adequately express how much I liked this film. First of all, it's a beautiful film and the acting is brilliant. The plot thickens with some small and some not so small clues. I also love that the ending leaves you guessing! Sometimes I hate those endings but in this case it works and it will leave you ruminating in an excruciatingly delightful way for days after watching. Another reason why I tend to love foreign films. They don't feel the need to wrap up the ending into a tidy package.

Hush
(2016)

I wanted to kill her too
Although I loved the lead actress in this film, and she is very beautiful, I wanted to kill her myself through most of the movie.

I hate movies where the female protagonist runs around helpless while some male attacker hunts her down. This whole movie would have been over in 5 minutes if that dude had come to my house. 38 special. Need I say more?

She repeatedly leaves the house without a weapon. If she had grabbed a knife and hidden under the stairs and waited for him to walk by, she could have at least cut his achilles tendon and run.

And if you're handicapped and live alone in the woods, you'd better have some way of contacting police, or protecting yourself.

Then, she gets her friend's husband killed. Urgh. That was really maddening.

What is the whole moral of the story? Call your ex back when you get that urge and invite him over? If she had done that, none of this would have happened?

What was the story with him anyway? There wasn't enough background to the plot. What was the motive of the killer? Why the mask, if he was going to take it off so early on?

I give it 7 stars because it had a decent ending, and it was definitely a nail-biter.

It Follows
(2014)

Lousy waste of time
I'm a huge fan of horror, and recently read somewhere that this movie was so scary, and so well done, etc. I simply don't get it. It was a very average movie. I was very confused what time era we were supposed to be seeing. Was it the 70's? 80s? 90s? Current times? Very hard to tell. I think it was supposed to be the 70s, but some things did not belong in that era.

Then there's the scene with the "broken" girl on the beach. That was the only good part of the movie, although, I am kind of wondering how does a leg stick up like that when you're dead? Isn't there a thing called gravity? And who was that girl? I'm so confused.

Then there's the premise: there's a curse, and it can be passed on through sex. But how or why? And could you pass the curse on to someone else or can't you? It didn't seem to work. So why did they keep trying? Where did the curse originate? Who were the people who would come after the infected? Were they ghosts? Ghosts of the previous victims? Now that might make sense. It was never really answered.

Lame. Lame. Lame. Boring. Lame.

The Open House
(2018)

No ending? Here are 2 alternative endings for you!
I am giving this movie 5 stars because the main actress was very good and I liked the young man/teen who played her son, too. They did a great job and it's not their fault this movie stunk.

What the heck? This movie had so much potential! The idea that when you have an open house, you're letting people in to your home, and this house was so big, and there was a possibility that someone had snuck in for nefarious reasons and stayed!

And then there's the creepy neighbor lady. What is her story? And they come home and find Christmas music playing and candles lit. All of this leading up to....???? They just never explained anything! It's like they just gave up mid way through. I really liked the first half of the movie. Someone needs to give this movie another try and give it an ending! The basement with a tunnel going nowhere. What was that all about?

Here is an ending for all of you who were wishing for more:

The old lady neighbor used to own the house with her husband. They enjoyed one last Christmas dinner there before her husband ran off with another woman, then died (tragically, yet justifiably) in a car wreck. The old lady is now obsessed with getting her old life back. She wants to re-create that last happy night of her life. She sneaks in, sets the table, puts on music, lights candles, and is talking to herself as if she is reliving that night. There's a flashback scene that shows them eating dinner, laughing, then he gives her a present and kisses her. Then he gets a phone call and takes it outisde. It's his secret mistress. He excuses himself and goes off to meet her. He dies in a car crash on the way.

Now crazy neighbor is in the house, and the mom and her son come home and find her. She attacks them and screams "get out of my house!" She nearly kills them, but they fight back and kill her. End of movie.

Or:

Someone comes to the open house who knows there's something valuable hidden in that tunnel under the house. He sneaks in over and over to try to find the buried money or treasure. He is just trying to scare the mom and her son to get them out of there so he can pull out the power equipment and do some real digging before the house sells.

Not scariest movie ever
I was so excited to watch this because of the dumb --obviously fake---- news article about how it was the scariest movie ever and Netflix users had to turn it off in the middle. Ugh. Don't fall for the hype. This is a very AVERAGE scary movie. I give it 7 stars because 1) it has a story that kinda makes sense 2) Catholic schools with blind nuns and basements are creepy 3) the little boy in the movie is fricking adorable 4) I love foreign movies 5) Ouja boards are scary. DO NOT mess with them 6) full Monty ghost was creepy 7) special effects were pretty convincing.

Somehow, I fell asleep at the very end of the movie. So, I have no idea how it ended. It wasn't that scary.
